I am embarrassed that I've driven by this place a million times without trying it. So the three of us gave it a try. We started with fried pickles ($10). They were so good, served with a nice sauce, and there was plenty to share. I got the California Burrito ($20), my wife got the "Surfie Turf Burrito" ($20) and my daughter got the "smash mouth tacos" ($14) . For drinks, by wife and I got a draft Maine Lunch (a little "steep" at $11 each) and my daughter got a specialty berry drink ($11). The Burritos were very flavorful and the ingredients were fresh. My daughter's tacos were amazingly good. The portions for the main meals are average. I don't know why people say this is a "pricey" place, as everything was fairly priced in my opinion, except for the draft craft beers. All-in-all, this place is a keeper. Other than being a little pricey the food here is delicious. Peanut butter and jelly makes a great combo with a burger! The strawberry and watermelon syrups made for amazing coke combinations and the fish and chips was also really good. Andrea was the nicest, most attentive waitress. You can't miss this ice cream place turned into a tiki-bar-micro-brew eatery. Across from Hannaford and on Rt. 25 it's a smorgasbord of burgers, beer and ice cream with both indoor and outdoor seating. Service is prompt if a bit chaotic. The young staff does a great job servicing the sometimes large crowds that flock to this place. The beer selection is interesting and includes both draft and cans/bottles and has an amazing array not always seen in the Lakes Region. This was by far the best place we ate at while on vacation. The portions were huge!! We got the sampler platter and it could have been a meal for the four of us. We all ordered burgers and fries and stoopid tots before we knew how big the portions were. We took a lot of food home. The place was tiny but the food was excellent!! What a surprising and fun uplifting find in Lake Winnepesaukee. We stayed at the Mills Inn and found that the town was a little more uptight and less friendly than our normal lake towns and stumbled on this place because they had the nest plastic "igloos" outside... Essentially plastic jungle gym frames covered in plastic and lights. The inside was a light hearted kitchsy surf hut with good, strong drinks and good fried food. The "Stoopid Fries" were seasoned with a great spicy chipotle sauce and the Gouda mac and cheese bites were surprisingly worth it... Not dry snd had a Gouda taste. Highly recommend for a fun time if you like reggae music snd straw brimmed huts. The drinks we had were definitely good, quick and $12-14 with each having a dash of 4-5 liquors in each. We had the voodoo umbrella and liquid Mary Jane? Delish. read more

After a long hot day of doing work in the area, I walked over to Flurries, which is located across the street from Hannaford and Rite Aid. The place was very busy. Flurries is a seasonal drive-in eatery which serves up burgers, hot dogs, seafood rolls, fried seafood, fried foods, plus JB Scoops Homemade Ice Cream and soft serve treats including flurries, cones, sundaes, shakes, and more. Most sandwiches can be upgraded to a combo meal (fries and small Pepsi fountain drink) for $2.65 more. The prices are moderate, most combos in the $7-$14 range, but it's in touristy Meredith. There are separate windows for ice cream and regular food and colorful picnic table seating out front and indoor seating too. I had a Tuna Roll Combo ($7.15 with tax) which was up in 10 minutes after they called my name over the PA system. The tuna roll was decent, piled on a New England roll, very light and minced with chopped celery and leaf lettuce, not much mayo. The fries were golden brown, very typical drive-in fare. Went to this place yesterday and was a little appalled about the price of things. I understand inflation and paying a livable wage but what I don't understand is the lack of vegetarian options and it costs extra to swap the normal meat burger with the veggie option. When you can order a plain veggie burger for less than a plain beef burger is just seems greedy to ask for more on top of a 15-dollar burger. Please take into consideration being able to switch parties at no charge. It's not charging anyone more to make so it shouldn't charge the customers as well. read more

Not really our kind of place, but the food was tasty and our server very helpful and cheerful. (We had actually intended to go to another place nearby but it turned out to be closed.) The deep-fried mac-and-Gouda bites (or whatever they call them) were especially good. But the only seating was outdoors under a sort of pergola, with no protection from the sun or rain, at high-top tables with backless metal stools -- not super-comfy for us old folks. This got so many great reviews from family & friends so after 15 years, timing was right; stopped in (to pick up take out) while riding home to get a great sounding chicken sandwich. Imagine my disappointment when I unwrapped the $16+ sandwich to find 2 small strips of chicken, and overwhelming amount (a/k/a "drowning") amount of sauce on an enormous roll, completely over encapsulating the small chicken strips. I went down to the Flurries Surfside in Meredith to get something to eat with friends. When I stepped out of my car I could see the nice clean picnic tables outside with umbrellas on top to shield people from the shade. I went to order my meal. I got a hamburger, fries and a drink. My drink was nice and fizzy. My burger was delicious and well done. The fries were a good size not too big and not too small. Everything tasted great. My friends had gotten chili dogs and said they were tasty. The service and staff were polite and friendly. The price for my order was pretty decent. Overall I had a pretty good experience with Flurries Surfside and would recommend anyone in the area to check it out. The location is also beautiful. Right on the lake. read more

Although this restaurant has an overall good reputation, they appear to be unable to handle the current staffing shortage, especially in this industry. There was no beverage list, even though there were menus (plastic covered). Then, the waitress didn't know what beers were available and referred us to the QR code on the table. Fortunately, we had a QR reader, but it took several minutes to access their website and navigate to the beer section. Several dishes were overcooked, including the fish tacos and the onion rings. Also, there was skimpy portions. The aforementioned onion rings were very thin..., hardly any onion at all. The grilled chicken in one sandwich was very small..., got lost inside the bun. Finally, they were out of some condiments, including cilantro, which were part of a very popular menu item, but no one thought to walk across the street to the Hannaford supermarket to restock. All-in-all, the ownership seems to be overwhelmed by the current economy. The wait staff obviously isn't brought up-to-date on the inventory, prior to their shift. There's also an apparently a shortage of cooks, which explains the poorly cooked meals and the condiment shortage. Hopefully, ownership will start paying more attention to their business so they can more easily navigate these tough times. read more

Ate at this place for the first time today. At first I missed the place because it looks like it got re designed, but looks much better than what the pictures showed. The atmosphere was pretty good, and the songs pretty much reflected my playlist (reggae/beach music) so I give an A+ on that. Seating was a little confusing at first, did not know we could seat ourselves, but afterwards everything seemed good. I got the Dank Flank burger, which I have to say is dankkk, even by my standards. Even though it's the most expensive burger ($18), I recommend getting it. It's a burger that has flank steak on top of it with avocado, special cheeses. It's hard to describe the taste but I give it an 11/10. The only reason why I did not give 5 stars is because you do not get a side with your burger, not even fries. You have to pay extra if you want a side. The fries were good, but the side I chose was coleslaw. Honestly I advise not getting it because it didn't seem like there was enough vinegar. Overall they did very good on the burgers, best burger I've had, but if I'm getting an $18 burger, I thought I'd at least get fries with it. That is the only reason why this post is not 5 stars. These folks are doing the tiki bar atmosphere right. The 30min wait turned into about a 5min wait if you're on board with indoor (distanced) seating. The outdoor is perfect, though, with plenty of space and staff to handle all comers. The evenings are made complete with live entertainment from what I can tell as I drive by every day on my way home from work. Even when temps were down in the 50's, they still draw a crowd outdoors. The menu selection is quite varied, and you're sure to find something you've never seen or thought of before. My buddy and I got a large order of tots, and they're SWEET POTATO TOTS [with real maple syrup]! Generous servings and not out-of-touch prices, makes me wonder why I waited so long to check them out. This was a spur of the moment stop while traveling through the area. We were hungry and it had great curb appeal. We were greeted warmly and told to choose where we wanted to sit. We found a nice table for two in the corner outside. There's a great selection of beers, the ones we ordered were ice cold. Definitely try the Stoopid fries! French fries with a chipotle drizzle and bacon, you dip in guacamole. (Don't knock em til you try em!) My husband had fish tacos and I had the steak ones. We ordered online 2 different meals , I asked for my burger Well done in the description in all caps and yet i bite into it and half of it is pink !! And the other half is cooked !! Wtf don't call yourself a "burger bar" if you can't even cook one fully the right way ! Stopped in today with high expectations. These started to go down hill as soon as we sat down. We sat inside and the table was dirty. The waitress (well kind of a waitress, she definitely wasn't looking to provide great or even good service) noticed it was dirty and said she'd be back to clean it. She never came back to the table again. Another girl came and delivered our draft beers. They were warm - we sent them back and asked for a bottle instead. We ordered our food. It came promptly however the order was incorrect. We had asked for onion rings and it was served with fries. No one ever checked on us or the meals. We went to the counter to pay our bill and were told $40 or so dollars. I asked to see the bill and she said a printout? How else can I see it? Of course the bill was wrong. It had our original draft beers on there not the bottles. So new total $35. I honestly thought that draft beers would be cheaper than bottles. Neither were priced. Needless to say, food was average (would have loved to order a lobster roll but $25????? You've got to be kidding!), draft beer was warm, tables dirty, service was non-existent and staff need training and a check on their appearance - not mid drifts showing their fat belly. read more
