Quite Charming inside and out…read more *Historic Building with rich Town history. *Featured on TAPS and Haunted History. We had no experience outside the ordinary. *It is an old building that has been rebuilt at 3 different times in history and to varying extent. *Stayed over 6/17-18/25 Room was a Queen room. Floors sloped, but expected given the age. The building is on one thermostat. We're from Florida and the room was uncomfortably warm. Window facing brick building next door so opening the window didn't allow for a breeze. There were 2 glasses on dresser but there was no ability to get water or ice. There is also no coffee in the Hotel. You would need to wait for restaurant to open at 11:00am. This made the stay uncomfortable and is the reason I can't give more 's. *Area for improvement would be to have limited refreshment access to Hotel guests and refresh the air quality as it was musty. *Onions restaurant has a nicely executed Menu. Which was 4/5's! Clams sweet and cooked perfectly but not all of the shells were open upon serving (which is a no-no). Haddock Salad had beautiful color and fresh julienned vegetables on hand and fish was crispy and not overcooked. *Tavern opposite of the Restaurant and has local Brew on Tap. 7 Taps and each really good! Beer lines tasted clean and temp was good. Beer tasted crisp and delicious. 5/5's. Parking very limited. Satellite lot approximately 2 blocks down on same side of street.

The man at the front desk spent more time on the phone with (what sounded like) his wife, making odd and presumptive comments about me--while I was standing right there. It took over 30 minutes just to get my room key. Unfortunately, check-out was no better--another 30 minutes wasted on what should've been a simple process. To make matters worse, I was asked to write down my credit card number on a piece of paper because their system was down. Absolutely not. That is a huge security concern and incredibly inappropriate!! For the price I paid for a two-night stay, this experience was unacceptable. Hospitality 101: treat your guests with professionalism and respect. Sadly, this inn failed miserably on that front. I left feeling frustrated and disappointed, and I will not be returning. Do better.

Our room was beautiful, immaculately clean, had a lovely view of the lake and the bed was very comfortable. There is SO much to do onsite: Guiseppe's Ristorante had wonderful pizza and menu with live guitar music and later DJ/dancing, Waterfall Cafe for a great breakfast or lunch. The Cascade Spa onsite looks wonderful. Also other dining spots in walking distance at their sister sites: Lago, Lakeouse, Camp, etc... The Marketplace on site has lots of shops, bookstore, ice cream, coffee, and we were lucky enough to be there the weekend of a craft festival! There's so much to do in Meredith, a local winery, distillery, theater...they give you The Weekly Innsider when you check in, which lists all of the above and more to do which was a nice touch. The next time we will stay longer. It's a beautiful town as well.

We stayed at Bay Point and the view from the room and porch were wonderful…read more Here is the bad: When we arrived to check in (over 1/4 mile from our hotel/ Bay Point), we were told that "it looks like your room is ready, but we can't reach housekeeping to confirm. Give me your phone number and I will call you when I hear back". We checked after one hour and were told the same thing. When we approached a third time, the same person at the desk said: "I've been so busy, I didn't have time to call you". Many other people were arriving after 4PM and being told that their rooms were not ready yet. There is no staff on site at Bay Point to assist with any issues. The only permanent staff is over 1/4 mile away. We arrived at our room, and the refrigerator was not working properly and the safe was locked. We used the in-room phone to call three different departments that were direct-dial buttons on our phone. No answer. The front desk button was answered with "please hold", which I did for 10 minutes, finally hanging up. I dialed again and the same thing happened. This time I hung up after 5 minutes and then called the hotel using an outside line. That call was answered and within about 15 minutes, the maintenance person arrived. He was wonderful and very helpful. Other issues included that the latch to our hotel room door chain was missing, the battery in our keyless entry for the door died and we were locked out of our room at night, so we had to call the main building to get another service person to replace it (again, he was very nice). We paid $36 per day for a resort fee which really got you nothing other than use of the pool which again was over 1/4 mile away. There was a coffee machine in the lobby, but with no one on site to manage it, the coffee would be gone by 7:30 am. You had to call to get your room made up each day, but again there were issues with getting a phone call answered. We had to call housekeeping because the soap in the shower was empty. Again, the housekeeping person was very nice. Finally, if I had to do it all over again, I would stay at the main inn and never one of the three off-site locations. However, parking there is horrendous. We won't be back.

She thought of every amenity possible to make this a luxurious experience. The house was beautifully decorated with many fine antiques...it was very cozy and extremely comfortable. We had a large suite in the 3 rd floor ( of course no elevator, but what would be the charm in that?). We had a peek a boo view of the lake across the street. The large soaking tub was a welcome relief for this weary traveler and she even provided bath salts and bubble bath. I felt like I was in heaven! I would definitely make this a get away if we didn't live 3000 miles away. Small caution on our room. My husband is 6'3" and he conked his head in the declining ceiling more than once (I think it is the first time I heard him cuss in 46 years....but he is over it and wants to book the same room next time....consider yourself very lucky if you are able to land a reservation

Their burger meat is sourced from local farms and have amazing flavors, their other plates are equally as delicious, well executed and most importantly fresh. I had the pleasure of having Christmas dinner at their dinning room. It was well thought out, very delicious and service was amazing. Their holiday cocktails paired well with their dishes. It was simply an amazing experience overall. As for their hotel, I recommended this location to family members that were visiting and they stayed for 4 days. They were very pleased with their room, the views, the porch access and the amenities. Being near center of town, they were able to travel to Meredith and or Plymouth very easily. I would recommend making reservations for Bistro & Pub as it does get very busy.

Since i had some credit to be used for hotel stay we decided to get a scenic sweets with king bed which is best and most expensive room available at the Inn. When we got there no one was there and an envelope left with my name and instruction for parkings and room with a map. It was bit difficult to navigate since it was dark but we manage to find the parking and grabbed our stuff and went up to the room with our code. Room was spacious and cozy. Building seemed to be old but seemed to be renovated and bathroom was nice and clean. Once we got settled we start to notice bugs flying, stuck on furniture, by the window and on the ceiling. Since it's in the woods i understand if it's 1 or 2 but it was more like 10+. I had to get rid of them myself because no one was around and was bothering my partner since she was afraid of bugs. Managed to somehow sleep through the night despite noise of annoying heater and bugs flying against the window and curtains. Next day, We woke up early to leave for hiking for the day. I left a message on the number they had for service to informed the management of the situation and to have them resolve it during the day as we would be out for the day. We spent most of the day out and we returned hoping that situation has resolved. Unfortunately within few minutes of arriving i once again noticed bugs flying and had to deal with them myself because place becomes empty at 8:00pm and does not have front desk or personal after 8:00pm which is odd for a hotel. We were too tired to deal with the issue so we just left for bed. Next day when we checked out I was going to talk to the staff but they are always in and out and office was open but no one was there so I decided to send message again to the text asking for them to fix the problem for next customer and request some kind of compensation for dealing with this issue and not having it resolved during our stay. Unfortunately they declined refund or any form of compensation. With the experience we had and the poor customer service I cannot recommend this place to anyone. Other reviews seemed to indicate decline in service after change in management which may be the reason. I did want to like the place and i did give a fair chance but i will not be returning here.

The staff was very nice and no issues there. At night it turns out there is no staff there. They rotate a staff member between 3 properties every few hours until 11:00. Also, we were on a 40th anniversary 3 week road trip and this is the only place we stayed that didn't even acknowledge it was our anniversary.The restaurant is still very good and the rooms are nice and we always stay in the suite with a beautiful view. My wife and I feel this Inn has lost its "heart" since Kevin and Jen sold it

They have arranged with Mount Washington boat…read moreline to have one of their boats travel twice a day each Thursday from Wolfboro directly to a dock at Ames Farm and back. if you travel from Wolfboro you can have brunch or lunch at the great restaurant they have at Ames Farm and visit for a while at their beach or at their dock. If you go from Ames Farm to Wolfboro you can spend the same amount of time which is 1 1/2-3 hours exploring Wolfboro before returning to Ames Farm. We took the first trip and found it amazing. All the people on the boat were great and there was an assortment of beverages on board. and anyone who has ever stayed at Ames knows how amazing their restaurant is. Just shows how much Ames Farm cares about their visitors.

There also is lots of parking available! There is also a store downstairs! I didn't get a chance to go inside, but I'm sure it would be fun to look around. The prices are reasonable and service pretty quick! The food overall is pretty good. The only critique I have is my home fries were a little bit burnt! Other than that enjoyed my meal both times. I would recommend making reservations if you have more than two people in your party! I would say this is my favorite breakfast place at the moment!

The "inn" is their home and you rent rooms in their home. That may be fine for some people but not…read moreothers, including myself. The caretakers live in the basement of the property. They will ask you all kinds of questions during your "stay". I specifically told them, because they are always around in their kitchen and living room, I was leaving my dog in my room while I went on a hike. They said they wanted to get him out and that it was OK for him to run around. Well, he is a small, delicate and rambunctious chihuahua that can easily, accidentally get hurt and I told them I wanted him left in my room. When I came back from my hike I discovered the owners had gone into my room as the door between the bathroom and room was left open (I had left with it closed) and the rugs were shifted. And my dog was not in the quarantined space I had created for him to be in while I was out of the room. How do I know what happened to him? The owners treat this inn as their home because that's what it is and apparently they will do whatever they want. At real hotels you can hang a Do Not Disturb sign on the door and not worry. If this place had signs to hang they would say We Will Enter Your Room Without Permission Even When You Ask Us Not To Because This Is Our Personal Home. According to New Hampshire law they should be making it clear that they live there prior to making a reservation so this needs to be reported. In response to Sheila- your comments to your negative reviews give insight into your character. If you truly do care about customer satisfaction you would make it clear on your website that you are renting out rooms in a home. That would ensure the comfort of all of your guests.
