Stayed here to visit Gunstock to ski in March. Although there are closer inns/lodges (to Gunstock) to stay at in Gilford, I really liked this location because there are more things in the area. Patrick's across the street has a great dinner. There's a laundromat and a wine store in that same mall. The suite we stayed in was older but very big with a full kitchen, living room and bedroom which is what I was looking for. The sofa bed was kind of bent out of shape but they have brand new plush mattress toppers. This is like staying in a condo, with a physical metal key. Elaine (I think that was her name) was so nice and I felt like I was visiting her house, she was so welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. Breakfast is grab and go; breakfast sandwiches, yogurt, fruit cups, instant oatmeal, cereal/milk, muffins, granola bars etc, all prepackaged food. Honestly it was great that they even offered that. There's a convenience store across the street that you can buy food if you have a kitchen if you want to make hot prepared food. The air conditioning/heating is thru wall units so it can be noisy going on and off all night so I just used earplugs. read more

Stayed here for one night. Lobby and the check in area are neat and clean. Very cozy vibes, fireplace roaring and what you'd expect for the area. The room we stayed in did not look like the pictures. Much older and the carpet looked like it needs to be replaced. Beds not comfortable and the pillows did not help either. Overall, fine for one night as we didn't spend much time here but probably would not return if staying in the area. I did appreciate how many towels they provided in the bathroom. read more

This is close to Gunstock and a nice option of where to stay. The staff is friendly and the rooms are comfortable. There is a fair breakfast set-up and you take a few bars for later on the slopes. This seems like the kind of hotels you'll find in this area. The hot-tub could have been hotter. There is a nice pool (esp when the couple with the overly enthusiastic PDA left) and a large room with boardgames. I could have done without Fox news blaring on the TV. There is no housekeeping while you are here. read more

Nice lodgey type of hotel. There were two sides to the hotel and I think there were "regular" rooms and then the suite style rooms, which were basically apartments. The suites are huge. I had a room on the first floor and it also had a small porch area in the back. Full kitchen with utensils and plates etc in case you are in for a long stay and don't want to eat out every night. Very large living room and a separate bedroom. Great place to stay for a getaway from the city life. read more

For the record the property is very nice and very well maintained, and the staff are fantastic. This is not a review about the physical property or staff but about the business practices that the hotel is employing. First upon your arrival you will be required to pony up an additional $15 dollar resort fee for the pool; oh you will have to pay the fee even if you don't use the pool. Anyone like hidden fees? If it isn't optional just increase the price of the rooms to account for the fee, but by doing this you get to advertise your hotel as cheaper than your competitors. A couple of days before we were to arrive we received an email that there would be no housekeeping during our stay. Okay, I get it COVID has impacted your ability to hire staff, but if you aren't meeting your contractual commitment you should consider discounting the room, but nope I still paid the same amount as I would if you had housekeeping tending the rooms. The worst part...Strip the beds, gather all the linens in the bathroom, wash the dishes, and take out the trash, if not you are charged an extra $100. Yes, you are expected to be housekeeping which they won't provide you, and if you don't do your housekeeping duties they gouge you an additional $100. Where was this in my booking disclosures? So I paid a premium and a resort fee for a pool I didn't use, for a room where I got no housekeeping, and had to do the housekeeping or be fined. First and last stay at your resort! read more

The room was fine. We stayed in a suite. Everything is really dated, but it was clean and serviceable. I am giving one star for two reasons: 1. When we checked in at the front desk, we were told there is an unadvertised additional $15 service/resort fee that we were charged on top of the rate that we'd already paid. This appears nowhere on the website. A bait and switch like this is against the law (or should be). 2. The hotel requires that guests strip their own linens (sheets/pillowcases/blankets) and towels, and take out their garbage at the conclusion of the stay. We were told about this directly after the extra fee, which I had to at least smile at. I've never had to do this at any AirBNB I've stayed at, much less a reputable hotel. Yes, it's extra labor for the hotel to do that themselves, but pushing this onto guests is a horrible experience. Why am I paying $600 + tax for two nights in a hotel when I'm getting nickel-and-dimed while being treated like an employee? read more

So cute! This little wood sided hotel is just so quaint. The front staff was very friendly when checking in and even gave us delicious NH Whoopi pies! They have a nice pool area but the hot tub needed a good scrubbing. It looked like it had been a while since they drained and scrubbed it. The little kitchen area with beverage is open which was nice if you wanted a drink! We didn't try the continental breakfast so unfortunately I can't comment on that. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfy!! I would absolutely stay here again! read more

If you're heading to the lakes region for a weekend away, head in a different direction from this place. This is the first and last time I will ever stay remotely close to this place. Problems started at check in, I was given the wrong key ( rooms have keyed doors still), walk into the room and I thought I walked into a preheated oven, bathroom had yellowish brown water at first and had a odor. Beds were dirty with "clean" sheets. Floors had dirt all over them. There's too much to write about this one but I'll finish up with the dirty pool and hot tub. I dont think the water has been changed in the hot tub since the inn opened. For almost $500 for two nights I should've stayed home and taken a muddy bath. read more

Pleasantly surprised! We booked a night this week for a Gunstock Ski overnight. It was our first time to Gunstock/Gilford during the winter. My husband booked the room because it checked off our boxes: close to the mountain, indoor pool, and jacuzzi. Our first impression was great, quick check-in and easy parking. When we entered my girls commented right away about how clean it smelled. The room was outdated in regards to color-scheme and furnishings, but this room was very clean. The bathroom was spotless, furniture was polished, and carpets were clean. I am very sensitive to smell and this room didn't smell foul at all. The beds were comfortable and warm. We all had an excellent night sleep. I didn't hear a peep in the hallway or from the rooms next to or above us. The pool was sparkling and and the hot tub was not overflowing with that gross fluffy bacteria foam, usually seen in hotel hot tubs. Towels were provided and we were alone for most of the night! Bonus is a grab and go breakfast the next morning. My kids were thrilled with it. Pre-packages danish, breakfast sandwiches, cereal, yogurt, and fruit. We were happy we didn't need to go out to breakfast. The Fireside was extremely affordable too. We paid $169 for the night. We plan to use this hotel again. We actually found this place totally by accident and booked a week stay months ago. We stayed in a suite that is actually a timeshare. It had a full kitchen, living room, bed room and bathroom. Two huge tv's a clock radio and even a balcony..that went right to my truck! I cannot say enough good things about this place and we're already planning next year's trip! The women at night who work the front desk are absolutey amazing! They literally go OUT of their way to make sure your stay is perfect. The maintenance men were at our door within two minutes when the sound wouldn't work on our tv in the bedroom. Fixed within 5..and never had a problem again. The place is spotless. The breakfast every morning is free and it's actually not bad at all. The girls that work the breakfast also go out of their way to get you anything you want. One day they didn't have bacon and my Fiance was sad..she surprised him the next day and cooked him some! Where do you find such great people..? During mid-weeks it's so quiet..that they don't cook a lot of bacon as not that many guests are there. BUT..she made sure he had bacon and both of the girls that were in the breakfast room were so sweet, fun and very kind. Every night at 5 PM they make fresh popcorn in the machine and it's FREE! AND..they have a little almost kitchen like room where you can go in as many times as you want and get soda, hot chocolate, coffee and water-ALL FREE!! OH..and let's not forget the whoopie buys everyone gets upon check-in! LOOOOVE this place and can't wait to come back! Thank you! read more

Recently stayed here on a weekend trip to the area for my girlfriend's birthday. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating staff. Clean and spacious room with a large TV and refrigerator. The bed was really comfortable and the outdoor patio was a great addition. We did not go in the pool or hot tub but they looked well maintained and clean. I cannot say enough incredible things about Fireside Gilford. Our rental house cancelled on us four days before our wedding where we were supposed to have 21 guests and 2 dogs stay the night before and of our wedding. Elaine and Frank came through for us and SAVED OUR DAY. They were able to accommodate, not only our two dogs, but every single one of our guests for Friday and Saturday night. They were nothing short of AMAZING. I had been so stressed trying to scramble to find a place for all of us to stay, close to our venue. Fireside completely melted away my stress and made the whole experience so pleasant. We will definitely be staying again. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an incredible stay. Pretty decent no-frills stay that's both affordable, comfortable, and pet-friendly ($20 extra for a pet). Our king room was large, had a couch and a gigantic TV and was around $100 per night. When we checked in we got fresh whoopie pies and in the evening there was popcorn and cocoa in the lobby. I would recommend staying here again, the location is also great and our pet-friendly room lead right outside (you'd be surprised how many pet friendly rooms at other hotels are on the second floor!) Just finishing up a wonderful 2 might stay at Fireside Inn and Suites in Gilford , NH. A very nice, clean, roomy room. Great amenities including a mini Keurig coffee maker, fridge, microwave and in room safe. We had a pet friendly room on first floor to accommodate our kitty. Room was spotless and no pet odors detectable at all. Nice indoor and outdoor pools, and an inside hot tub w waterfall. Staff accommodating and helpful. This is one of my favorite places I have ever stayed, especially as a hostel. Everything little detail is so well thought out and adds to the experience of the the stay as a whole. We've been to concerts a couple of times in Gilford and were never totally happy with accommodations until we stayed here. It's not the swankiest, but everything that counts is great. The beds were more comfortable than my own, the staff was super friendly, and it's perfect walking distance from the concert venue. I wish the doors had a little more soundproofing, as I could hear everything in the hallway, but the other guests were mostly families, and totally polite. This is now my Gilford home! read more

My husband and I just stayed here for the second time. Last year, we were lucky enough to stay in the room with the indoor balcony that over looks the indoor pool. It was a nice treat, with an additional room with a fireplace, pull out couch, and said balcony with an outdoor balcony as well. This visit we stayed in the room next door, which we were just as happy with. Since it was low 30's at night, we took full advantage of the fireplace. They have an indoor and outdoor pool and a nice indoor jacuzzi. All of which are well maintained. Another plus is along with their 24/7 coffee and tea, they also have free fountain soda and freshly popped popcorn in the evening. They also have board and card games available at the front desk. All that being said, it really is a wonderful hotel and the staff couldn't be nicer, however the only negative I have is the cleanliness of the bathroom. Maybe I'm just too picky, but I would have preferred the bathroom to have been cleaned a little more during our stay. read more

Whoopie pies at check in!! Also, really close to Meadowbrook. We walked to the venue from the hotel. Close to a NH liquor store, beer, food and ice cream. The actual room was spacious and fine. I think every room has a deck, which is nice. This place is not a luxury hotel or anything but it's great for what it is. There is an indoor pool, outdoor pool and hot tub. This place is great! I was up for a wedding from Connecticut and it was recommended to me by the bride and groom. The people at the front desk were extremely friendly and the rooms were nice with good amenities. They even had a Keurig coffee maker in the rooms. Our tv was not working on Friday but the manager had it working by Saturday evening. We found the pool and hot tub well maintained. I cannot tell you how friendly and accommodating the staff were. A big thank you to Frank Tuscano the manager. He was very helpful answering our questions about the area and checking in to make sure that they were providing us with everything we needed to ensure we had an enjoyable stay. This Inn provided all of the services that were so important to us. It is neat, clean and comfortable. It was within walking distance to the concert venue, there were restaurants across the street including Patricks Pub and a bagel shop, a liquor store, a general store, a country store, walking distance to the marina. VERY IMPRESSIVE was the Inn's pool set up for the physically challenged. With the chair system they have even those in wheel chairs can enjoy the pool and services. read more

We did not have an issue with the room whatsoever. It was very clean and Fireside is situated very conveniently with proximity to everything NH has to offer. When we got there I requested a late check out beyond the 11:00 normal time and totally understood when my request was denied, after all it was a busy Labor Day weekend. The issue began when the maintenance worker conveniently began using his loud electric hedge clippers at exactly 10:00 AM on a Sunday morning, 3 feet from our lower level sliding glass door, while I was still lazy in bed. I'm not a dope and asked the front desk what that was about and she basically blew me off. When I returned to my room, AT ONLY 10:30, the maid was in my bathroom cleaning, cart and all jammed in the front door. When I questioned why she was already there she laughed and said that "a famous band of musicians were waiting in the lobby for this room, isn't it exciting?". No, it was not. Apparently Lady Antebellum was playing at Meadowbrook that evening, arrived very early, and wanted an early check-in which meant that they wanted my wife and I out ASAP. I could not have felt less like an unwanted, second class customer. Apparently that's what you get for $206 per night at the Fireside Inn. read more

I will give this place a one star only because it has good woppy pies , it is my second time with disappointment and managers to do nothing about it. I did give them another shot this year much to my disappointment again. They did not clean my room this time we also ran out of toilet paper and had no clean towels for the next day the manager all he does is cover for his employees that should not be working there. They told me the place was sold out and had to book 2 days I did as they asked only to find out the place was almost empty so if you want A good place to stay try somewhere else read more
