12/24/2025 Would give negative stars if i could i had a Terrible experience on christmas eve of all days. They have carts for the disabled but they arent allowed to leave the store so how are the disabled supposed to get in to the store to shop? Youre employees are rude and poorly trained. And poorly managed, the manager i "spoke" too didnt tell me her name just told me that the carts cant leave the store and had no answer for me on how the disabled are supposed to get to them, if they are in the store and not allowed to leave the store.. if they could walk they wouldnt need the cart... im absolutely disgusted and outraged at the treatment of the disabled and the elderly. Haven't been shopping there regularly because the prices average the same as a smaller supermarket closer to home. Have Gift Cards that they will not take in their system because they said the system has changed. NH Law is all gift cards do not expire. Even have the purchase receipt with these cards - how do we get to use them???? All we get told is call the Head Office!!! The head office says the system has changed. That is no help!! read more

Hi, I went to this Hanaford to get some groceries for our trip. My partner (25) and I (25), decided to get some wine for the night and selected a nice rose. Upon checking out, our check out woman very rudely said "I need to see HER I.D. too." In a snappy tone that we did not deserve. I had left my wallet in the car, as I was not aware they would need both of our I.Ds. I have a disability and therefore need a service dog so it's less convenient for me to run out to the car really quick, but I was totally willing to do so! We did question it first, though, by politely saying "Oh we need both I.Ds?" Then, she practically yelled at me "Well YOU'RE shopping with him so OBVIOUSLY I'm going to need your DAMN I.D.." I was stunned, but I've worked a couple of customer service jobs before so maybe she was just having a bad day? So I walked outside to the car and got my I.D.. The thing is, it would have been fine if she was just a basic nice to us.. Like I get her job may be stressful but we weren't holding up a line, and I don't look under 21. When I came back with my I.D., she glared at me the entire way in and acted like I was some kind of criminal. Maybe it's because of my service dog? Perhaps she doesn't have any experience with them? I don't know, but I cried in the car after and now I'm pretty darn furious. She also treated the kind elderly woman behind us with the same mean attitude, so we definitely won't be shopping here again. read more

I do not care for the Hannafords in Meredith, NH or the Hannaford's in Gilford, NH. They both have similar issues- but something that really bothers me is the rude staff. Seriously, such bad attitudes and borderline abusive to people. I have witnessed people being harassed there by staff and also there's a male manager in the Meredith one who is very odd. You make women/people feel uncomfortable. It should actually be reported. read more

I stopped to pick up a few items, not expecting much but this store was so inviting. Nice displays of produce, flowers, just to name a few. And all fall decorations , that I wished I had a big shopping to do so I could spend more time here. A big store, with most everything you need. Clean as well which is a big plus. Glad I stopped in as this seems to be one of the nicest Hannafords around. read more

I am not a local but in my time here in Meredith I have had several great experiences with the staff here. Tonight I called the seafood department 3 minutes before they closed and talked with Derick, he held some haddock filets for me, as well as some seafood stuffing that was only mentioned in a passing comment by me on the phone. He wanted to make sure I had everything I needed for my perfect meal. It wasn't too long ago that the grocery shopping in Meredith was very limited and quite expensive so everyone in the area has been thrilled with Hannaford. The strengths include all of the staples, meats and seafood, deli, beer and wine. The produce is good enough for most of your needs. The service is always friendly and helpful and even on busy summer weekends you can get in and out without much trouble although parking can be a bit of a challenge on weekends. Think about it. On most nights, the vast majority of people in this part of the Lakes region who are eating at home are enjoying food from Hannaford. No- it's not Market Basket or Wegmans but I rate Hannaford 5 stars. They do a great job serving the local community and we're lucky to have this store. read more

My review is strictly on two takeout items I bought on my way home for dinner. One was sushi, and the expiration date was the following day. I ate it on the day prior to expiration, and the rice tasted like it had been cooked three weeks ago and left out to dry. It was completely inedible. I often buy sushi at my neighborhood Hannaford in N Conway, and it is always fresh and restaurant quality. I also bought a Caesar salad. Not sure why it was labeled Caesar other than it had some parmesan cheese sprinkled on it. It was goody and very mediocre. I would have returned both had I realized how bad they were before I left the area. read more

We shopped here for our family vacation... the location is great, the store is small but they have everything.. prices were reasonable! The corn we purchased was not good... when we shucked it- BAD! We got rolls from the bakery for sandwiches and there were little black bugs in them and the chicken thighs we purchased did not have excess skin or fat cut off. The checkout was painless, the staff was great - even if our bread was smoothed :) read more

This store has been very unorganized this summer. It seems there is always inventory stacked up in the aisles making it difficult to navigate around the store. The wait for the deli can be tedious at times. I suppose it's like any other grocery store but it seems that they could clear the aisles esp. on their busier days like Saturday. The store seemed more organized in the past than it has this year. read more

I can't stand shopping here, especially lately. The aisles are narrow to begin with, but the last 5 times I've gone there, they are blocked even more by people stocking shelves. Can't you do this on off-hours? It's ridiculous. I also can't stand that you remove popular items and only substitute your Hannaford brand. Stop telling us what we must buy! You're lucky we are shopping there at all! The final straw for me was the last time I went, you always have Joseph's syrian bread in front of deli, which is a big part of our household but you had substituted your Hannaford brand pita bread, which is terrible by the way. That was IT. Now I shop only at Shaws in Gilford. read more

This is a very good store would recommend can be busy at times but still manageable. They staff are kind and helpful. They have over stalked the shelves. But still good place to go especially when your camping. read more

Another great summer shopping at Hannaford's. Staff is great especially Deli, seafood, meat and check out. They did away with their Customer Service desk. Not sure if that is good or bad. We bought treats from their fresh seafood area a few times and all yummy. To save time their prepacked lunch meat is super convenient and fresh. Their baked goods are always delicious. Just so-so as far as Hannaford Supermarkets go. I do have to say that there are a couple of items here that I cannot get elsewhere, and their produce is often of high quality. The prices are fairly high compared to sister stores. The parking lot is also somewhat of a nightmare to get in and out of--especially in the summer months when the tourists come to the area in droves. I avoid entering this plaza if at all possible! read more

I went into hannafords today and bought a few beers, the self check out was not scanning, I waved over, I think he was a shift manager, in a loud annoyed voice he said WHAT! Which I thought to be very rude as I am always in there as a regular customer, he seemed to be doing nothing and that is the reason I was waving over to him, so he pointed to another staff and told him to see what I wanted, the other staff seemed to be nervous as I think he was new, my stuff still would not scan for him until he tried the bar code numbers, they seemed to work. I just think the manager who was doing nothing could have helped me, just thinking this was very rude behavior. read more

Visiting Meredith for the first time, I was anxious about finding a grocery store. I relieved to discover Hannafords. Traveling with my family of 18 there are many mouths to feed and many needs to meet. Hannmafords vast range of selections at reasonable prices, coupled with the friendly staff, helped meet all of our needs with zero complications.
