I was in the neighborhood to get a book at lala bookstore and wanted to grab food to go and found this place. I'm so glad I decided to go here because the food is absolutely delicious. And it travels really well, the wings stayed crispy and they were fried perfectly. I also can't believe how much food they give you, it's a really good deal! The staff was really nice as well when I asked about the menu when deciding to order. Definitely going back here again read more

Great food and service. One of our favorite Vietnamese Thia restaurant. It's ultra casual, nothing fancy. Love their fresh rolls, and chicken pho. Usually can find parking on street after hours. read more

Solid place to get authentic, fresh Vietnamese food! The owners are very sweet and are always going above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The restaurant isn't small by any means, but because it's popular, seats can be limited during peak hours. However, the wait is never too long and always worth it! read more

I truly wish I could give this place a full five stars, because the food itself is absolutely amazing. Every dish I've ever tried was flavorful, well-prepared, and clearly made with care. You can tell a lot of heart goes into the cooking here. On top of that, the staff is wonderful -- friendly and genuinely welcoming, which always makes us feel valued as guests. Unfortunately, I have to rate my current experience four out of five stars due to an issue that significantly impacted our meal. While we were eating, there were cockroaches crawling on the wall near us, which was extremely unsettling and completely tainted the experience. It made it very difficult to continue enjoying our food, despite how delicious it was. I say this with sincerity: if the restaurant can fully address the cleanliness concerns, including any cockroach or rodent issues, I truly believe this place can return to being a solid five-star restaurant. The food and the people are already there -- it just needs that final, crucial piece to match the quality of everything else. read more

Food was great and it came out fast. This is a place to get some great Viet food. It'll definitely satisfy your pho cravings. Everything was standard, nothing too crazy. The menu is standard and you'll find all the regular Vietnamese dishes here. It is very affordable and they give good portions. Service was fast and they check up frequently though we didn't really need anything. It actually pretty big in there, there is two sections of the restaurant and both sections were pretty packed. Very cozy and casual setting. read more

Viet-Thai is one of the few Vietnamese spots in Lowell and definitely gets the job done if you're looking for a place that offers pho. Though they advertise they serve both Thai and Vietnamese cuisine, you won't find boat noodle soup or khao soi here for Thai food. For Vietnamese noodle soups, they do offer some of the other popular ones like bun bo hue, bun rieu, and bo kho. Here, they also have rice plates and vermicelli bowls too. I typically get their bun bo hue and it's good every time. Service is pretty quick and staff is always nice. read more

Will forever be my go-to spot for Vietnamese cuisine. The dishes are always a hit! I've been coming here ever since I was young & years later the quality still remains the same. The crispy fried chicken & spring rolls are my favorite apps! Their bun bo hue is probably one of the best I've had (although it was missing pork blood). Give them a shot! You won't be disappointed. read more

Best Vietnamese restaurant in Lowell hands down. The broth for their pho is so rich and crisp that it makes me forget that I have a cold. And the cuts of meat that they use for their dac biet is so tender and full of fats. We didn't have to wait long for a table even though it was a busy weekend. It's not too small of a space and customers eat pretty fast, so tables clear up and get filled quick. My husband got the wonton soup with yellow noodles and I tried some of his broth. To my surprise it tastes just like egg drop soup. Very savory. I've also had their meekathung/chow foon a few times and it's great, doesn't lose to Cambodian restaurants in the slightest. My cousin also orders fried chicken from here every time we have a family get together because their chicken size is big, and it's golden and crispy, and just so good. If you're still wary about trying this place, I suggest you take the advice of the many award plaques hanging on their walls for best Asian(?) restaurant that were received years in a row. Try them, you won't regret it. read more

Very good place to have Pho, it's amazing. They also have really good wings and Vietnamese used coffee.

I absolutely love this place. I've been coming for nine years since I moved out here from San Diego. The food is consistently delicious, the staff is kind and courteous, and the prices remain reasonable. Just visited today with my boyfriend for lunch on our two year anniversary. Pho was excellent. read more

I have had bad pho before and thought I was just not a fan. This space proved me wrong! The pho is amazing!!! Everyone is very quick to help, polite and when they tell you a wait time, they're always accurate. We typically get takeout, and everything is always amazing. read more

Parking on this street was quite easy. I recommend getting the crab Rangoon because it's quite unique from other places I've tried. Theirs is very flavorful and different ingredients in their cream cheese. I would order that from here again! The taro slush was just ok for me. Rice plate was standard too. Great place for convenient Vietnamese or Thai dishes! read more

Go in with with zero or negative expectation for service and you'll enjoy this place. Service pretty much sucked. No greeting, no water, no napkins, long wait for menus, no check ins on how the experience is. We had to grab our own napkins, and had to give notice we didn't have any water either. So with no expectations for service, we got the pho dac biet. The flavors were great. Not too heavy, good body on the soup, and it was a little sweeter than what I'm used to. Not too many verities in Veggies, but fresh and clean. Portions were average, and you don't feel gross after eating the whole thing. All the broth included. If you want a delicious bowl of pho and expect zero service. This spot is a 5* Will try it again when I'm in the area. read more

Wonderful pho! Just the right balance of flavors and the chicken is lean and side fixings fresh. The constant flow of locals reaffirmed this place would have authentic pho. Spring rolls were also fresh and tasty with a delicious thick peanut sauce. We thoroughly enjoyed and will be back. And, if you have room the ice coffee is delicious too. Enjoy!! read more

Two stars just because the food was good. It goes downhill from here: 1- foind a long black hair in the Meeka Tang! Yuck!!!! What kind of disgusting place is this? Nobody's wearing hair nets in the kitchen? 2- they charge a "to go container" fee... Insulting. This is the first time and last time we go there. read more

All street parking, but it was easy to find a spot. I love their fried chicken both plain and spicy. Their papaya salad is also one of the best, they actually make it spicy if you ask for it. Also got a side of sticky rice but didn't realize how big it was gonna be. The loc lac was nice and crispy but lacked The service was okay like everyone said, a little slow. We also got the mango shake and Thai tea. Mango shake was not that good but the Thai tea was good and not too sweet. read more

This has been my go-to spot in college from 2016-2019 and sadly no longer live in the area but I crave their food all the time. I love it so much that I will drive 30 miles just to eat their Pho Ga. Staff is super friendly, and the food is consistently good. Their hot spicy chili oil is the best I ever had. I wish they had a location near me! read more

I was given the recommendation for Viet Thai for the "best Pho around". I have never have Pho so if I was going to I wanted the best. We ordered a large Pho, rice and chicken fingers and everything was fantastic. The broth was exceptional. The rice was fresh and the batter on the fingers was really some of the best I have had. Not sure how to eat pho but we managed through and enjoyed it all. Will definitely be back. The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly and tried to explain to us what we were ordering with recommendations. Definitely try them out read more

Food is good, price is reasonable but if you order food for pick up, be ready to wait! And by the way, beware of young guy on the register who is very sarcastic and gave me an attitude when I asked about the status of my order which should have been ready when I arrived the store. He need to have some manners if he's working in this business! so disgusting! However I don't want to generalize it, the rest of the staff and server there are super nice. read more

Based on a 1-time recent visit. Seems to be family run. I got the Beef Pad Thai for takeout ($11.95) and I kid you not, in 5 mins or less the hostess had my order ready after I paid. I was surprised by the very quick turnaround (& a little suspicious lol), but the order was decent overall. -1: It was missing any crushed peanuts which is traditionally on top of the noodles. The pad Thai sauce was also very strong in fish sauce flavor but palatable. And portion size was fairly substantial enough to share amongst 2. The rice noodles were very chewy (in a good way, I think an indication of being fresh), piping hot like it was definitely wok-fried. A little skimpy on the beef and mung bean sprouts. I notice they charge a small "local" tax on top of the standard meals tax which is weird, not sure if that's a mandated Lowell thing. And if you can pay with cash that's recommended or you'll get charged 3% more with credit card. read more

Just want to say the food here is good but the service suck. Our order was confirm twice ( just want to mention they came over to ask 5 min from time we ordered). Notice people who came in after us already got their food, after 40min we finally got our food. We have a party of 4 and 3 people got their order except for me. I ask and they said in a few minute. 20min later before I got my order, everyone finish eating.... EVERYTHING HERE IS SO GOOD! I'm shocked by the 3.5 stars overall rating because I legitimately loved everything I ordered. The food is authentic, the flavors are developed, and the prices are cheap - what more could you want? This little gem in downtown Lowell is the perfect stop for all your Vietnamese cravings and then some. They have a pretty decent sized menu with everything from pho to vermicelli to rice plates. Made the 45 minute trek from Manchester, NH to try out Viet Thai and lemme tell ya, I'll make that trek over and over again for this delicious food. You walk in, seat yourself, and someone will be by to give you your menus. The fried chicken wings are MASSIVE. They are super crispy on the outside and oozing juice on the inside. These took the longest to come out despite being an appetizer but they fry them fresh because they came out piping hot. The meat was verrry tender. The fried squid/calamari was perrrfect - fried well, good texture, and it just had the perfect balance of salt and pepper. For my entree I got the stir fried crispy yellow noodles with seafood. I don't really like eating my vegetables but that SAUCE was so delicious and tasty that it made all the vegetables tasty as well. I love having the mixture of the soggy sauce-soaked noodles on the bottom with the crispy noodles on the top because it adds some variety. What surprised me most was the pho. Some places really water it down and dilute the broth so they can make more bowls but Viet Thai does NOT do that. When you walk into the restaurant you can already smell the hint of pho but when they brought it out to the table...the aroma, the fragrance... MOUTHWATERING! You just already know it's going to be good. The flavors are just so wonderfully developed and the broth is just so rich. Viet Thai definitely has the best Vietnamese food Lowell has to offer. All our dishes were less than $10 each with generous portions. I'm in love!! read more
