Stopped here on our way back from Conway. It was a beautiful day and we were fortunate enough to get a seat outside with zero wait time. Server was friendly and knowledgeable about when answering our menu questions. Food was delivered very quickly. Manager checked in on us after a few bites. Server followed up shortly. Our daughter and son-in-law recommended that we try this place out. We were in the area for a family wedding and went for lunch. Seating outside on the water was very pleasant. To get a table you just queue up on the dock and get seated in order. We only had to wait a few minutes. We were sown to a table that was in full sun. It got warm after a bit but the manager came over picked up our table and moved us into the shade all done with a smile . My wife and I both had the lemonade which was good. Tonight I waited over an hour for two ice cream cones. I had to walk to the front of the counter to ask about my order and then every staff member told me they did not have my order. The place was packed by the time of my arrival, and once I received my order I was legitimately the last person waiting for my ice cream on the receiving end. I watched many customers share my same frustration as we saw people who ordered long after us get their order before us. Last week we had my son's wedding rehearsal dinner (for 32 people) there (at South Beach), followed by a Welcome Party for those invited to the wedding the next day. We created a specialized menu for both -- lobster rolls, burgers, chowder, salad, fries and corn fritters for the rehearsal dinner. A buffet of corn fritters, Docks' chips and salsa, salad and corn chowder for the Welcome Party. Everything was great -- the service (by both waitstaff and bartenders) and the food, the view and the weather were all amazing! It's a very casual (sand on the floor) atmosphere. I really enjoyed my experience at Town Docks. Our waitress Mackzenie (sorry if I spelled your name wrong) is awesome and super nice. A member of our party has a black pepper allergy and she went out of way to ensure no black pepper is used in the food that was being ordered. Manager even came out also. My family has been coming here for years. Its a great place to grab lunch in Meredith when you are out on the boat for the day. I was disappointed with their pineapple mojito, it was pretty bland. Their corona margaritas were ok, definitely made with a mix, not fresh. The calamari to start was tasty but the tartar sauce it came with was just ok. The lobster rolls and lobster salad are where its at. The lobster portion is generous and didn't have a lot of filler. The fish and chips were also fried very well. The service was a little spotty at times, but they were very busy for a Thursday afternoon. read more

Yelp says it's pet friendly but that isn't so. They only allow you to use a small table in the parking lot out front. It offers zero shade and is just feet away from constantly revving motorcycles. There isn't waitress service for this setup so one has to order takeout inside and wait for the order inside. My wait was 46 minutes for our order. The food was good. I had a steak tips and my wife and dogs split a double cheeseburger. We also shared the one table with another couple with a Lab retriever who were very nice, so that was a positive, I suppose. The boardwalk cafe in Wier's beach was a much better experience for those that can't leave their pets behind when traveling and dining. read more

So we kind of didn't know what we were getting into going here, but it was definitely more like a huge frat party than a restaurant. That's not necessarily bad, but we had two babies with us. The server forgot to even offer us highchairs until halfway through the meal - we assumed they didn't have any, so we didn't ask. The food was just all right too. I got a lobster roll. There are a lot of pros and cons to this place, but I definitely don't think it hits the 4-5 star mark in my book. The views, however, are ridiculous. This is the perfect restaurant to come during a summer afternoon/early evening. Its located right on the lake and is absolutely breathtaking. Many cons however. The tables are basically first come first serve. When we arrived we booked it to the first open table, and some lady literally raced us there and sat down, snapped at my mother and I, and made a scene. It was extremely annoying. It also didn't help that the restaurant found it necessary to put down sand over the patio. That was kind of a turn off as well. Its like Town Docks was competing to be the most casual restaurant in NH. When it got dark out, they had very little lighting. I could barely see what I was eating, and they didn't have any bug repellent candles which I also thought was strange. So I left with about 20 new mosquito bites. Service wasn't very speedy but the place was mobbed. I also think some menu items were a bit pricey. I got mussels to start off. I was expecting maybe a bowl with some sort of white wine or garlic sauce over them. But it was literally a basket of just plain mussels and a side of butter- I'm pretty sure this is standard with steamers, NOT mussels. If i didn't have a profound love for mussels, I definitely would not have been interesting. But either way, it was a strange combination. For an entree I just went with a ceasar wrap since other seafood items were way overpriced. It was like an other plain old ceasar wrap- nothing to brag about. Awesome fries and onion rings though! I suppose I shouldn't have had too high of expectations for an outdoor only summer restaurant, but regardless, when restaurants are overly casual, my interest diminishes. read more

Are there any restaurants in NH not owned by the Common Man?? That being out of the way, Town Docks is a must stop whenever I'm in the area. The food is good, not great, but its at least as good as you would expect. Always busy, but usually a table waiting for you. I always try to sit up on the roof. (only draw back is the kitchen vent smell.) Just a tad pricey for what it is, but the good service & the great views make it worth it. I highly recommend. If the weather cooperates, being outside is a fantastic option - drink menu looked good. I had the seafood platter, which was fresh and in line with what you'd pay at a summer beach place. My wife had their homemade veggie burger patty, which was tasty and interesting - leaned toward the sweet side as opposed to homemade veggie burgers that taste like cardboard (like the ABC Cafe in Ithaca...) The pricing is reasonable, though since it's a part of the whole C-Man family, it's not exactly bargain-basement fare. That having been said, because it's a part of the whole C-Man family, the quality of the restaurant and the food are also well above average, so ya get what ya pay for. Well worth the stop if you can find parking, and I totally second saving room for the ice cream stand on the side of the building. read more

Came here on a saturday afternoon while on a weekend get away to Lake Winnipesaukee. the waiter told us there were no more seats outside and we can sit inside and just order from the cashier We ordered a regular cheeseburger and crab cake sandwich. The wait for our food was like 30 mins Big portions on a paper plate. My burger was disappointing. Dry, flavorless, and the bun was way too thick and bland for the burger. I had a bite of the crabcake sandwich, the crab cake was very bland, mushy the best part of the meal was the french fries, but how hard is it to make good fries? should have went to McDonald's or Burger King for a quick bite read more

I am sorry but can barely give this a star. This restaurant is all about location, as place that traps you In after you hit the Meredith traffic. The food took well over an hour to get to us, when others that came after already paid their check. My sons first meal did not arrive because the waitress, who was overwhelmed, said they were out of chicken fingers. I wish they told us that when they knew! The replacement grilled cheese was toast with the faintest hint of cheese in it. The waitress and manager were embarrassed and blamed the "service and appearance" on a young kitchen staff. This was also not the best excuse when you are not paying McDonalds prices. Will never go again. read more

The drinks are decent and beer is cheap (compared to New York/Boston standards). They carry Summer Shandy for $3.50 a bottle which ain't bad in my mind. Ambiance is decent. Its a typical casual family-friendly place. Solid selection of ice cream (didn't try but probably 20+ flavors on the menu). Food menu consists of a pretty typical snackbar-esque type place with burgers, salads, wraps and chicken fingers. They have seafood, but remember, you are on a lake, not an ocean. We ordered a crabcake (not my idea!) and it was less than stellar. Chicken tenders were pretty standard, a little small, but standard. In the end, its a decent spot to go. The food is decent enough, the drinks selection isn't bad, and you can't really beat the location. If you are looking for really good food, I would probably look elsewhere, but if you are looking for somewhere to hang out near the water and have some drinks I would recommend it. -md read more

Overpriced food and bev in a delicious setting that makes me keep trying, summer after summer. The view of the lake, the breeze, the sand under your feet - all of it makes you want to buy a $14 frozen drink and a plate of fried fresh seafood. But then your order comes and there's barely a full shot of alcohol in your drink and the seafood is fried straight from frozen - that "market price" for your (bay) scallops must have referred to the price at the local costco super"market." Then the bill comes and it's almost embarrassing that you've once again paid $50+ for two ppl to leave sober and dissatisfied. "Next summer we'll skip it" we say. Probably the most disgusting meal I've ever had. Ordered the two pound lobster and got to the tail. It was the most disgusting thing I've ever seen. Pregnant lobster which they took away, it looked like an oil spill and was inedible. They brought out some washed meat that I couldn't even touch because, well it's self explanatory after seeing what I just saw. I've probably eaten hundreds of lobsters in my life and never once have I seen that. Then my mom opened hers ANOTHER pregnant lobster. Horrible. She couldn't even eat hers either and wasn't offered anything. For 50.00 bucks a lobster after being told they were 20.00 and not even being able to eat it and leaving hungry it was a pretty disappointing experience. Perfect place to chill on a Saturday night (or any other night for that matter). They have surprisingly good food, awesome specialty drinks that change on a daily basis and the best view! Nothing like sitting at a beach bar, drinking a Corona, listening to the band, and watching a 40 foot cabin cruiser glide into the bay! On a sunny Summer day, sitting out at a dockside picnic table can hardly be beat. Fried clam roll was decent, but nothing stellar, and a little pricey. Paired with a nice cold local beer, and the ambience, however, it felt like an instant vacation! We ate here in our most recent vacation to New Hampshire. They do not have the largest menu, but they have all of the standards including fresh caught seafood. I had one of the house specialties, the crabcake sandwich which was large and tasty. It was a little too soft for me, but as it tasted good, I had no room to complain. It's a small place but because it's one of the few spots you can actually drive your boat up to, I am sure it's hopin' in the summer time. Great location and nice outside eating area. If you want to have a drink them town docks is acceptable but if your planning to eat you should go somewhere else. We are local and visit the town docks a few times each summer but the food is consistently poor. There is no safe item on the menu. The burgers, chicken sandwich, the Ahi tuna tacos, the mussels, the fries, the potato salad, the coleslaw. All horrible. For a common man restaurant this place is an embarrassment. If it wasn't next to the lake it would have been out of business a long time ago. read more

I have never not finished an ahi tuna meal before but the ahi tasted weird like it had freezer burn. It didn't taste fresh at all. I complained and the manager came to the table to discuss but didn't offer a discount or replacement. In fairness I did try to eat most of it before I threw in the towel. Everything else is nice about the docks and the other people in my party enjoyed their meals. The ice cream is great. As kind of payback for not getting any restitution for the meal I steered a few potential customers away from the docks last weekend. There are better lunch options in Meredith. read more

If you are going to Meredith NH you must stop by the Town Docks as it is a perfect location right on the water. It overlooks the lake with great music, drinks, food and the service is amazing. My husband and I rented out a portion of the bar and hosted our welcome party here for our wedding and it was one of my favorite parts of the whole weekend! Our bartenders Heather and Chris were amazing! The owner, Marius was so easy to work with and the food was great! Disappointing experience today at Town Docks. I come here every summer and usually enjoy it. The atmosphere is wonderful by the water and the service is usually good. Today I ordered the lobster salad plate and asked for the dressing on the side. My friend ordered a chicken sandwich. We both ordered clam chowder. The waiter asked if we wanted the chowder served first and we said "yes". After a long wait our food came without the clam chowder. My salad was drenched in a very sour citrus dressing and my friend got chicken salad plate instead of a sandwich. They redid her order and we had our chowder while we waited (which was delicious-this was the highlight of the meal). I asked for a side salad to replace what was under my lobster and I was brought a bowl of lettuce. I was stunned. The waiter did take 20% off our bill because of all the mistakes. I probably will not return here again unless it's just for ice cream. read more
