Overcooked Prime Ribeye, way over baked potato, undercooked Surf & overcooked Turf.
    Kristi L.

We arrived just before sunset and had a somewhat difficult time finding the front entrance as we came down the hill by the lake. After driving past, turning around and returning we found our way in. The restaurant and patio are beautiful and the staff were so friendly as we were seated and placed our drink order. We ordered the Ahi Tuna for $20 (Sesame Crusted, Pickled Ginger, Cucumber Spaghetti, and House Ponzu Sauce) as our appetizer and asked if they might have any wasabi, which we were told they would check. It came out without any and we commented they must not have it, but our server said she would double check. After finishing it, another person cleared our plates so we never did get an answer to that question. For dinner, my husband ordered the 20-oz. USDA Prime Boneless Ribeye for $58 cooked medium rare (after describing how he wanted it seared on the outside and bloody red on the inside) with a side of Yukon Gold Whipped Potatoes for $8. I ordered the Surf and Turf (a sliced Flat Iron Steak topped with 5 small Shrimp Scampi) and a Loaded Baked Potato on the side for $10. What a HUGE disappointment! The steaks were hockey pucks, the shrimp was undercooked , and the baked potato was done at least two days ago - I've never seen such a dried out potato in my life. We showed the server and she brought the manager over to see it as well. After sending it all back and asking for the check, we were brought a bill on which they took off 50% of each of our entrees. That's when my husband lost it, told the server he would not pay that and wanted to speak with the manager again. She took the bill back to them and they removed both entrees and the manager brought it back to us. The manager acted like somehow this was our fault when we simply didn't want to pay for something we couldn't eat. We paid the bill even though a glass of wine I didn't get to touch was still on it. I'm sorry that my husband's voice carries but it never had to go this far. We will never return.

Sea bass -- see the steak at the top of the photo? Sitting there all alone and overcooked?

I visit O about once a year while visiting friends in NH. I think it's one of those places where you have fun in spite of the food. The ambiance is very nice . You can look out at a lovely lake and the place has a festive feeling. We had a friendly server but toward the end she didn't check on us and it took forever to get dessert. All that would be ok if the food was great but sadly it isn't. Soup special was good and the salads are good too. My husband ordered a filet for 46$ and it just came sitting all by itself on a white plate. Not an appealing presentation at all . Mashed potatoes came served separately. He ordered rare and it was completely overcooked. He didn't want to send it back because everyone else at the table had their food. I had sea bass which was ok but nothing to rave about. Looking at the menu, things seem overworked like they are trying too hard. We have been disappointed by the food every time but we keep going back because one of the people really enjoys going to O and it makes her happy. I wish it made me happy. Drinks are good and that helps.

The service was absolutely amazing! My husband and daughter loved their steaks!! My son should have stuck with potstickers and not got the burger.. I got the pesto shrimp.. the pasta was a bit gummy but taste was really good and the shrimp was large and yummy. Only complaint was the pasta was gummy..

Stopped by after 8:30 with no reservations and 7 in our party during Laconia's 100th Motorcycle week. They were able to accommodate us haggard, rugged looking bikers who rode all day in the cold and rain in the am then baked in the sun all afternoon. Mind you we still had to drive an hour away to our lodging. Service was fast, our server was excellent and gave us those warm bread with the tasty butter. My friend got the tomahawk steak and was surprised at the bill since he was too distracted to hear the price of the special in the beginning. The sirloin tips were nicely marinated and for me, the addition of the blue cheese elevated my steak. Overall, a nicer dinner for us that day. The ambiance of the place is nice and gorgeous especially facing the sunset!! Great place for a dinner date.

I don't typically think of hotel restaurants as great dining options, but O certainly proved me wrong. We were staying at the hotel for one night and decided to try it out - and I'm glad we did. The food and cocktails were delicious and the portions were generous. I especially liked our server who was attentive and funny. The complimentary garlic bread in a bag was another huge highlight - it was so good! One thing to note is that a couple of the menu items we asked for weren't actually offered, and according to our server, never are. For example - the truffle cheddar upgrade isn't actually available for the burger and the creme brûlée is always vanilla despite being described as the chef's rotating selection. Overall, it was a lovely dinner at a decent price point. I'd definitely recommend stopping in!

We normally do not go out on Holidays. But it was our 20th wedding anniversary and our daughters surprised us with reservations and paid for our night out. Our first time here, went in and the host & Hostess were wonderful and nice! We were seated given menus, seating we had was rather well not the best, we are full sized people. We asked to be moved to give our waiter more room to maneuver. They happily moved us a table over. It was a 5 course prefixed meal, I had the Chicken satay , green mixed salad w/ candied walnuts and cranberry's and blue cheese & apples w/ vinaigrette Then I had prime rib , Brussels sprouts & bacon & agrautin potatoes, Creme brûlée Every thing was perfect! Husband had Tuna , Cesar salad , the Lamb shank w/ mashed and creamed spinach, said all was amazing! And our waiter Matt & his mom are awesome ! Thank you for a wonderful night!

Bad Mother's Day experience. Alot of little things that added up to an awful experience. From the seating to the terrible side dishes.

The first thing we noticed when we walked in the door was that Christmas smacked us in the face with the best smelling Christmas Tree candle , burning in a super cute entryway. I could hardly wait to get inside to see what else this place had in store. First, there was a fireplace and a couch and a table. In the rest of the dining area, we're all high tops. Not so high that a barely over 5 foot person such as myself couldn't sit comfortably. Our waitstaff (there were two) and were great about offering menu suggestions when I shared flavor profiles I might be looking for and they were attentive and so pleasant. They had super cute Christmas decorations, and were putting up more while we were there. The vibe is super warm and welcoming, and for a short while you feel like you stepped back in time. The tiramisu martini was delicious, as was the blood orange martini. I had the cauliflower with juju sauce at the recommendation of the waitress, and it was honestly the best cauliflower I've ever had! My husband enjoyed his macaroni and cheese with buffalo and bleu as well. The owner/chef, Leslie, came and chatted with us for a little bit before we were on our way. We learned that in the summer they hold concerts, and they have a golf course. There is a distillery on site as well. Everything about this place was excellent, and we are already planning a day date to go back and try more menu items!

This is a lovely restaurant that sits alongside Meredith Bay on Lake Winnipesaukee. There are a number of seating choices including bar, high top and conventional tables, many with views of the lake. This time of the year, the views of the snow-covered frozen lake are gorgeous. I wish I could say the same thing about our dinner, which frankly was a disappointment. The menu includes a good variety of starters, appetizers, salads, handhelds, and entrees. Two of us ordered the Flat Iron Steak. I realize this is usually a chewier cut of meat, but this was so tough it was inedible. Our server and the manager both could not have been nicer in terms of how they handled this as I returned mine and was quickly brought a different dinner- a French Dip sandwich. This was tasty but there was more bread than roast beef. The other person chose to keep her flat iron streak, but I could tell it was very difficult to cut and chew. Another ordered the Chicken Milanese Salad which included arugula, peppers, roasted tomatoes and olives in a balsamic dressing. The Parmesan crusted pan fried chicken came over-done but that meal was well-liked. The service and the ambiance were stellar.
