Living room at Ballard House

In full disclosure, I will say right up front that Feza is an old college buddy of mine. But, I hadn't seen him in 25 years so it was like meeting him all over again! When we found ourselves desperately looking for a leaf-peeping getaway up in New Hampshire during the pandemic, we knew right where to go. We knew Fez would run an outstanding establishment, that he'd be on board with all of the CDC requirements, and that he would expect no less from his guests. All of the above is true, but our stay exceeded our expectations in every way. The Inn itself is a beautiful historic building in a picturesque setting. It has a huge wrap around porch with rockers and benches just begging you to sit and stay a while while enjoying the gorgeous view. Each of the 10 or so rooms is uniquely charming with comfortable beds and private baths. I believe one has an exterior entrance but the rest are accessed through the main house. There's a fireplace in the communal living room to keep you toasty while relaxing on the comfy couches, if that's your thing. Everything was spotless and well attended. For the outdoor enthusiast, you're in a great location. Meredith NH is nestled between Lake Winnipesaukee and Squam Lake right in the heart of the White Mountains. There's hiking, skiing, antiquing, shopping, eating...all right outside your door or within a stone's throw. And besides being a charming host, Feza is a great resource of local information - both dinners and the hikes we did were at his recommendation and all were spot on. Exactly the getaway we needed. Fez puts on his chef hat for the breakfast at the Ballard House - and each day brought a great array of homemade breakfast goodies. He even kindly cooked something special for our extremely picky, whiney, pain in the ass companion (friend of the friend we were traveling with) when we just wanted to boot her out the door. We're hoping to make our weekend getaway an annual thing. It is just so beautiful up there and Fez is so welcoming. It was fun for me to catch up with an old college friend - but even if he isn't yours, you'll feel like he is after a visit to Ballard House.

Such an amazing and welcoming place

What an absolute gem of a place. The owner was so kind and accommodating and helpful and had great recommendations for us. We loved every second of our stay. Being able to sit on the back deck and take in the beautiful New Hampshire sunset was amazing. Breakfast the next morning was impeccable. She also has the cutest gift shop on property. I would highly recommend staying here. Absolutely a delightful experience.

Just had a spectacular weekend spent at the Lakehouse, what a great spot to relax…read more I especially loved sitting on the the huge farmers porch drinking my fresh brewed morning coffee and watching the sunrise while listening to the loons calling, I felt like I was in the movie " On Golden Pond" ! Then step inside where you find a very comfortable living room and the most beautiful stone fireplace I have ever seen! Most of the rooms have beautiful scenic views of the lake. I have a question though, is there such a thing as a million thread count sheet or pillow case? Because I think this place has them, I have bad shoulders and this was the best sleep I had in years!! That's why I was able to get up early and watch the sunrise and enjoy an excellent breakfast on the porch prepared by the owner himself, thanks Al! Last but definitely not least Al's wife Pamela is just the nicest person, making everyone feel as relaxed as if you were in your own home, she is full of ideas for all your local needs from dining to local recreation. Thank you Lake house for a wonderful stay! Kevin McGowan

The inn was cozy and charming, and Monty and Rebecca were gracious and attentive hosts. They take such pride in their inn, and it shows. The inn itself is well-maintained and beautiful, the rooms are charming and cozy (and some with spectacular views of the lake!), and the amenities throughout were ample. The sheets were divine and so soft; it felt like sleeping on a cloud. The large living room downstairs was the perfect spot to relax by the stunning fireplace and play board games from their many options of games, puzzles, and magazines. There is a selection of coffee and tea in the dining room available any time, and every afternoon fresh, warm chocolate chip cookies are put out. They were delicious and we enjoyed quite a few! In the warmer months, there is a beautiful front porch overlooking the gazebo and waterfront area. The breakfast was fantastic and lovingly made. We were treated to a three-course breakfast in the dining room served by Monty with fresh juices and coffee/tea. First fruit, followed by a delicious pumpkin bread, followed by the main dish. At check-in, they asked about our dietary needs and preferences based on the upcoming menu and catered to our needs. It was excellent and we left breakfast stuffed! Monty was a truly kind and hospitable host and we enjoyed talking with him during our stay. He was even so kind to leave out a few things to go since we departed early before breakfast. Overall, I highly recommend staying at The Lake House at Ferry Point while in town or making a trip for a weekend of beautiful views and relaxation. Cozy inn, hospitable hosts, delicious breakfast, and a superb location right on the lake. We hope to return during warmer weather to enjoy the porch and kayaking. A truly special inn!

Their gorgeous house is model after a Southern style mansion set on over 60+ acres of land. The views of Lake Wentworth and Winnipesaukee are breath taking. The breakfast was excellent. Even had fresh local scones from the secret bakery in Wolfeboro. One thing should be mentioned. They have 6 dogs on the property. If you don't like dogs or are allergic, this is not the place for you. But for me, it was great. I love dogs. There were well behaved and the whole property is invisible fenced, including the inside. You don't have to worry about them going into your room. All in all, this place is great. I would highly recommend Lake View Inn. It's the perfect lake regions B & B.

Have stayed here about 4 times over the past few years visiting our children at summer camp. The owners, Janet and Doug, are wonderfully friendly and charming folks who I have really enjoyed getting to know. Their home is a lovely old farm house with a great deal of charm; lots of antiques, some low ceilings, creaky floors, antique locks on the doors, etc. The rooms are small, but comfortable. You'll find a few cob webs and a little dust, but this is a trifle. Janet makes a cooked-to-order breakfast often asking what you'd like the night before. She is an excellent cook. The best part of a visit to the Inn is the idyllic backyard (see photo) which is immaculately kept and is stunningly beautiful. It is quite relaxing and serene. Sit and listen to to the quiet. Once you sit down and take in the view, you do not want to move. There is also a screened-in porch for those wishing to avoid the sun and flying annoyances. The property also has access to a nearby pond which is a short walk via a path through the woods across the street. Canoeing and rowing is possible, or simply sit and take in the water view and others enjoying the lake. The Meadow Farm Bed and Breakfast is a lovely oasis.

But every morning they fed you a HUGE home made breakfast...each breakfast was better than the day prior! The property is relaxing and fun especially visiting the two horses on the property. Make sure you take a short walk through the woods o find the lake with a wonderful view. Already planning the next visit!
