If you love old Victorian houses, then this is the place to stay! The proprietors are extremely warm and friendly. We encountered a small snafu but it was handled quickly and efficiently. The breakfast in the morning are delicious homemade meals. Everything comes to you hot. The room we stayed in ( Robert Allen) was very clean and cozy. They provide robes which feel amazing. We enjoyed our stay so much we already booked for next year!! Thank you John and Trisha! See you in 2025. Stay safe P and P W

Just had a spectacular weekend spent at the Lakehouse, what a great spot to relax…read more I especially loved sitting on the the huge farmers porch drinking my fresh brewed morning coffee and watching the sunrise while listening to the loons calling, I felt like I was in the movie " On Golden Pond" ! Then step inside where you find a very comfortable living room and the most beautiful stone fireplace I have ever seen! Most of the rooms have beautiful scenic views of the lake. I have a question though, is there such a thing as a million thread count sheet or pillow case? Because I think this place has them, I have bad shoulders and this was the best sleep I had in years!! That's why I was able to get up early and watch the sunrise and enjoy an excellent breakfast on the porch prepared by the owner himself, thanks Al! Last but definitely not least Al's wife Pamela is just the nicest person, making everyone feel as relaxed as if you were in your own home, she is full of ideas for all your local needs from dining to local recreation. Thank you Lake house for a wonderful stay! Kevin McGowan

The inn was cozy and charming, and Monty and Rebecca were gracious and attentive hosts. They take such pride in their inn, and it shows. The inn itself is well-maintained and beautiful, the rooms are charming and cozy (and some with spectacular views of the lake!), and the amenities throughout were ample. The sheets were divine and so soft; it felt like sleeping on a cloud. The large living room downstairs was the perfect spot to relax by the stunning fireplace and play board games from their many options of games, puzzles, and magazines. There is a selection of coffee and tea in the dining room available any time, and every afternoon fresh, warm chocolate chip cookies are put out. They were delicious and we enjoyed quite a few! In the warmer months, there is a beautiful front porch overlooking the gazebo and waterfront area. The breakfast was fantastic and lovingly made. We were treated to a three-course breakfast in the dining room served by Monty with fresh juices and coffee/tea. First fruit, followed by a delicious pumpkin bread, followed by the main dish. At check-in, they asked about our dietary needs and preferences based on the upcoming menu and catered to our needs. It was excellent and we left breakfast stuffed! Monty was a truly kind and hospitable host and we enjoyed talking with him during our stay. He was even so kind to leave out a few things to go since we departed early before breakfast. Overall, I highly recommend staying at The Lake House at Ferry Point while in town or making a trip for a weekend of beautiful views and relaxation. Cozy inn, hospitable hosts, delicious breakfast, and a superb location right on the lake. We hope to return during warmer weather to enjoy the porch and kayaking. A truly special inn!

This is a thoroughly updated establishment in which the details have been sweated out. In the two story great room, there is a healthy selection of good movies, lots of reading materials, games, and many good areas to hang out. Sondra, the proprietor, was a very gracious and generous host and a fabulous cook. It sounds like her menu changes, but for breakfast we had a strawberry, dark and white chocolate cobbler, an egg and ricotta omelet with fresh vegetables, home fries, cinnamon rolls, and bacon. The cobbler was even better than it sounds, the home fries were savory, the omelet was made with fresh eggs from the on-premises hens, and the bacon was crispy and not greasy. Finally, I would be remiss if I neglected to mention the setting. The view of the lake combined with the White Mountain range is so tranquil in the winter. The panoramic picture I posted of the sunset there doesn't do it justice. The way the entire building is situated on the lot and the way the decks open out onto the landscape is just wonderful and unique. One last note - if you like to watch TV, there is a huge menu of available cable channels, and if you use the Internet a lot, the Wifi is very high speed and works outdoors as well. However, your time would be wasted - your head should be pointed at the view and/or the food and not the screen!

There was a fireplace and a hot tub, both great, especially since the weather was quite cold while we were there! (We went in January). This room also had some great views that we enjoyed in the mornings. Most of our time was spent lounging around -- playing games and sitting by the fire in the Great Room. It was too cold to do much of anything outdoors -- but we briefly went to see the Sculptured Rocks and we did go out for some evening meals. There were so many games to play though; we had lots of fun just relaxing. Sondra also has a huuuuge selection of movies to watch :). BREAKFAST. Seriously amazing. Sondra cooked us some amazinggggg breakfasts!!! My favorite was the bananas foster french toast!! I wish I could have that on a weekly basis! She also made us omelettes and frittatas that were delicious! She is great at adjusting meals to meet your dietary restrictions/preferences. She also had a large selection of juices to pick from, and there were always treats around for snacking on later in the day, and a VERY large assortment of tea and coffee, available 24/7. We had a great time staying here and we can't wait to go back! Hopefully in the spring or summer instead of winter so we can enjoy the outdoors more.

I could truely go on and on, but actually I suggest you get your butt to this place and enjoy a long weekend with our without a special event. (note they do weddings here so it books up!). Just go. Go for the breakfasts, go for the dinners, go and ask Stan for some house-smoked meats! Seriously, these people are amazing, the space is special, and the complete quiet (and darkness at night) are a wonderful relief. Note: Cell signal is poor at best. We were traveling with our two children and chose the inn because it appeared to be a traditional New England property in a convenient location. Condition of the Property: The building and interiors appear not to have been updated in decades. Much of the furniture, fixtures, and decor looked extremely worn and outdated. Rather than feeling historic or charming, the property felt neglected. Cleanliness: Several areas of the inn appeared poorly maintained and not particularly clean, which made it difficult to relax in the room or common areas. Management Interaction: Our interaction with the manager, Stan, was uncomfortable. He came across as dismissive and unwelcoming, which made the stay feel even more awkward. Overall Atmosphere: The general condition of the building was unsettling enough that our children were actually frightened and asked if we could leave and stay somewhere else. While the location could be appealing, the property seems to need significant updates, improved upkeep, and a more welcoming approach to guests.
