My wife and I stopped here on our way to North Conway. A burger sounded like a good lunch idea so we decided to give it a try. Good stuff!! I got the Picnic Basket, and my wife got the Dirty Head. Both burgers were cooked very well and the perfect portion size. We also shared a basket of fries - which were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Overall a perfect stop for lunch. Our waitress was very nice, attentive and helpful. The atmosphere is very cool too; beach vibes with chill music playing. If we come by this way on our way home, we may make a 2nd stop. :) read more

We were exploring New Hampshire from California and happened to pass by Surfside Burger Bar -- and from the moment we saw it from the outside, we knew it was going to be something special. The outdoor snow globes that u could dine in immediately drew us in, and the inside was warm, cozy, and intimate in the best way. But what truly made our experience unforgettable was Andreea. She was our waitress, bartender, and honestly the heart and soul of the place that day. She was taking care of everything -- serving, cleaning, managing the bar -- basically a one-woman show. Yet despite juggling so much, she made us feel completely welcomed, comfortable, and cared for. Her warmth, kindness, and genuine attentiveness added something magical to our visit. This meal became a memory we'll carry forever, and so much of that is because of Andreea and the way she brought the whole place to life. We highly, highly recommend Surfside Burger Bar to absolutely everyone -- whether you're a local or just passing through like we were. We went to Surfside after hiking Gunstock, and we were very hungry. We were seated right away outside, which has a cool, laid-back vibe. Inside was open and had A/C, but the deck just felt right after the hike. We started with the buffalo cauliflower and it was excellent. I ordered a Tubular IPA in a fun can, but unfortunately it was over a year old and tasted off--that was disappointing. The Silverback Burger was actually really good, though a bit pricey considering fries aren't included. My wife had the California burrito and really enjoyed it. We also got the half-and-half fries and onion rings--just okay, and definitely overpriced for what they were. Service was mixed: our waitress was attentive at first, but forgot to bring my wife another soda. That said, when we accidentally left our food behind, she saved it for us, which I really appreciated. OK, but not great. Nice ambiance, friendly staff, reasonable prices for burgers, tacos, etc. -- but mistakes were made and the food was just OK. The grilled cheese with tomato was gooey but lacking in flavor (a low quality grilled cheese sandwich). The fish tacos were good. The pulled pork tacos were good. The fries were standard (nothing special). The onion rings I ordered (substituting for fries) with the pork tacos were quite good. The problem: I was charged $8 for a full order of onion rings, rather than getting a side of onion rings (a few, at a side price). So the onion rings cost more than the grilled cheese sandwich. Really? Ugh. They should differentiate between onion rings as a side for a burger or tacos and a full order (I didn't want a basket of onion rings, nor did the 3 of us eat that many in addition to our tacos / sandwich / fries). So we got more than we wanted at a price out of line with the need - a basket of onion rings for a tale having beers makes sense, as a side to a sandwich or a couple of tacos, not so much. read more

Surfside Burger Bar is one of the most fun places to be in the summer at Lake Winnie. Period. Great food, vibes, and beverages - shitty parking. just because it's always busy and hopping!! They are one location I know has more tables than hands working, nothing bad about it - as the service is beyond smiles. Our gem waitress was delightful and conversational, very energetic and fun!!! Love going there and hanging out in the open air tropical, might be in Hawaii vibe. Definitely a great spot for outdoor energetic people and atmosphere!! We had an interesting experience at Surfside Burger Bar after being really excited to dine-in with our dog! We ended up ordering takeout. The food was very good but our experience was sub-par. We called the restaurant around 7pm on a Tuesday and immediately was told "takeout is going to be about an hour wait" so I asked if there is any available seating instead. We were already in Meredith walking the sculpture walk. They said there's a line waiting to get in then hung up. The women on the phone sounded flustered so I assumed they were understaffed, as everyone is. I wanted to order takeout, even with the hour wait, so I called back. Again, they tell me it's going to be an hour, I say it's ok and they transfer me to another person who told me "so you want to order takeout? and you know it's going to be an hour?" It felt like they really didn't want me to order and trying to scare me away. After we place our takeout order, we decide to walk over to see if there's actually a line for a table. Figured we could grab one and change our takeout order if we decided to eat-in. We get there and there's no line. I had a bad feeling about that! We look and there's quite a few tables open for outdoor seating, although it was cloudy and rain was in the forcast. A waitress comes over and I asked if we could grab a table, and explain that I just called and was told there was a line to be seated so we ordered takeout. She looked weary and said "It's about to rain.. are you sure you want to risk it" I understand restaurants are understaffed, but I couldn't have felt more unwelcome there. I wish I could have just cancelled the takeout order we placed. When our food was ready, an hour wait on the dot, we took everything home to eat. Thankfully, the food was very good! I'm not sure if it was an hour wait worthy, but it was tasty. I ordered the Silverback which had bacon,banana, blackberry jam and peanut butter on it. I will ALWAYS order a burger with PB if its on the menu, and this one didn't disappoint. The banana could have been sliced or flambéed, but it worked! The fried pickles could definitely be skipped. The fries & tots were both awesome! It would have been a much more enjoyable experience if we were treated better and if we were able to dine-in, but all in all, the food was very good so I'm giving it 4-stars. I understand times are tough with restaurants being understaffed, so I don't want to knock off stars based on that. So yummy! And so super filling, but so worth it! We treated ourselves to these bad boys after a hike in the morning and they really hit the spot! The Slightly Stoopid burger has its place on the top of the menu for good reason and had all the makings of a dank burger. It may be slightly stoopid but I'd call it an extra smart choice. The Hangover burger is very similar (same sauce) but is topped with a runny egg, giving it a tasty richness and making an already messy burger a little more messy. If you can embrace the mess and grab some of their house seasoned fries to dip in the aftermath, you're doing something right. Don't expect your food to come out right away--they get busy in the spring and summer and you can't pre-make or rush perfection! read more

The shredded barbecue pork sandwich is insanely good and my husband loved his burger.

My wife and I have eaten here several times and we're never disappointed! We've had just about everything on the menu; it's all amazing! Staff is always friendly and accommodating. Fried pickles and jalapeños really hit the spot and the Surfie Turf Burrito was delicious and one of my favorite burritos now. Gorgeous dog friendly patio with lots of colorful flowers created an inviting atmosphere off the bat. We chose to eat inside and it gave major tiki bar beach hut vibes with reggae music playing through the speakers a bit too loudly. We were promptly greeted by Jessie who told us we could sit anywhere. Despite every table being full within 5 minutes of us sitting down, Jessie was back quickly to take our cocktail order and then our food order. She is the only one working inside and is very efficient. Our cocktails were delivered within 2 minutes of being ordered. They were fruity and strong, very refreshing on a hot day. Consistently through the meal she checked on us while also checking on other tables, bussing tables, running plates, making drinks, and delivering them. Jessie is the real MVP of Surfside! Our food was delivered and right away we were delighted by the crispy salt & peppered fries. The chicken sandwich was huge with tender meat, a perfectly cooked fried egg, three types of cheese, onion rings and the star of the show: fried jalapeños. The burger was good, but the bun was too big for the patty. The coleslaw wasn't super flavorful. Overall I wasn't over the moon about the burger, but I ate every bite so clearly I didn't hate it. The only downsides about this meal: - fries are not included with the sandwiches which is pretty standard for this type of fare - garnish doesn't come on the sandwiches, so be sure to ask to add lettuce, tomato, and pickle - higher than average price point - only one restroom which is always occupied and causes a line to form in the dining area Despite the downsides, it was overall a 5 star experience. DO NOT EVEN TRY IT! BEWARE! NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY! Rudest Staff All Around. They hate tourists! My family and I showed up tonight on a Wednesday evening at 6:15PM. We were immediately greeted with "We are not seating outside". We then were asked...how many? Four of us please. Whoever the rude person was just simply pointed out the restaurant was full and we would need to wait 20-30 minutes. They took our name and number and said they would call us. Remember this for later..."20-30 minutes". We left and went for a walk in the park. We went back 25 minutes later and much to our surprise we were told our table was given away. Rude person said..."I called your phone twice and you didn't pickup so I gave your table away. She was kind of laughing and immediately just went back to what she was doing. We were just left standing there. Now in all fairness she did call us but that was a mere 3 minutes before we walked back in. We didn't hear the phone ring as we were walking and talking. So remember, she gave us a 20-30 minute window which we came back within, but yet when we didn't pick up her call within 3 minutes our table was given to someone else. The logic does not make sense. She gets to give us 20-30 minutes but we can't even get 3 minutes to hold our table. In summary, we didn't get to eat here and will never go back. This place is just a joke and not family friendly. Tourism is what gives your rude staff a job and to hate tourists and treat them badly hopefully will drive this dive out of business. There are plenty of other great, friendly places in Meredith to eat, so best to stay away from this tourist hating, rude staff, dive. Instead of calling this place Surfside, they should call it Angrystaff. read more

Outside seating available in the igloo. We went at night so it was too cold to sit out there. It's very small on the inside, not many tables. Luckily we only waited 5 minutes. The service was a little slow even with only a few tables. The food...amazing. The hamburgers are made with fresh beef from a New Hampshire farm about an hour away. I got the hangover. It comes with cheese, fried jalapeños, peppered bacon, crispy onion ring, chipotle ranch drizzle and topped with a fried egg. After ordering I got a little nervous. I've gotten burgers with egg on it before and they have been runny and gross. That was not the case tonight. All the ingredients complimented each other. The egg runoff mixed in perfectly with the burger. Every bite tasted better than the last. Also got a side order of fries and onion rings. The fries were very crispy and seasoned. The onion rings were almost like frizzles. Cut very thin in a circle and battered. Each would have been a great combination with the burger, luckily I had both.
