Delicious Chinese Food! This is my go-to spot now as their food isn't super greasy. I love their Singapore Noodles with shrimp, they don't skimp on their protein! Their general gau's chicken is made with real, delicious chunks of battered chicken in a decadent sauce. It's not too heavily battered where there is 50% batter and 50% chicken, that leaves you with an uncomfortable feeling afterward. You can't go wrong with ordering this. They also have lunch specials which you can get a bento box with General Gau's chicken, rice, some sushi and an appetizer of your choice for $16. Great deal! Service is always great. read more

I never knew this spot opened until I passed by one night. So we decided to try it out tonight since we were craving Chinese. Parking is small for the Thorndike Exchange, considering there's them and a cafe as well, which we want to try in the morning. When we walked it, it was packed and it was like 7PM. We decided to sit at the sushi bar, which was not bad. The servers are always making sure you've been helped, love that. We decided to order beef chow foon, fried calamari, and the torched salmon wrap. Because we were at the sushi bar, the torched salmon wrap came out first in like 5 mins, maybe 3. This is my first time trying actual restaurant sushi after avoiding it for 10 years, because Market Basket sushi scarred me. And I was very surprised at the taste and texture. The taste was sweet, tangy, and a little spicy. I liked the crab pieces in the middle. Each piece was like bigger than a jumbo marshmallow, so I could only eat one piece. Safe to say, I think I might start opening my palate to sushi now. The calamari, compared to my favorite China Star, was not crispy at all. The flavor, I could only taste the spice and not the salt. It was alright, but I finished it because it was still good. The chow fun is not as flavorful as khmer meekathung, but it definitely has more flavor than Wah Sang's. And I like that the noodles are coated with a bit of oil so it's not so stuck to each other. Over all, I think this place is ok to sip and nibble and chat with your friends at night. read more

Delicious, divine, and everything in between!! A tasteful experience for this new restaurant right next to the train station; extremely worth the visit for some good Chinese and Japanese food. Jade Lowell opened recently near the Gallagher Transportation Center in Lowell. This basement restaurant and bar serves up a variety of Chinese and Japanese dishes, sushi & sashimi, and a full drink menu at the bar. They offer full service dining and takeout and online ordering through Toast. There is table seating and seating around the bar, which also has flatscreen TVs. I decided to try Jade Lowell out for lunch takeout and placed an online order for a Bento Box ($16 plus tax) with shrimp (2) & vegetable tempura, rice (brown), house salad, appetizer (2 crab rangoons) and a Quart of Wonton Soup ($8.95 plus tax). My order would be ready in 20 minutes, which was ideal since I was already heading to Lowell. I arrived to Jade and my order was bagged and ready and I headed back to the vehicle where I checked through the items I ordered. The items were separated and not in a bento box, no biggie. However, I was missing items including the brown rice and crab rangoons. I headed back inside Jade and informed staff about the missing items and they profusely apologized. They made my missing items and also gave me a pint of Miso Soup too. I checked one more time to make sure everything I ordered was there. I headed back to the house to enjoy my food. The tempuras had slightly thick batter and a bit oily, but otherwise pretty good. The green salad came with a tangy ginger dressing and the warm brown rice was firm. The crab rangoons were crispy, filled with soft cream cheese. The wonton soup had plenty of hot chicken broth, with snow peas, carrots, and soft wontons filled with pork. I finished the bento box lunch and had half the wonton soup, saving the other half for dinner. Overall, a decent lunch at Jade, moderately priced. It's a good thing I checked the bag contents before I drove off. They really need to check off the items being packed to make sure nothing is missing. I've had incomplete DoorDash orders from other restaurants and Dashers are not allowed to open stapled bags. I've had to call support and have another delivery driver bring missing items, which should have been correct the first time by the restaurant. read more

My family and I had dinner at the new Chinese/Japanese restaurant in Lowell. I'm impressed by all the delicious food we ordered, as well as the service and atmosphere. They also have an outdoor seating area in the summer. Plenty of parking spaces in the private lot. The waitstaff was very attentive, going as far as opening the doors for us as we were walking down the steps to taking our family photos for us. I have two parts to my review. PART ONE. THE DISCOVERY. I met with some friends at Jade Lowell for the first time for sushi and drinks a while ago. I was blown away by the ambiance once I walked in. We don't have places like this in Lowell. It felt more like a restaurant you would find in Boston. The combination of exposed brick, lounge type seating and the gorgeous bar that goes around for days gives this place a really nice vibe. On to the food. We ordered a combination of sushi and Chinese food -- let me tell you, it was so good. The taste and presentation was top notch. Many people drive by this location all the time but the restaurant doesn't get much attention. Shame on me for not discovering this place sooner. Definitely a repeat for me. PART TWO: THE RETURN I was looking for places to throw a surprise birthday party with about 40 people. I looked at function halls, other restaurants, hotels, etc... and came up with nothing. I've attended parties at those places before and they were missing something. They are too big, typical and boring. Then I remembered something. I remembered Jade Lowell had a small birthday gathering behind the bar when I was there with my friends back when. I called and spoke the to owner and he was so friendly and accommodating. I am super glad I had the birthday gathering there because it had everything I was looking for: Intimate but lively atmosphere, modern décor, very nice bar, and excellent food & service. The party was a huge hit. Thank you to the owner for being so accommodating and thank you to the the entire staff for their non-stop excellent service. To the owner: Thank you for taking a chance on Lowell and bringing some class, style, friendly service and flavor. I liked the more modern look and aesthetic. It felt sleek and the location being downstairs in an office space felt like a hidden gem.
