She thought of every amenity possible to make this a luxurious experience. The house was beautifully decorated with many fine antiques...it was very cozy and extremely comfortable. We had a large suite in the 3 rd floor ( of course no elevator, but what would be the charm in that?). We had a peek a boo view of the lake across the street. The large soaking tub was a welcome relief for this weary traveler and she even provided bath salts and bubble bath. I felt like I was in heaven! I would definitely make this a get away if we didn't live 3000 miles away. Small caution on our room. My husband is 6'3" and he conked his head in the declining ceiling more than once (I think it is the first time I heard him cuss in 46 years....but he is over it and wants to book the same room next time....consider yourself very lucky if you are able to land a reservation

Full disclosure, we are a family of neurodivergent introverts- so some of the things people really talked about liking here, were stressful. I don't want to talk to strangers on my vacation. Even if the strangers are quite lovely. The second thing was we overlapped with two family reunions. Both families very nice, but within the pavilion is not just the fireplace and grills, but a bar. As a person in recovery, being this close to constant drinking was uncomfortable and had I known about it I would have skipped it. The owners also let their dog roam around, so be aware if any of your party has a fear of dogs. The only place to swim involves you jumping off the dock into area deep enough for boats to dock, so we had to find state parks each day. The beds were comfortable. The view was nice. It wasn't enough to keep us there for the duration of our vacation.

We recently rented three rooms and enjoyed the beauty that Alton Bay/Lake Winnipesaukee has to offer. What makes this area special are the mountains, trees and the cool water. The view is great, the staff is friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean. The rooms are not luxurious and are as nice as a well kept national motel chain room. No coffee maker or fridge in the room. The price is reasonable and is about half of what I just paid to get a room in Boston. Some of the best times we had were at night when it gets cool enough to sit around the large fireplace under the gazebo. Very nice. We also rented a boat for some water sport and docked at Wolfeboro for lunch. Five stars for the location and beauty of this family run business.

This is not a slick modern hotel. This is a classic wonderful warm beautiful comfortable place to stay for a night or much longer. Rating 1.5 Decided…read moreto pick this location for our stay during the trip to White mountain due to great review and affordable pricing. Since i had some credit to be used for hotel stay we decided to get a scenic sweets with king bed which is best and most expensive room available at the Inn. When we got there no one was there and an envelope left with my name and instruction for parkings and room with a map. It was bit difficult to navigate since it was dark but we manage to find the parking and grabbed our stuff and went up to the room with our code. Room was spacious and cozy. Building seemed to be old but seemed to be renovated and bathroom was nice and clean. Once we got settled we start to notice bugs flying, stuck on furniture, by the window and on the ceiling. Since it's in the woods i understand if it's 1 or 2 but it was more like 10+. I had to get rid of them myself because no one was around and was bothering my partner since she was afraid of bugs. Managed to somehow sleep through the night despite noise of annoying heater and bugs flying against the window and curtains. Next day, We woke up early to leave for hiking for the day. I left a message on the number they had for service to informed the management of the situation and to have them resolve it during the day as we would be out for the day. We spent most of the day out and we returned hoping that situation has resolved. Unfortunately within few minutes of arriving i once again noticed bugs flying and had to deal with them myself because place becomes empty at 8:00pm and does not have front desk or personal after 8:00pm which is odd for a hotel. We were too tired to deal with the issue so we just left for bed. Next day when we checked out I was going to talk to the staff but they are always in and out and office was open but no one was there so I decided to send message again to the text asking for them to fix the problem for next customer and request some kind of compensation for dealing with this issue and not having it resolved during our stay. Unfortunately they declined refund or any form of compensation. With the experience we had and the poor customer service I cannot recommend this place to anyone. Other reviews seemed to indicate decline in service after change in management which may be the reason. I did want to like the place and i did give a fair chance but i will not be returning here.
