Since the closure of several restaurants in Lowell, Cobblestones is one of the few options for eating out before an event at Tonga's Center or LMA. This means they can get quite busy on event nights. It's possible the quality of the food and service might suffer a bit in these circumstances, but that's true of any place. Plan your visit accordingly, and adjust your expectations. We both loved our entrees. My wife ordered the combo of chicken enchilada and burrito. I went with the Pollo Jalisco, a chicken Cutlets with onion, mushroom, rancero sauce and melted cheese. The service was friendly throughout our visit. Our server was pleasant, although we did have to remind them a couple of times about the straws and plates we had requested. The food itself was enjoyable. The agave-glazed wings were the best out of all our meals. Charred, flavorful, and something I'd definitely order again. The brisket was tender and well prepared, and while the burnt ends were cooked nicely, they were a bit sweeter than my personal preference. Unfortunately, the apple cider vinaigrette for the salad didn't agree with us afterward, although that may simply come down to individual sensitivity. Portions were generous, making the meal a good value. My only other suggestion would be to serve the food a little hotter, as everything cooled off fairly quickly. One thing this location has going for it is the convenience. There's plenty of parking, and it's much easier to get to than the Boston locations. Overall, delivered solid barbecue with generous portions and friendly service.
