Their gorgeous house is model after a Southern style mansion set on over 60+ acres of land. The views of Lake Wentworth and Winnipesaukee are breath taking. The breakfast was excellent. Even had fresh local scones from the secret bakery in Wolfeboro. One thing should be mentioned. They have 6 dogs on the property. If you don't like dogs or are allergic, this is not the place for you. But for me, it was great. I love dogs. There were well behaved and the whole property is invisible fenced, including the inside. You don't have to worry about them going into your room. All in all, this place is great. I would highly recommend Lake View Inn. It's the perfect lake regions B & B.

The Afton Inn is without a doubt one of the most well decorated and welcoming inn's I have ever visited. The restoration of the farmhouse and barn took two solid years of work and you see the incredible attention to detail the minute you pull around the bend and the beautiful sliding red barn door comes into view. Some might argue that a stay in the Lakes Region is not complete without a night on the lake, but we found the tranquility of the rural farmland coupled with the tastefully designed decor more than enough to keep us comfortable and content for the night.

It was a busy weekend for the area as it was Motorcycle Week and we had a difficult time finding accommodations. After exploring the local hotels and motels we thought we'd give a look into B&B's when we came across this one- with availability!! Connie was knowledgeable about the town and offered us recommendations for dinner. Wally was insightful about the surrounding lakes. We were very fortunate to have found them. Connie and Wally showed us about the property- very beautiful Old New England charm and our hosts kindly allowed us to park our boat behind the building and let us charge it. The common areas were very pleasant and relaxed. Our room was very clean and spacious, the bed very comfortable. The bathroom was beautifully updated with a fun and spacious Jacuzzi tub for two. ;) We had the most delectable breakfast. Wally wakes up 2 hours before breakfast to make the batter for the pancakes. I hope that wasn't a secret! But I'm sure there is more to it as they are crispy on the outside and perfectly fluffy on the inside! I would love to learn how he does this! I can't say enough about how kind and generous Connie and Wally are! We had a most pleasant experience with our first B&B and look forward to another visit.

Then step inside where you find a very comfortable living room and the most beautiful stone fireplace I have ever seen! Most of the rooms have beautiful scenic views of the lake. I have a question though, is there such a thing as a million thread count sheet or pillow case? Because I think this place has them, I have bad shoulders and this was the best sleep I had in years!! That's why I was able to get up early and watch the sunrise and enjoy an excellent breakfast on the porch prepared by the owner himself, thanks Al! The inn was cozy and charming, and Monty and Rebecca were gracious and attentive hosts. They take such pride in their inn, and it shows. The inn itself is well-maintained and beautiful, the rooms are charming and cozy (and some with spectacular views of the lake!), and the amenities throughout were ample. The sheets were divine and so soft; it felt like sleeping on a cloud. The large living room downstairs was the perfect spot to relax by the stunning fireplace and play board games from their many options of games, puzzles, and magazines. There is a selection of coffee and tea in the dining room available any time, and every afternoon fresh, warm chocolate chip cookies are put out. They were delicious and we enjoyed quite a few! In the warmer months, there is a beautiful front porch overlooking the gazebo and waterfront area. The breakfast was fantastic and lovingly made. We were treated to a three-course breakfast in the dining room served by Monty with fresh juices and coffee/tea. First fruit, followed by a delicious pumpkin bread, followed by the main dish. At check-in, they asked about our dietary needs and preferences based on the upcoming menu and catered to our needs. It was excellent and we left breakfast stuffed! Monty was a truly kind and hospitable host and we enjoyed talking with him during our stay. He was even so kind to leave out a few things to go since we departed early before breakfast. Overall, I highly recommend staying at The Lake House at Ferry Point while in town or making a trip for a weekend of beautiful views and relaxation. The Inn was built in 1909 by Thomas Edison. Yes that Thomas Edison, the one who invented the lightbulb. The Inn has so much character it's pure eye candy for those who appreciate the fine craftsmanship of classic furniture, decor and interior design. We stayed in the Thomas Jefferson room, the biggest room with a king size bed and infamously know to have housed Joe DiMaggio and Marylyn Monroe back in the day. The owners were super accommodating and Dave cooked us one of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time. Highly recommended!
