My family has been going to Wolfboro every summer for roughly 45 years (which is before I was born,…read moreso all of my life.) This year, my family was up for their yearly 2 week stay and I decided I was able to come up for a few days with my gf and dog. I'm only able to come up for a few days due to personal issues and, not to go into it, need an emotional support animal when doing so. I've never had a hotel have an issue with an ESA and want to charge $50 for one. My dog is trained, will not bark in the room, will not make a mess, and is most hypoallergenic (he sheds a little but not much.) Anyway, we called the Wolfeboro Inn a few days prior to arrival just to let them know we're bringing him and will have paperwork etc. We were met with the downplaying of my disability and them letting us know unless we were "physically disabled, like being blind..." etc. we need to pay. While hotels, don't *have* to waive a fee for ESAs, it's crazy to hear someone actively dismissing a "mental disability" compared to a "physical disability". I know people have their opinions on mental health, and unfortunately it is seen as *lesser than* compared to things you can "see" but when you live with it, you know it is very real. The difference between what you "have to do" and what is the "right thing to do" makes all the difference to show the heart of a company. If this ended up being a supportive hotel, that wasn't stuck in the stone-ages, it would have 100% become our yearly place to stay -- but unfortunately we had to cancel and never will be stepping foot into the establishment. It's a win/win I suppose, I will receive the ~$330 back that I paid for 2 nights and they can hopefully book someone they actually want as a guest. I'm sure it's a fine hotel, but it's the first one (and we've stayed in major hotels as well as boutique hotels) we've ever had this issue with, so just be warned prior -- if you're bringing an animal, make sure you have enough of a disability for their liking.

There was more space than we needed, and everybody felt spread out and. Comfortable. The house was so well appointed with everything we needed and clean. The house is very old so the stairs Creek and the radiators rattle in reminiscence of my grandma's house, which was so endearing. the hot water works amazing and the beds every one of them was comfortable clean, and the rooms were dark and air-conditioned. The downtown grill double booked our rehearsal dinner and gave the space to another party, (that's a separate yelp uggh ) our dinner plans were squashed, "the cottages" stepped in and helped us accommodate a group of 20 to 30 people catering from Morrisseys Front Porch and using the outdoor areas on a beautiful summer night the evening was a smashing success. I will say that one of the best parts of my son's wedding was being able to stay at the cottages where we all gathered and had an amazing time we were due to leave on Monday, but extended our stay till Wednesday. the proximity of this property to stores and restaurants made everything so easy . The beach is small, but there were never more than a handful of people on it at any given time, even though we came on a busy holiday weekend. The kitchenette had a mini fridge, microwave, coffee pot and toaster, and cupboards ready with silverware, dishes--even wine glasses. The room was clean and the decor was modern and minimalist. When our tv didn't work, my husband let the office know, and the owner himself came up immediately to fix it. We are from California but are temporarily living in Boston and decided to take the boat out on Lake Winnipesaukee for the weekend. It was a busy weekend for the area as it was Motorcycle Week and we had a difficult time finding accommodations. After exploring the local hotels and motels we thought we'd give a look into B&B's when we came across this one- with availability!! Connie was knowledgeable about the town and offered us recommendations for dinner. Wally was insightful about the surrounding lakes. We were very fortunate to have found them. Connie and Wally showed us about the property- very beautiful Old New England charm and our hosts kindly allowed us to park our boat behind the building and let us charge it. The common areas were very pleasant and relaxed. Our room was very clean and spacious, the bed very comfortable. The bathroom was beautifully updated with a fun and spacious Jacuzzi tub for two. ;) We had the most delectable breakfast. Wally wakes up 2 hours before breakfast to make the batter for the pancakes. I hope that wasn't a secret! But I'm sure there is more to it as they are crispy on the outside and perfectly fluffy on the inside! I would love to learn how he does this! I can't say enough about how kind and generous Connie and Wally are! We had a most pleasant experience with our first B&B and look forward to another visit.
