Very upsetting experience. The staff was very unhelpful. My family took me here a few years ago, and I came back with my boyfriend because I remembered how much fun I had. I wanted to sit in and dine by the water but we weren't sure how to go about getting a table. We entered through the main building and asked the woman at the front where we order, and I told her I wanted to dine outside. She told me to order inside, so I did. I was very confused because they made it sound like we would take our food outside and grab a table. They did NOT explain that I was ordering takeout, and that we wouldn't be able to sit outside. Instead once we got outside a very nice server explained that we could not sit in the main dining area and that we had to move, over to tables that were very dirty and covered in ice cream, with no wait staff, napkins, etc. Someone should have explained that if we went around to the back, that there was a host who could have seated us. Instead we felt dismissed and rushed. More consideration and patience from the staff would have avoided this whole mess. Now my boyfriend and I are leaving with our accidental takeout to go eat at home. read more

Sea food is absolutely fabulous, but the prices are outrageous and the wait time during the summer hours is over an hour to get a table. We live local, and only go when they first open in the spring, and don't bother during the summer or fall hours. For a fried scallop dinner it was over $35.00, same with clams. You can't substitute onion rings for fries, but have to pay for a full order of close to $10.00 just for the rings. Granted, very good food, but way over priced even during these challenging times. In the past, we have waited over 45 mins for our food to arrive and one time the waitress got our order wrong 3 times. Only time in my life I have not left a tip. It is a tourist trap for out of towners willing to pay the prices and deal with the wait because the view of the lake and boats is nice. A beautiful location right on the lake with many outdoor tables to enjoy the view and minimize Covid risk. These folks know how to do simple seafood right. The lobster rolls are offered in three sizes (regular, jumbo and 1 lb of meat) and two styles (hot with butter or cold with mayo). Given the current sky high price of lobster, they have done a good job of keeping prices reasonable. The fried scallops and clams are perfect.....and served with very good fries. Other entrees, including BBQ, Buffalo chicken and sandwiches are consistently good. They have homemade Lemonade and very creative and festive mixed drinks. For dessert, there is a common man ice cream stand right next to the restaurant. Just a perfect casual meal on a nice day or evening. read more

7/7/2020 I was not happy with the service that we received. Our waitress was not a happy person and we never even got her name. We were only a table of 4 and we were sat over in front of the bar. It took a while to get our drinks. Then we waited forever for our appys the soups we're luke warm. Then directly our food came out and it was cold. Then to top it off allus have been sick to the stomach all day. This is the first time I've ever been to a Common Man Restaurant and not had great service and great food. This was supposed to be a romantic dinner for us couples because we were celebrating our anniversary. Ours 29yr and our friends 19yrs. Also when we saw the seating we were disappointed because it really doesn't look like that on the website. We were expecting tables not picnic tables. Extremely uncomfortable to sit at. I am visiting this area to attend a graduation and wanted some seafood, we stopped here for a Lobster Roll and it was fresh and amazing . CONSERVATIVES NOT WELCOME I grew up in New Hampshire. I have frequented the Lakes Region MANY times after coming back from serving in the Army. I've lived all over the country, and I have NEVER felt so discriminated against in my life. I am not one to complain, and I NEVER tip less than 20% today however, I didn't even make it past the drink order. During "COVID" the Governor has deemed neccessary a few regulations. I abide by those regulations when asked to do so on private property, because I don't pay their bills. This restaurant had a mask required sign up, and my party of 4 obliged. Our masks say "This mask is useless". There's no vulgar words, or slander towards anyone. It is a personal feeling I have about a mask I am required to wear. The hostess proceeds to seat the 4 of us at a table made for two. We get up and move to the 4 person table behind us. The manager comes over and rudely asks us why we moved. We told her, "because there's 4 of us". She stands there and loudly, and annoyedly radios to the front end about the table change because "they moved". Two of my friends had coffee's from Dunkin's that they were finishing, and since it was patio seating, they didn't figure it would be a problem. WRONG. The manager asked if we had alcohol in the cups. We told her no, just coffee, and she went on about how she wasn't going to check, but they weren't supposed to let us in with them. THEN the waitress came over to get the drink order, and harrassed us about the coffee's AGAIN. None of what we experienced had ANYTHING to do with a coffee. Due to the highly charged political climate we live in, the left feels empowered to treat you poorly in anyway they can. THAT is EXACTLY what happened to us today. Furthermore, my wife, who was with us, GREW UP in Center Harbor, and has probably eaten there HUNDREDS of times. This is the first time this has ever happened, but still, it happened. Given the fact that we know who owns this business, we are appalled at the treatment today. We will vote with our wallet even more firmly. Treatment like this doesn't help mend our society. Leave your personal views at the door, and teach your employees to do the same. Absolutely unbelievable. Waiter wasn't knowledgable about the menu and practically slammed our food and drinks down--I understand it's busy but some decency and respect would be appreciated. I ordered the fish tacos and had to get them remade because the fish was stone cold when it was supposed to be fresh off the grill. And I confirmed with the waiter about receiving a pickle with my meal, never did. Then he shorted our change! Took about ten minutes and talking to three other staff members to get it sorted out. This is one of my favorite restaurants when visiting my grandparents who live in Laconia! The atmosphere is great, and on a busy day there are lots of people riding in via boat, car, etc. The view is wonderful in Meredith Bay and the service is always so friendly. I cannot get enough of the Common Man Ale, it is the only thing I get when coming here. For food, we started with clam chowder and fried pineapple (on special). The clam chowder was out of this world good; possibly some of the best I've ever had. The fried pineapple was also delicious, and served with a sweet chili sauce on the side which was a perfect compliment. For our meal, we split the mahi tacos. WOW! They were amazing. Three huge tacos loaded with grilled mahi and all the fix ins. These along with their homemade chips (delicious) were the perfect meal for two. I've never left this place disappointed, and cannot wait for my next trip. read more

So we loved this place!!! It has a great outdoor seating area with live music and there were little ducklings running around (adorable). It's clearly very laid back, very fun. Pineapple drink was delicious and not too weak for the price. Corn fritters amazing. BF had the docks burger and decided he had to try to make it at home it was such a good combo. I had the chicken sandwich on a gluten free roll. Chicken was not dry, aioli was yummy. All food was super flavorful with large portions. Our server was so lovely and prompt even though they were busy! Would absolutely recommend this place - although hardcore gf beware. Perfect spot for a casual & relaxing lunch or dinner! This restaurant has an amazing menu - perfect mix of seafood and non seafood options for everyone. They also have a large drink menu with plenty of options for everyone to find something they'll enjoy. Each time I went I got a different server and all of them were amazing - super friendly and got us anything we ordered extremely quickly. The view from anywhere you decide to sit will be amazing since this restaurant is located right on the lake. Unimpressed. I typically love all common man locations but this season they fell flat. The service isn't walk up anymore but rather full table service, so you end up spending more $ for tipping etc. The food was subpar, and the food my SO got was called absolutely disgusting and flavorless (Chicken Ranch Wrap). Also, we got ice cream after. And while the ice cream is really good, the service was appalling. We got 3 orders, all single scoops on a cone. There was one couple ahead of us in line. I exaggerate not when I say it took 15 minutes to get our cones. There were 3 girls working, one taking orders, one standing around, and one scooping. They all had terrible customer service, no sense of how to talk to customers and no sense of a pace faster than a snail. I received my cone 5 minutes after my son got his, and my SO got his cone another 5 minutes after me. It was not busy at all. I do not recommend this location. Greg and I always want to go to Meredith for a date, but it rarely happens. On this one day, it was absolutely beautiful. The weather was perfect, it was right before tourist season started (early May), and we were here for a quick lunch. We went to Town Dock's, and I would 100% come back. It makes you feel like you are in the carribean, with reggae music blaring, sand under all the tables, and tables dispersed on a dock/undertrees all outdoors. It defineitly is very casual, and feels somewhat springbreakish/trashy. It definietly is trashy. I wouldn't be surprised to see kids in string bikinis funneling beers. However, It is a great spot for an outdoor, casual, family friendly lunch. You can expect lots of toursits and bikers, expensive but delicious drinks, mediocre food, and a fun atmosphere. read more

Casual nautical theme. Seating is cozy. There are tables inside and outside. We ordered the clam chowder and it was fantastic. Plenty of clams and the consistency was just right. Not too thin but not super thick either. I got the Summer salad which has mixed greens, watermelon, blueberries, red onion and feta cheese with a balsamic dressing. Very good and refreshing. We split a Fisherman's platter. It was enough for both of us. Fish was cooked perfect, breading was nice and light and nothing was greasy. The fries have that crispy coating on them and were really good. All in all it was a nice visit and would recommend eating here. Will return again some time. read more

4 stars due to the AMAZING ice cream. I've had the lemon sorbet with the black raspberry ice cream several times and it's perfect every time. The lemon sorbet has zest in it. Yum!! We went to sample some seafood we haven't tried before (just moved here from the southwest... Not much in the way of oceans out there :P ) The lobster roll was very mayonnaise-y and bland. The crab cake was kinda gross. Mealy and greasy, tasted kind of like cheap tuna. I LOVED the lobster corn chowder. I'm probably not the best judge of character for the seafood dishes, but I'm an ice cream connoisseur- and they NAIL IT. read more

Town Docks is a bit of a New Hampshire summer staple. There is something about having dinner and drinks on lake Winni on a hot summer night that just feels like a New England paradise. Trust me, I love having a lobster roll and a margarita here but there are some drawbacks. It's pricey for picnic table dining, service can be slowwww at times, and the food is rather eh. It's a sold three star place for me. I will continue to come back year after year for the drinks and atmosphere but it's not my go to for a meal. My favorite experience so far was having drinks at the picnic tables a few years ago under the stars while waiting for the July 4th fireworks to start. It was my fave place that I've watched the fireworks in NH so far. If you haven't been, you should definitely check out the town docks at least once. read more

I have to thank Yelp for helping me stumble across this treasure trove of a restaurant! We ate out back on the docks and had a very relaxed, fun meal with sand under our feet and a great view of the lake on one side and delicious smells coming from the other. The kids sat at one picnic table while the "growed ups" sat at the next. Our waitress was a tad flakey but attentive. I ordered the lobster bake and it did not disappoint. It was supposed to come with a side of watermelon that did not make it to my plate. However, I really dont know where i would have put it! The clam chowder was amazing and I am regretting not buying some to bring home. The kids had the normal kid fare. Chicken tenders and such, there is no kids menu but you can get kids portions. My mom had lobster, dad had long neck clams and my husband had.... some other thing! We all enjoyed iur food and my mother who is hard to please, said the onion rings were the best she has ever had. We had 4 adults, 2 teen boys and 3 littles under the 10 and the bill came to $210 including an 18% tip! read more
