a bright orange and blue wall with a flower painted on it - The image shows a restaurant interior with a vibrant mural on the wall. The mural includes the word 'Aloha' in large red cursive letters, a white hibiscus flower with a yellow center, and a blue wave pattern on an orange background. The floor is wooden, and there is a small white table with a sign on it, along with a white chair nearby. The ceiling has recessed lighting and hanging lamps.

Big Poke is the only create-your-own poke joint in Lowell! It's located on the bustling street in the downtown area. The interior is colorful and bright, big ole Hawaiian vibe mural. Parking kiosk downtown. Here's the thing, Yelp has a way of reeling me in with their photo. And to my disappointment, they no longer have those big containers for the trio+ scoops. Just flimsy plastic dinky ones that can barely hold two scoops of rice, protein, and toppings for over $12. Same prices as Boston, or a couple of towns over in Westford for a big full round bowl of poke goodness vs these small containers! Just saying. Aloha Bowl- 2 scoops of sushi white rice, spicy ahi, huli huli chicken, island mac. The chicken is fine, I like the mac. The spicy ahi was good! Hawaiian Classic Duo- 2 scoops of sushi white rice, ahi shoyu, salmon shoyu, kimchi. I like the proteins with the truffle aioli. The kimchi was eh with this. Overall Service: They were okay. I don't know if I would come back.

Hawaiian Classic Duo (left) and 2-Choice Meal (right). Absolutely fresh and delicious.

Went there again today. OMG! Soooooooo good! Had the Hawaiian Classic Duo meal. Delicious. So fresh tasting. Employees are so welcoming and friendly! Always! The menu, options and fixings can be a little intimidating / overwhelming even. Stop! Relax! Take your time to read, ask questions. Employees will be more than happy to help and even provide samples, to ensure you get the best meal, the best dining experience! I LOVE this place! Can't wait to go back!

Hawaiian Classic Duo - A poke bowl in a clear plastic container contains shredded carrots, seaweed strips, chopped vegetables, and sauce drizzled on top. The container is placed on a blue plastic bag, with some electronic cords visible in the background. The dish appears to be a Hawaiian-style poke bowl with island-inspired ingredients.

Came here to try out their poke bowls, so glad I did! It was very refreshing and all of the flavors went really well together. I got the Hawaiian classic duo, which I would definitely recommend ! It comes with two scoops of rice, ahi shoyu, and salmon shoyu. I didn't get the kimchi on the side because I can't tolerate spicy! I god the macaroni salad instead and that was delicious! She recommended sauce combinations for me, which went really well together. I wish they still had the Hawaiian drinks !! I'd definitely come back again !

After an unhealthy weekend I was looking forward to some refreshing poke. I found this place on yelp and had to go check it out. Unfortunately it didn't live up to the hype. Here's the F.A.S.T (Food Ambiance Service Trendsetter) Review Food 2 I've tried A LOT of poke places and I'd say this one doesn't even come close to being at the top in terms of food. First, a regular size is only one scoop of protein?! At most places it's usually two scoops for regular and three for large. Also all the toppings that I wanted was extra $$ when in comparison to other poke places they would cost the same as the other toppings (for instance seaweed salad). The taste itself was good but nothing exceptional. Ambiance 3 Nothing out of the ordinary in terms of ambiance. Just a standard place with a good amount of seating Service 4 Service was good and the person was extremely helpful in helping me pick the sauce that goes best with the toppings I chose Trendsetter 2 Offers your pretty typical poke toppings. Some of the pictures on yelp of the poke makes it look different from the one that I got. I'm wondering if they recently changed up their offerings? Overall, not sure I'd come back!

Spicy salmon bowl at Big Poke in DLT for lunch. - A poke bowl featuring sliced cucumber, edamame, shredded carrots, seaweed, and cooked fish pieces is presented on a white surface in front of a window. The background shows a street scene with a parked car and buildings, indicating an indoor dining setting with natural light.

Best poke around town. Love the varieties and how I am able to customize my own bowl to my liking. Clean, cozy and fun atmosphere. Definitely a must!

Aloha Bowl and 2 Poke Bowl (Two Choices)

Ordered 2 bowls and 2 drinks, total was around $31. The aloha bowl is a part of their specials. The huli huli is super good, definitely would get it again. For the second bowl, I got the 2 choice with 2 scoops of white rice, ahi shoyu, spicy salmon, island Mac salad and crab salad. The ahi shoyu is also really good and full of flavor, definitely would get this again. The fish is very fresh and portions are perfect, very filling. For drinks we got the island ice tea and lilikoi passion Hawaiian sun.

Friendly staff, easy ordering, though very small subset of the full offerings, with only 3 egg roll types available (the brick-and-mortar location has 16). These are smaller egg rolls, more along the lines of a Vietnamese egg roll or a mini version of a Chinese spring roll. Know going in that this isn't going to be something you'd get on an old school pupu platter. Also know that you gotta order in pairs that can't be mixed. So if getting two, it's two of the same kind. I found a trading buddy. Buffalo Chicken Egg Roll ($5 for 2): Soft, tender meat, a little dry, a little spicy. Served with a tiny container of blue cheese for dipping. Cheeseburger Egg Roll ($5 for 2): Soft, crumbly meat, good moisture, cheese melted in, good ratio of protein to shell. Served with a tiny container of ketchup for dipping. General Gau's Chicken ($16 for plate): Think McNuggets, with a similar size and flat shape, only higher quality. Moist. Batter not crisp at all, but when is it crisp even at a Chinese restaurant? Lacking in the sauce and flavor departments. More of a clear, thin glaze than a sauce, and needed more of it. Served with white rice and pickled cabbage. Solid portion.

For food, they offer the usual suspects such as appetizers (gyoza, spring rolls, shumai crab rangoons, edamame, skewers, chicken fingers, scallion pancake...), soup, salads, noodle soups, stir fried noodles, fried rice, bento boxes, teriyaki dinners, katsu, donburi, sushi rolls, and sashimi entrees and appetizers. The pricing is moderate here. On my way back home, I passed through Lowell and decided to stop in at Koto for takeout, later in the evening before closing time. The place wasn't too busy on a hot weeknight. I decided on the Shrimp & Veggie Yaki Udon Noodles ($16 plus tax), which was hot, ready and bagged in a nice looking sealed Koto reusable bag. The food was still hot when I arrived home about 30 minutes later. The portion seemed modest, but expected since I ordered the thick round udon noodles. This dish had a mix of soft udon noodles, carrots, broccoli, onions, red peppers, cabbage, zucchini, and tender shrimp (cleaned). Other than the noodle dish being a bit overcooked, it tasted pretty good. I will very likely order the pork katsu with rice & salad or a bento box on the next visit to Koto in Lowell.

I am standing there while the "DJ" literally sits and eats drinks and smokes, and the excuse to sit around and do nothing is he "has no singers". I arrive half an hour after the official start time and he would not let me do karaoke. This guy does the same thing wherever he goes it's crazy. Then the angry owner protects his friend rather than hold him accountable for not doing his job.. It's no wonder the nightlife scene in Lowell is dead. These people put their delinquent friends and/or family before their customers. Hopefully some business-minded people will take these spots over where, these people are taking the location and the local people for granted. The fact that he even said, "starting at 10pm" is crazy, and shows how out of touch and uncaring these business people are, as any1 with a middleschool education can clearly see the entire problem was that karaoke...from my own FIRST HAND ACCOUNT, hadn't started at 10pm. Yes, please do as this guy says; be there at 10pm like I did and see if the karaoke isn't started by 10:33 pm (which is when I finally left) or even 10pm as he's claiming, make sure you also leave this owner a 1 Star review to prevent more uppity out-of-town business owners who think they run the place from taking advantage of local spots where good businesses would actually thrive and add value to the area instead of more smug, cynical, every man for himself, here today, gone tomorrow turn-key bullcrap. This guy is delusional... everything I stated was a first hand account, for him to flat out LIE is crazy. Also the story he is giving here doesn't match up with what he said in his own restaurant. I had a face to face convo with this guy INSIDE the restaurant.. the karaoke hadn't started and he knew that because he told me, "this DJ had a method where he waits for a bunch of singers to show up". So this guy KNEW and yet he calls out the truth on me, what a snake. What a pompous, nose-in-the-air person this guy is. Untruths, lol a word the news uses to blanket discount anything any1 says. Goes to show even people with money can be crazy, it's not just the guy strung out sitting on trash. Also, this DJ's "method" is him sitting around drinking, smoking, and ordering drinks WELL PAST the karaoke start time. I literally went to another location that "hires" him (more like a charity donation) and it was LITERALLY past 11:30 pm and this same DJ hadn't started yet despite the start time being 10pm.... These big business types want you to shut up and take it and be quiet, they care nothing of the service they provide.
