Staff was rude and useless. After 30 mins we asked how much longer and our wAitress she said "I don't know". We waited over an hour for our food and saw other larger groups getting food before us. When asking the staff about the wait our waitress repeatedly told us ticket times take 45 mins but it had already long passed 45 mins. When I noted that a larger table who's order she took after ours was already served, instead of apologizing she snapped back and said they placed their order first (despite us seeing visually otherwise). When I called her out on that she finally gave the excuse fried food took longer (but it still took longer than the 45 mins she said). After seeing me confused she finally admitted she submitted our ticket 5 mins later after our apps. The manager also refused to talk to use directly but asked a neighboring table if everything was ok. Clearly they didn't care serving us knowing we were tourist who wouldn't come back. We actually come to this area annually from CA. We were not compensated anything and only given excuses and called wrong. Not to mention we were a table full of POC being served by a predominantly white establishment where other white families were seated after us were fully served and checked out before we even got our food. Not a great feeling. I honestly would've been fine with all the excuses of being understaffed if it didn't get delivered with so much attitude and defensiveness from our waitress. I was just curious about our food. In the end we asked for our food to-go. Came home to half full boxes of two fish and four fries. It's unfortunate we had such a rude experience since the food is actually good. Not worth being told I was wrong by a teen and not shown respect from an adult manager. Upset since my experience with staff at other establishments around the area has been wonderful. DO NOT get the fresh lemonade. From the parking area you can take a stroll along the boardwalk/docks to get to the restaurant. It was a tiny bit confusing as to what gate/door you entered to get to the restaurant, but the staff directed us to the inside or outside dining area. The service wasn't the most attentive, but it was relatively prompt when we asked for anything and the servers were friendly. The fried foods were cooked excellently! The clam strips were tender and the batter was light and crispy. I definitely had enough for later! I didn't try the tacos, but was told they were delicious! What a wonderful place to eat! We rented a boat for the day for our vacation trip to New Hampshire, and we were delighted to find that Town Docks Restaurant has boat parking nearby. We were seated quickly, which was easy since there are many seats available. The food was absolutely amazing. No long waits, and everything came out correctly. The fish and chips were great but not perfect, however the standout meals were the burgers. We didn't try the ice cream place next door but that's definitely a great option for desert. Located right on the lake, Town Docks Restaurant is a casual, fun place. It is primarily arranged out in the open on sand. Umbrellas are available at every table. The small bar area is a great place to sit. The "Steamers" are perfect - hot, sweet, and served with water and butter. My partner had lobster corn chowder. He said it was delicious. The drinks are fun, with a lot of specialty cocktails. Choose a bucket or pineapple as your container and pick your poison! The burgers and lobster rolls seem to be the most popular choices along with soup. They had a GF by as part of their GF menu (rather small). They did a great job with checking about cross contamination. Two suggestions - have some chips that are prepackaged so dips can be offered GF. Also try some GF chowder recipes. read more

I was visiting from out of state and this is my first time in New Hampshire & at the lake. We came by here for a late lunch on a Sunday funday afternoon. Town Docks is right on the lake and has plenty of outdoor seating. It was pretty crowded when we arrived, but we found a table for four pretty quickly right near the outside area. Our waiter was very friendly. Service was a wee bit slow due to the crowd, but I didn't mind. Parking was not terribly hard to find if you don't mind walking a little bit. Food & Drink: I started off with a Hendrick's Cucumber Lemonade ($8) which was really tasty and very refreshing! I also made it a point to order the Lobster Mac & Cheese ($18.99) since this was my first time in the New England area. The bowl was enormous and topped with their signature potato chips. There wasn't a ton of lobster in there, but enough to make it a hearty meal with leftovers. TONS of leftovers from that dish! My bf had the Dock's roast beef which was also piled high and enough to satisfy. I approve of both food and tiki drinks here. I think this is a solid place to stop at if you are looking for a little lunch or dinner spot on the water where you can dress casual and enjoy the New England summer. We ventured out to Meredith one day to check out the town and shops and we were hungry so we made a pit stop in what seemed like a bunch of smaller restaurants connected and sharing shoreline seating. The outdoor seating were picnic tables in the sand adjacent to boat docks. They had funky vinyl tablecloths and there was also an outdoor bar. Many signs stating not feed the ducks and I just assumed it was because they poop all over the place but later learned that may be a tiny problem- the ducks were like my dogs at home, begging for food and coming right up to kids trying to take things (one of them did) but my 2.5 year old was good about following directions - besides she was having more fun coloring and then playing in the sand with sand toys. The servers were in abundance and we had arrived just after 11 for an early lunch. I felt like living on the wild side while on vacation so I ordered a pain killer - well, it came in a small bucket! I liked their clam chowder (white) as well as the mahi mahi tacos which had great toppings but the fish itself felt a tad dry. The place filled up quickly for lunch - all tables were filled by noon! They had a list of live performers on a wall so I presume the night experience is fun as well. Will definitely be back! read more

You cannot go wrong with their lobster rolls! Maine lobster which says it all! Melts in your mouth. It was paired with an amazing potato salad. So full of flavor. Ahi tuna salad was one of the best I've had. Fresh salad with a sesame dressing. Just to die for! Our drinks were great too! Watermelon cooler was refreshing and just the right amount of watermelon. As another Common Man enterprise, it's a well-managed operation that does well being a lake side feet in the sand family and adult destination. Go with adults and sit at one of the two bars. For the family there are plenty of picnic tables with umbrellas. Food options for everyone from salads to chicken nuggets to seafood platters. Even some creative apps. Lines are to be expected on summer weekends, but, the managers are top notch and keep things moving. Best seats for adults and couples: try upstairs away from the crowds. We love the Common Man Restaurants generally speaking, although their restaurants were idiots when it came to the Scamdemic. Didn't give them one dime when they started requiring masks out doors. The following year: The Town Docks Restaurant is a great dinning location; right there on the the big Lake. But the price is a bit high when serving on paper plates and crappy plastic spoons and forks. My wife and I racked up a bill for over $100 just for the two of us. The value just wasn't there. The best thing about this spot is the ambience. It's right of the lake, with lots of tables by the water, twinkly lights, and sand on the ground. I also thought the cocktails were a great deal, many of them are in the $8-9 range. (My favorite of the ones I tried was the watermelon mojito.) It also seems like they all go out with the blended/larger drinks. Ex. There's a drink for two that comes in a watermelon, or a pina colada that comes in a pineapple topped with whipped cream and a cherry. My food was nothing special, slightly below average even. I ordered the crab cake dinner ($20) because the menu said it was voted best in NH. I'm not a crab cake expert but the meat tasted kind of fishy. Very, very good food. Well prepared and well presented. The major issue is, it's so grossly way over priced! Literally for everything on the menu. Common Man, Inc knows this and has priced the menu because of the location. A local place in Ashland has 8oz's (read 1/2 pound!) of whole bellied clams for $25 as a dinner with fries, or $20 as a side for the same amount. Town Docks price on a whole bellied clam dinner with fries is $30. And, it's literally only a couple ounces of clams with fries. They are charging you a ridiculous price for maybe 4oz's of clams, and a stupid rest of the price for French Fries. Great food, great people, and great service! This is a fun, family-friendly restaurant with a gorgeous lake side view. The waiting line looks a little intimidating when you take a glance from the parking lot but once you get on the bridge, the view makes the wait less painful. Popcorn Pineapple- Must-try!!!! Battered fried pineapple, why not?! These perfectly bite size pieces were so worth the wait. Grilled Fish Tacos- Delicious grilled tilapia, slaw with pico de gallo and cilantro sour cream. It's a little messy if you're a slow eater (like me!). Strawberry Basil Colada- I'm not really a mixed drink person but this drink was a game changer. Refreshing, sweet and perfectly pink concoction. So drink up ladies (and dudes too, don't be shy to order it just because it's pink). They had some daily special burger with chili in it, which was yummy too! The service was exceptional here. I used to visit Meredith NH growing up with my family in the 90s and always went to Franken' Sunday for ice cream. I'm visiting from Florida and my dad and I went today and it was excellent. All of the staff was smiling and friendly. Josh was our server and was attentive and genuine. The calamari was better than anything in Florida and the onion rings and Lobster rolls were perfect. I have very mixed feeling about Town Docks. We arrived on a Friday around 6:20 pm. We waited about 20 minutes in line and then waited outside for about 30 minutes before we got our chowders. They brought out two cups when we ordered two bowls but we took one of the chowders. We then went inside because it was really cold. Then we waited another 40 or 45 minutes before we got our food. We had 9 people but we split into parties of 4 and 5. Our server Emma was super sweet and accommodating and the both she and her manager let us know that our drinks and chowders would be comped because we had waited over an hour for our food. I split a jumbo lobster roll but it really wasn't jumbo at all. I also ordered a bowl of chowder to come out at the same town of the meal. It was hot and had a lid on it which was nice because I like my food piping hot. The chowder was thick but didn't have a lot of stuff in it. The lobster roll was tasty and had a lot of lobster. A friend got a burger and said it wasn't impressive and another friend got a fried platter and said it wasn't hot. When the check came, they charged for two cups of chowder and the bowls of chowder even though we only took 1 cup. Only 2 people got drinks so that wasn't much of a discount. It was about a $21 discount and $9 discount. Even though many things went wrong, I'd come back if I were ever showing someone around. Came in for lunch with my boyfriend. We sat at the bar in the very back. The bartender was nice. We started with calamari served with Thai seeet chili sauce. The calamari was pretty heavily breaded and lacked seasoning to the batter. Definitely needed the lemon wedge for some acid balance. The sweet cause was a bit too sweet to me but alright. We also got fried clams and a butter pouched lobster roll. The clams were fried in the same unseasoned batter as the calamari and had WAY too much batter. The fries were also under seasoned. Like no salt or pepper or anything. I asked for some on the side and got some. The lobster roll was good and buttery. The house made chips were good but needed maybe some old bay. The day we were there the POS system kept going down so our food never appeared and no one seemed to notice until we almost flagged down someone else's food that we thought was ours. The staff were mostly un attentive and distracted and the food was just ok. The mixed drinks were just ok, nothing special. The views of the water are great and they rest on the views as being their calling card rather than delivering on great service, drinks, and food. This is the first socially distanced restaurant I have been to since Covid-19. Right on the lake, this little beach getaway is a refreshing experience to have lunch. It is welcoming and the food is delicious. My favorite is the pina coladas served in pineapples. I had not been to Town Docks in many years. We were in Meredith for the day on the 4th of July and thought it would be a great place to grab dinner. I was worried that we might not get in considering the summer holiday but found that the hosts were very organized and moved through the waiting line in quick pace. We were seated within 15 minutes. Our server (huge shout out to OLIVIA) visited us very quickly. She was extremely attentive and kind on a very busy day and did not seem stressed in the least. She visited us many times for drink orders and updated us on our food. Quite honestly we were shocked at how quickly our drinks and food arrived on such a busy day. We had one amazing time at this totally relaxed waterfront place. Came here with a long-time, I mean long-time friend of 40 years. When he said I could feed the ducks, I didn't believe it. Then we came in, on the beach-sandy outdoor bench seating. And the ducks came by to say hello. The waterfront setting here is idyllic. Nestled in the docks, with gorgeous views of the lake and mountains and the town port. Perhaps one of the nicest places to relax and converse and yes, enjoy ocean and lake products. Our waitress, Brittany, was superb. We ordered the calamari, a de rigueur appetizer for me when I come to a new seafood restaurant. Deliciously cooked. I am only giving 1 star, but would give 0 stars if possible. We were on a bachelorette party of 8 girls and the entire group had 2 drinks each, in addition to over $100 worth of food, and we were told by the manager they were uncomfortable continuing to serve us and were asked to pay the bill and leave. We were not even there for 1 hour and had not been out drinking before. We were not loud, inappropriate, or remotely out of control and we were all shocked that we were getting kicked out when there were other much louder, obnoxious groups who were getting served. 0/10, I do not recommend to anyone to go to this establishment. Horrific customer service and an overall terrible experience our entire group will be sure to let everyone know about. I went with family to celebrate my birthday a few days ago and whatever two women were working at the outside bar July 31st 2021 at 5pm were rude as hell, super unwelcoming and unprofessional. We sat right at the bar and they barley acknowledged our existence and also, didn't ID me and when my dad told them it's my 21st bday they said "whew" and rolled their eyes so who ever the manager is they should definitely be fired because I will never be coming back.
