I searched a few places that may potentially have events going on but it wasn't guaranteed so my cousins and I decided to check out The Lass Stop. I was here the previous week after a wedding and the venue and bar space was beautifully decorated. We decided...let's check this place out for Halloween! I'm sure glad we stopped by since everyone was in their Halloween attire and the music was on point! We didn't have a reserved table but they were kind enough to put us in a booth where we could see everything. The owner was kind enough to introduce himself to us and even offered us a green tea shot! One for the win! The waitress was amazing and although it got really busy in the later part of the evening, she never forgot us and was always attentive. I love Cambodian food (especially finger food to snack on while drinking) and their menu did not disappoint. So about the drinks....it was some of the best and most creative drinks that I've ever had! I've been to the Red Door in Paris (second best bar in the world) and this place beats it by a mile long! My cousins and boyfriend throughly enjoyed this place and we are definitely going to be regulars here! I hope they have holiday theme events here...uh humm (Ugly sweater Christmas weekend....Santa con.....New Years Eve)

This place so so remarkable, that I had to comment about it. Let me see... what can I say about it?…read more Well... the location is great, and the coffee at breakfast was OK, the bartender Joe was social and friendly. Oh... and the manager Tabitha was compassionate about the foreign object I got in my eye while trying to fix the bathroom sink. It took three emails and two telephone calls to correct my reservation. I am certain the person who answered the call the first time was simply too lazy to make the reservation. She told me that she didn't think you were any rooms but she will call me back in 10 minutes. She didn't call back in the hotel census was about four people. It took more than an hour for the maintenance man to arrive to fix the sink. This was on a Monday afternoon with absolutely no one else in the hotel. I must say the maintenance man was very helpful and friendly, and that he fixed a problem immediately. He also said that "they should be paying you to stay here". The beds are uncomfortable. Homeless people come up to the third-floor to fill up the bags with ice from the ice machine (which indicates that security is lax). For breakfast there are some day old pastries, granola bars, yogurt, orange juice and coffee. There are spoons for the yogurt but there are no knives and forks to cut the pastries. There was one visitor from New Orleans who was attending the folk festival who couldn't find the breakfast area because there is no sign directing people. During the school year this is a dormitory and some rooms set aside for the hotel. In the summer, this facility is mostly a hotel, they bare-bones hotel. There is no restaurant amenities and not too good, and there is no television. That is there is a television but you have to use one of your paid subscription services to use it on Roku to watch any television. The old adage of you get what you pay for holds true. I advise going somewhere else and driving into Lowell if you need to.

Its an old dorm for the university so its what you expect. Only proper complaint i have. Is the main door does not fit in the way. Its an inch and a half too short and a half inch short on width which allows the other wise black out capability of the room (window curtains wrre perfect) to light up the whole room from the hallway.

They are set up to host large events in the dining room, but the bar area is nice and cozy, with several high top tables and booths. One of the best things here is the chowder... New England style, hearty and delicious. The bar has a great selection of local beer, and they make a great cocktail. Since the closure of several restaurants in Lowell, Cobblestones is one of the few options for eating out before an event at Tonga's Center or LMA. This means they can get quite busy on event nights. It's possible the quality of the food and service might suffer a bit in these circumstances, but that's true of any place. Plan your visit accordingly, and adjust your expectations. And don't be one of those people who thinks that Not blowing out your eardrums from loud music is uncool because guess what, being deaf is probably one of the uncoolest things you could do if you where blessed with the gift of hearing and then ended up losing it from being careless.

Years ago this resort was Stonehenge and everything was glorious. The dining room was special with…read moreamazing food.Apparently it closed and was bought and renamed.Although the outside still looks lovely, the inside lighting is very dark.I stayed here due to its proximity to a party I was attending in the area. The hostess informed me upon check in that the dining room and bar were closed due to lack of staff. Okay, but it's Saturday! Luckily I had eaten at the party so I decided to use the pool.It was a bit of a walk to get to the pool. One needs to leave the front of the hotel and through the parking lot, following a path to the pool.Apparently, there is no way to access the pool without making this journey. It's okay during the summer but limits use in winter.Inside the pool one other family informed me that the hot tub wasn't very hot.I tried it for myself and it was lukewarm. At least the jets worked. The ladies room is lacking safety mats and doesn't have a specified changing room, just two toilets. There was a door with no door knob and when I opened it saw what is apparently a spa.As it was closed and dark I closed the door.As I entered the pool area there were tools just laying around. For 300 a night, one expects a higher quality experience. The room itself didn't have any info. about the area and didn't have a welcoming vibe. There should be a safety mat in the bathroom. In the morning I was hoping for the advertised breakfast.Upon entering the breakfast area I saw a bunch of appliances lined up but hardly any food to eat. There wasn't even a coffee station. There was a sad small Keurig maker. All they offered was cold cereal, stale tiny croissants, fruit that looked sad, grapes still in their package...not even cleaned or presented. In the fridge there was just milk.No juice! The other family that came in with kids told their mom they were hungry and asked"where is the food?" They left.I ate a stale croissant, and drank a Keurig coffee and left hungry.I've stayed at hotels all across the country and have never seen such a disgraceful display. If you're going to charge 300 a night then make an effort! I rarely write reviews this detailed, but after more than a month of trying to resolve this…read moredirectly with management, I feel other guests deserve to know about our experience. On April 5, 2026, three friends and I booked our annual Mother's Day getaway at Chateau Merrimack. We weren't first-time guests. We had stayed here in 2025 and had a wonderful experience, and I had also stayed at the property several times before the ownership change. We genuinely loved staying here, recommended the hotel to family and friends, and expected this to become an annual tradition. Unfortunately, that tradition ended on May 30, 2026. Before our stay, we discovered through OpenTable that the restaurant was listed as permanently closed, even though the Chateau Merrimack website still displayed the restaurant menu as if it were open. While disappointing, we adjusted our plans and decided to keep our reservation. When we arrived to check in on May 30, we were then informed that the pool was closed and the elevators were also out of service. The elevator closure itself was not a deciding factor for us. The pool, however, absolutely was. We had thoroughly enjoyed using it during our previous stay, and it was one of the primary reasons we chose to return to Chateau Merrimack. Along with the restaurant and other amenities, it was part of the experience we believed we were booking. When we questioned why this information hadn't been clearly communicated, we were shown that the pool closure was mentioned only at the very end of the online booking process, immediately before entering payment information. That is not meaningful transparency, and that notice was not present when we made our reservation on April 5. If one of your property's primary amenities is unavailable, guests deserve to know that before deciding to book--not after they've already arrived. While trying to understand what had happened, my friend also discovered that our exact room type for that same night was being advertised for substantially less than what we had originally paid. That only added to our frustration. I want to be very clear that the front desk employee was kind, professional, and empathetic throughout the interaction. My disappointment is not with him. It is entirely with management and how this situation was handled. Because the stay we booked was no longer the experience we expected, we canceled our reservation and found another hotel. We were told there would be a $50 cancellation fee, but we were ultimately charged $53.13. Rather than immediately posting a negative review, I made every effort to resolve this privately. - May 31: I sent a detailed, respectful email to management explaining my concerns and requesting that the cancellation fee be refunded. - June 4: After receiving no response, I sent a follow-up email. - June 5: The manager replied, stating my original email had gone to her spam folder. While I appreciated finally receiving a response, it was dismissive and focused solely on company policy rather than addressing the lack of transparency or acknowledging our concerns. - June 6: I replied, hoping we could continue the conversation and reach a fair resolution. - June 13: After another week of silence, I sent one final follow-up, even asking if perhaps my response had also ended up in her spam folder. Today is July 6, 2026. I have still never received another response. I am still out $53.13, but more disappointing than the money is the complete lack of communication. Management had multiple opportunities over the course of five weeks to acknowledge our concerns and make this right. Instead, they simply stopped responding. This review isn't really about $53.13. It's about transparency, accountability, and customer service. Hotels undergo renovations, amenities close, and unexpected situations happen. Most guests understand that. What matters is being upfront before people book and treating loyal, returning customers fairly when concerns are raised. What should have been a relaxing annual getaway with friends became a stressful experience that ended with us scrambling to find another hotel. Even more disappointing is that after giving management multiple opportunities to resolve the matter privately, it ultimately ended with silence. Sadly, because of this experience, I can no longer recommend Chateau Merrimack. If you choose to stay here, I strongly encourage you to verify that the amenities that are important to you are actually available before booking.
