We got the ahi poke nachos with salmon and it they were SO GOOD! generous amount of salmon, which I was not mad about for $17. The poke bowl was stuffed full which made it kind of hard not to make a mess, but it was delicious and fresh. I don't understand why if this is their standard to give a customer ice cold rice. Large portion does not represent the added protein IMO. I did a BYO bowl, double tuna and salmon. It's diced incredibly small. .50 Add on for Tobiko while worth it as it was a generous serving doesn't outweigh how incredibly disappointing this $20 bowl was. It overall was still bland with the ponzu sauce. Their wasabi was a peculiar color- not the pale green I'm used to- but almost an atomic/nuclear alien green, off putting. Heavy on certain add ons and light on others. When we walked in there was a faint smell of cleaner (like bleach etc) which was unpleasant. I wasn't greeted by any of the 3 employees behind the line, just kinda stared at me until I was ready to order. Service was quick. I had a tasty sushi burrito with salmon and spam. Tons of mix-ins/toppings to choose from (some of them cost a little extra, but a lot of them are free). Also got the wonton chips, which were great, but they came with a touch too much salt -- if you're sensitive to salt, see if they can go light or not add any to begin with. Great poke restaurant, I've never had a bad bowl. They do a great job with takeout. Food is typically ready within 5 - 7 minutes. They had a great response to the COVID shutdown. They have a table outside where they place completed orders. Pickup is a breeze. I'm looking forward to them reopening for indoor seating. read more

The staff are always really friendly and we've been going here for 3 years since we moved to the area. The poke bowls are awesome here and honestly there aren't many options in the area for this style of food. We've had multiple times where they've forgotten to add an extra protein that we paid for and there is inconsistency in the portion size, sometimes the bowls are full and other times they are not. so I am a regular at both Portsmouth and Exeter locations. The food is great and freshly made 99% of the time. The BYO Bowl option is awesome and it's great they now offer picking avocados a protein instead of just an add on. The add of the pickup table outside for contactless should be a permeant thing post pandemic as it makes it much faster to pick it up during a lunch break. I always do online ordering. That system is great. Orders at Portsmouth are always ready early and orders at Exeter are more or less on time or just a few mins behind. They are pretty constant on that at any hour of the day. If you are located in between both Portsmouth and Exeter locations, I would choose Portsmouth. Never has Portsmouth given me bad quality ingredients or the wrong order. Exeter has messed up my order a few times and quality control on ingredients is subpar especially when compared to the Portsmouth location. Examples: brown or stringy avocados (this one happens a lot at Exeter), addition of mint to bowl (unrequested) that tasted like tooth paste, other additional ingredients not requested but easy to pick out. At both locations, The employees are always pleasant and friendly though! Def worth the try, just go to the Portsmouth one if you can. read more

Haven't been here in a minute and decided to swing in after a track meet with my son. The cashier seemed new and was very softspoken. Initially she called (what I thought was) my name and I grabbed the bag from her. I really should've asked her to repeat the name, because we went to the table and opened the food and as we were taking the lids off, she walked over to tell us it was someone else's (sorry Rihanna!). I felt terrible that she was obviously still getting her footing as new employee and I threw her a big curve ball. Then, when our food eventually came out, mine was missing avocado. I brought it up to the counter and asked "have I just not gotten to it yet (their bowls have lots of layers and pockets with treasures) or did this not come with avocado?" and she replied that when I ordered, I substituted chicken. I gently corrected her that I asked to "add chicken" and again, I chalk this up to the learning curve of food service- we were all teenagers working our first jobs once. No big deal, grabbed the avocado off of Rihanna's bowl (thanks, Rihanna!) and then didn't feel so guilty about wasting that food we touched. Dinner was great, but the real reason for the 5-star review? After watching this kind of clunky exchange play out from afar, the manager came over and checked in, then came back when we were nearly finished to offer us a discount, which we declined because it was totally unnecessary. They had an unexpectedly busy night and though there were some hiccups the manager went out of his way to check in twice and make sure we were good. If you are gonna charge $4 for cold hard spam that's been sitting on your counter for god knows how long, the least you could do is make it right! AWESOME!! I love this place! I HATE sushi but my daughter loves it. I mean I literally think she could live off of it anyhow she came home for a visit during Thanksgiving and we went in for lunch and I tried some shrimp and rice bowl thing my daughter had to order for me (everything was cooked) wow!! I think they're spot on for the fish and the shrimp because that can be expensive but the fact that it costs only $2 less to get chicken just doesn't seem right. And the chicken was very plain and unseasoned. I wish you offered a cooked fish option for people who can't have uncooked seafood (pregnant), I know there's chicken and tofu but salmon would just be so much better and more worth it. I also didn't understand why when I ordered it ahead it said it would take 35 minutes to be ready. When I got there 35 minutes later there was literally one other customer sitting down eating and my food was sitting out on the counter for who knows how long. I've been a weekly patron at Ohana with my husband for a long time. We order the same custom poke bowls every time and have been pleased with the quality of the fish and the rice, the atmosphere, and the service -- up until recently. Good customer service = acknowledging when you've made an error and working to correct the error. One employee here seems incapable of this. In the first instance, she accidentally charged us for 3 bowls instead of 2 when pulling up our saved custom order, and made them to-go instead of to-stay without asking us which we'd prefer. We figured she had a bad day and didn't say anything. We came back and she automatically did the same thing again, and suggested it was because of our order history (we've never ordered 3 bowls). Other employees have had no issue pulling up our custom bowls in the system correctly. In the second instance, soy sauce unexpectedly appeared in my poke bowl (I'm celiac so gluten-free). I brought it to the attention of the same employee. She said I should've requested it without it. I showed her that my husband's bowl prepared at the same time under the same saved order didn't have soy sauce on it, and we'd been weekly regulars for a year or so who have never had soy sauce automatically added to our bowls. Instead of apologizing or trying to figure out what went awry, she claimed she had been there since the place opened (I've only seen her in the last month or so) and that soy sauce has been added to all the bowls since the beginning. She blamed me for the incident, lied to make herself look better, begrudgingly made a new bowl, and generally made me feel awful. To top it off, the last 4 visits have included minor quality issues we kept hoping were just because of an off night (hard stuck together rice, excessive use of vinegar to the point of the bowl not being palatable). Maybe they're going downhill, or maybe this is one bad egg. Either way it is a bummer because we used to love this place. So long, old friend - I'll stick with eateries that employ people who are respectful and honest when they err. read more

I enjoy the poke bowls from Ohana and have been regularly ordering delivery. I have to rethink doing this in the future because something is wrong or missing every time especially with the sauces. I like to order extra sauce because the containers are small but I rarely get the extra I've ordered and paid for. Shrimp has been missing from my bowl, the wrong veggies have been added and the correct veggies omitted. Frustrating to pay close to $25 for a poke bowl including the added delivery fee and tip and not even get what you ordered. read more

This was my first time trying this fairly new restaurant in Exeter, although my daughter has eaten here regularly since they opened. I was impressed and in love from the first bite of my spicy crunchy ahi bowl with sushi rice and added sweet potato. The place is clean and well organized, with very relaxing music playing. This place should be packed. The food is fresh and tasty. The service is excellent and friendly. My daughter got the SoyBoy with sushi rice which is her favorite as well. Popped in here not knowing what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised! Small quaint place with a laid-back Hawaiian atmosphere. The poké bowls were awesome size.
