Prices are a bit higher than I expected but decided to try anyway. Got marinated tips. The meat was very good. Not sure it would be a place to buy all my meats at this price but will be back. Service was great and they were friendly. read more

Best place to go if you want really good food and are tired of cooking. When I have company coming it my go to place if I don't feel like cooking. Easy and quick service. Price is a little expensive but you know it's consistent and you can count on it being good. read more

I enjoy their food and cuts of meat and have been a loyal customer over the years. However, with their new 3% surcharge for using a credit card on top of all their recent price increases, I've decided to take my business elsewhere. read more

They advertised wood fired pizza. I didn't smell any wood smoke. The crust was thick and chewy, obviously not cooked at a high temperature, which was also clear from the long wait. A wood-fired pizza will be done in 90 seconds to two minutes. The cheese was unlike anything I have seen on a pizza; it was very thick and gooey. Disgusting! The only positive note: the vegetables were very fresh. I ate a couple of slices because I was very hungry, and threw the rest in the trash. Eigfhteen-plus dollars wasted. In Meredith you can get a decent pizza (no, not wood-fired, just decent quality) at the Mobil Station across from the town docks for less than ten dollars. read more

Been drive past this place for years finally stop to try it out.was up there for fishing derby and got the family pack. it was incredible. Three big guys who can eat. we had trouble eating it all in one weekend. The steak tip were amazing. Will go back.. read more

One of the Jewels of Meredith in my opinion. Yes you pay a bit more but the meats and prepared foods here are uniquely fresh and of a very high quality. There are multiple versions of marinated steak tips which are great to grill. And the same applies to the marinated chicken breasts- about as big as I've ever seen. They also have prepared foods which just need to be reheated. The pizza is one of the better in the area using higher quality fresh ingredients but it's usually under-cooked and unnecessarily doughy and much too expensive. The wine is limited but generally very good- usually wines you won't find in the NH Wine stores. I've had good to excellent service here every time, so haven't experienced the same issues as a few others. Bottom line is if you're looking for higher quality meats and prepared foods and don't mind paying more, this is a great find. read more

The Wine'ing Butcher - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - Meredith, New Hampshire

See all

Good place to buy meat if you can afford it, but we got the worst (skimpiest) turkey sub and Greek salad we've ever seen! My high school cafeteria made a better sub. Buy your steak tips here, but hit the local sub shop or gas station for sandwiches. read more

The Wine'ing Butcher - a person holding a sandwich - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - Meredith, New Hampshire

I'll tell ya what, place is good. However; when you are inside an establishment and want to order a pizza at 5:30 and they tell you, yeah sorry we can't take anymore orders because we are backed up, well its time to call it a day. So reward the people who called in their orders and punish the people who were here to shop on Friday June 18th at 5:30 pm. Ownership you should take a good look at this review and discuss how this is allowed to happen, instead of your social media employee flagging it. I bought $100 worth of tips last week and i'm pretty certain that's the last time i'll be entering this place. Oh and surprise they are out of Broccoli salad AGAIN as usual. Enough is enough, i've been nothing but loyal to this place over the years, i guess its too much to ask to take a real live in person order. food quality - good Price value - meh Experience- awful Its the lakes region, enjoy mediocrity and being treated like you don't matter. read more

Came in with my boyfriend to grab some steaks for dinner. Was a little disappointed with not a huge selection. Steaks were also already pre cut. We got the largest filet they had (maybe 8oz?) and a ribeye that was a nice size with good marbling. The 2 steaks were like $50ish which I thought was a little expensive but they are the only butcher shop in Meredith so ok. Came home. Butter basted them in a cast iron skillet with some fresh herbs. The filet was great. The was also good. No left overs. Over all good steaks but I wish they'd cut fresh and have some dry aged options. read more

We occasionally stop for the meat lovers pizza. This pizza won a Best pizza in Meredith contest a couple of years ago. Normally, we'd give them higher ratings, because their meat is fresh (although very pricey). However, after a Sunday hike we phoned in a pizza order for curbside pickup around 1:00. The order taker was kind and courteous. We were asked to call again upon arrival and they'd bring it out to the picnic table. We tried! 4 phone calls spaced out 15 minutes, and no one answered any of our calls. There were only 3 cars out front. Hubby had to go in, wait in a slow short line, just to ask for our pizza. For folks like us (high risk), this was frustrating. read more

LOVE The Wine'ing Butcher. We're actually spoiled because we live near their sister shop in Virginia. We go there regularly both to eat lunch there or to pick up marinated meat to cook on the grill at home. Then we come up to Lake Winnipesaukee for summer vacation and get to stop at this Wine'ing Butcher to pick up more goodies to grill. I was particularly excited this summer that they had the maple bourbon steak tips. Oh my they are SO good! We've been missing that flavor down at the Virginia location. We actually spent Christmas up here at the lake last year, and we ordered our Christmas dinner from Wine'ing Butcher. It was EXCELLENT. This location appears to have a much bigger bear selection and a much smaller wine selection than Virginia. At first I was a little excited to check out the beer, but then as I browsed the shelves it was all IPA, IPA, IPA, IPA, IPA, IPA and a couple of sours. That seemed to be a common theme in NH this summer. I'm not a fan of either IPA or sour, but hey, I came here for the marinated steak tips not the beer, right? Oh, we also love the key west chicken, the house steak tips, and the fire steak tips, too. read more

Great meats for the bbq. Meredith location has pizza oven and more to offer than Gilford location

Stopped in today too get a few ribeyes they had one small boneless one and two with bone in all bone hardly and meat $25 lb for mostly bone ? We walked out went to hannaford's they had what we were looking for read more

My husband and I were in the area so we decided to try two of the chicken wings flavors. We got the teriyaki wings and the house wings. Unfortunately, neither had any flavor. We felt like we wasted money. We had high hopes but we're disappointed. We almost bought steak tips so are glad we didn't. For the money, we were expecting flavorful wings. read more

Food is delicious. The buffalo chicken ranch pizza is amazing! Mike, the manager, is so friendly and always goes above and beyond to make sure my order is perfect! First thing that hits you when you walk into this place is the amazing smell. The smell alone is delicious. I am in this area of New Hampshire regularly and the Wine'ing Butcher is a must stop. Staff is courteous and the food is fresh and properly prepared. Huge fan of their burgers and salads (Cobb is my favorite) Be sure to stop in for lunch or grab some meat for dinner from their great selection. You won't be disappointed. read more

Vary nice atmosphere, good selection, and attentive staff. I fond I like the butcher better than the one in Concord. They also have gourmet/artisan selections read more

If you're looking for some delicious meat, and additionally a bite to eat, this is the place that deserves your business. The boy with the short purple hair always goes out of his way to serve me and ensure I have the best experience. It's so nice to find young people these days so respectful and truly committed to their work. Bravo! read more

The Wine'ing Butcher has gone downhill. We used to get very flavorful, tender ribeye steaks there. But this past summer we tried the ribeyes 3 times and each time the steaks were tough and lacking in flavor. I wonder if the are using a different supplier. It's disappointing for the price you pay. read more

Fabulous items to choose from and terrific customer service. Decent wine selection and the desserts are out of this world. So convenient to get there! read more

Place is so awesome! Best part - They will Kryo-Vac your meats if you ask. Only dabbled into the steak tips but they are all phenomenal. If I only had one pick: Garlic and Pepper Plus is A MUST GO read more

I stop at the Wine'ing butcher every Friday on my way home. Whether i pick up steaks, marinated tips or seafood the food I cook up from here is always superb. Recently I have been favoring the seafood such as the salmon, shrimp kabobs and scallops. The prices are high but the seafood is very fresh so much better than any of the area grocery stores. For a memorable steak and great advice on cooking methods visit the meat counter. Top chef quality butcher shop! In the deli are I am so please they carry Boars Head meats and a nice variety of specialty cheeses, but the Tomato Bruchetta is my favorite! I use this savory concoction on everything, even my omelets. Delicious! If I am lucky I catch a wine tasting. Sampling their picks and hearing about food pairings is great and the price of their wine is reasonable. Glad you moved into town Wine'ing Butcher. read more

Manager was very rude, we drove a long distance to purchase items that they have posted on their website only to find out the website is false advertising. When we told the manager we had made the trip because of the website he shrugged his shoulders and said oh well and followed with a long conversation about how we could not afford it anyway. I now know why the place was empty. Bedford location read more

Online ordering of take out isn't offered, they ask you to call which is fine but I called right at opening 3 times over 20 minutes and no one picked up the phone. I drove to place my order in person and it was not busy. Why could no one pick up the phone? This is not the first time I have experienced this. I try to give grace as the times are hard, but physically saw no excuse to not answer the phone. read more

Decent food, but regardless of whether I'm the only customer in the space or if there are 10-20 others in, it takes them 20 minutes or more to make a sandwich. A single sandwich comprising the entire order. Disappointing. read more

Shout Out to Billy the Butcher!! Excellent customer service. He helped me pick out the perfect Chicken Parm. Billy got me a 'Prime Loyalty Card' so I can start earning points towards anything in the store. Billy's cust service went beyond what's expected as I hobbled out of the store on a bum leg he held door open for me. I highly recommend 'Take Home Dinner Options' chicken parm & lasagna. Wonderful experience! read more

Love the take out option here, they change the menu prices often or at least it seems. The beef stew and butchers block pizza are favorites at my work place read more

The steak tips are good; but that's it. Its always a crap shoot as to what they may or may not actually have in the store. Many excuses but little service. Even when meat (at a butcher shop mind you) is ordered well in advance there is a less than 50% chance that what you ordered will actually be available as promised. Plenty of excuses - broken blades, meat grinder issues. Ordered ground beef and ground pork a week ago, went to pick it up. Nope. Another lame excuse. And it is not just this time and it is not just once or twice, and it is not because it is "off season". It is routine with both Meredith and Gilford stores and it is no way to run a business. read more

I have been multiple times and every time the meat is the best tasting I've had - better than restaurants and far far superior to grocery stores. You really can taste the different. Great flavor and so tender. Highly recommended read more

Love the steak tips, they are tender and the marinades are fantastic. Also have to try their crab cakes which are best in the area.

I had a marguerita pizza and was very disappointed. Probably the worst one I have ever had. My husband ordered the Philly Cheese steak sandwich. He liked it but I thought it was way too greasy and was disappointed in it also. No need to go again. read more

They never could get my sub orders correct. Tasted good but never right. Prices a little high but nice selection

I'm in love. The tips are beautiful and only 9.99 a pound all ready to throw on the grill. Bought some delicious greek marinated lamb was a hit with a friend who normally hates it. Super mild and well seasoned. Can't wait to grab some tips, brocolli, and sweet potatoes for dinner tonight. *drool* read more

I am so happy to finally have a gourmet deli so close! I was totally impressed at the selection of marinaded meats, salads, and pastries they had to offer, all at very reasonable prices! I also enjoyed the selection of various obscure food and wine items they had, I really would like to see them expand their selection of beers from across the country, starting with some anchor steam fat tire etc. or just some beer that case'n'keg doesn't normally carry. The service is always very helpful and friendly and of course the food is always deli-cious! read more

Not bad for a small town. I was impressed with what they have. The key is they don't have a large selection, but what they have is good. Service and staff were good. I think marinated meats is their specialty. Te key west chicken was good. Trying their marinated ribs tonight. read more

Horrible!!.. Been burned twice making the mistake of buying meat here. Outrageously expensive ribeyes that were dry and tough. Tried again hoping it was a one time disappointment. Bought an 11 lb rib roast. Nearly fell over when they charged me nearly $250!!!!! I reluctantly paid for it since it was already cut and wrapped and they assured me it would be fantastic....It was fantastically poor. See previous reviews regarding the outrageous prices they charge for their meats. The wine'ing butcher???.......At these prices what's to whine about?? read more
