A babbling brook basically across the street from the Inn
    Holly W.

I have never stayed at such a cozy establishment before! It was a new experience and we enjoyed it for the evening. There is no front desk per say. There is an office with a laid back guy who hands out keys and walks you to your room informing you about the keys and locks. We stayed in the Edison room. We loved the Sinbad pattern comforter! Brought us back to the early 90's and made us chuckle (a few times.) At first look it's just a bed but then there is a library nook! I loved this touch. Unfortunately I wasn't able to utilize the area due to our schedule. Even for a small inn we were able to adjust the air on the 90 degree day. Small bathroom but fit our needs. Thanks to the Inn it supplied my boyfriend a place to re-coop after a difficult hike. A night in the inn and he was a new man! The front porch had a great view of local fireworks and all the folks on the porch were extremely friendly! Basically across the street there is a babbling brook which we did visit and I certainly put my feet in. Very cute area for families and play live music on Sunday nights. Areas for improvement: Our room needed a paint job because there looked to be some touch up on the ceiling and top wall which needed attention. I would also say the front steps clearly could offer someone some splinters! This is not a fancy hotel chain by any means. This is a small Inn with personality is a small town that shuts down early... BUT you can get your car washed at 11pm!

Adorable little place. Made my vacation that much more amazing -- parking was kind of a struggle but I think it was just busy

Have stayed there many times and both Kathy and Allan the Inn Keepers and their entire staff make it so sad to go but so easy to return.

Even though the cost of the Hilton was $100 more a night I slept better at the super 8. I have lungs that are so bad I'm probably in my last 5 years (or less) of life. Here at the Super 8 the air quality and bed allowed me to actually sleep. Hilton I was lucky to get and hour or two a night. More importantly after speaking to a staff member who checked me in I knew I was dealing with a very kind person who was genuine unlike the experience at the Hilton. At the Hilton sure they were friendly yet from a distance friendly. I was treated very well here and just because it's thought of as the low end in the hotel realm. Some of the greatest people you'll meet exist there, not in the richest climate, where standoffish attitudes often prevail. Easier parking here too and yes they have breakfast too or McDonalds adjacent to the property which was nice. Also better access to the interstate and stores. Hilton you don't win this battle. I prefer genuine people over fake any day of the week and thats my experience here, so yes 5 stars and not changing my mind.

Tearing this place down will be a great improvement to say the least. We booked for 3 nights but left after the 2nd night as we were afraid of picking up a disease. The place was filthy. The coffee maker didn't work (not that I would have used it anyway), the pots & pans were filthy as well. We didn't shower the entire time there. The water pressure was non existent. The game room was locked up leaving a set of horse shoes outside for the only entertainment. Overall, the place sucked big time and was not worth 1/4 of the price. The owners had clearly given up on the place and should feel guilty taking anyone's money. Too bad, we stayed here 5-6 years ago with different owners it was great.

We were recently here for four nights and overall, a great stay! There's lots to like about this…read moreplace. I'll start with the highlights. First, everything is beautiful (and new). Whoever designed this, I'd like to come redo my apartment. From the entrance, to the rooms, to the spa area everything was gorgeous and you can tell a lot of care and detail went into designing it. Second, the staff members are all amazing. Valet especially but also in the restaurant, at the front desk as well as the spa...a super great team. We had a balcony room and that was gorgeous...I loved all the arts and craft design themes in the woodwork, the view was gorgeous and the room was comfortable overall. The fireplace was beautiful but in July, not much need for it. Would definitely be cozy in the winter. The pool area is very nice and it's a great idea to have two hot tubs. We loved going down at night to enjoy a soak. There's also a firepit by the hot tubs. The beach area is nice and there is equipment you can use (paddleboards, kayaks). Meals were good as well. We enjoyed just about everything we had. The only meal that was just okay was steak frites one night. The steak was very bland, the portion was tiny and it was more expensive than what I pay in Manhattan but I would say the desserts more than made up for it. We had a strawberry rhubarb mousse and a Dubai chocolate cheesecake and both were phenomenal. This is a newish place, I think just under a year old so there may be some opportunity for continued enhancement. They seemed a bit understaffed, especially in the restaurant and that led to some longer wait times and the wait staff having to wear multiple hats to serve, take orders, bus and refill water. I liked the shower but it would be great to have an option other than just the rainfall showerhead. A handheld shower head or an angled showerhead coming out of the wall would be helpful. Definitely there is a need for an outdoor shower or at least a spigot by the pool so people can rinse off the sand from the beach. Everyone who came from the beach just rinsed off feet, toys, etc. in the pool which made it look a bit dirty. A sparkling clean pool is much more inviting and the signs when you come into the pool area even say you need to be rinsed off to use the pool but there's nothing available to help with that. One of the workers said that had been a request from many guests. I'd be interested to understand how this place wants to be positioned. On the website, it seems to be pitched as a serene, relaxing location and it seems targeted towards adults, which was just what I was looking for...a calm, relaxing getaway. But when we were there, it seemed more like it was targeted as a family resort. That's fine but there was absolutely no relaxing by the pool during the day as it was taken over by kids who were having fun and being loud...but that's expected by kids at a pool. All the kids were very well-behaved and their parents were attentive. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about kids, but it would be good to be clear what the vibe is. For example, I wouldn't go to Great Wolf Lodge and expect it to be peaceful. It's just important to know what you're getting so expectations are aligned appropriately. My goal was a peaceful, relaxing stay and though I enjoyed being here, it was neither peaceful nor relaxing (except for the 90 minutes I was at the spa). This review got longer than I anticipated. I'll wrap it up by saying this is a gorgeous place to stay, I'm just not sure who the target audience is.

Well, this had not been my first choice to treat my daughter to a spa day for a special birthday…read morebecause prices are, on the surface, ridiculously high. But we found that they're justified to charge it! We didn't book until about a month already of time, for the Saturday of Father's Day weekend. Mani/pedi weren't available due to a wedding party having booked the salon services. So all I booked for us was a regular massage for me and a salt massage for her. Each was well over $200., plus tax and gratuities, but what they offer is amazing. We arrived 90 minutes earlier than our appointment time and were escorted into the locker room and through the premises. We'd brought bathing suits and changed in the well-appointed locker room and locked our belongings in lockers. Took advantage of the hot tub, the beautiful lounges with infused waters and an assortment of high end teas, sat in the sauna...the grounds are exquisite, the parking lot spacious. But the amenities that come with the services (massage, facial) are: robe and slippers, towels, individually wrapped brush, comb, shampoo/conditioner/shower wash/hair elastic, body lotion...not sure if I inadvertently omitted something? We'd have stayed the afternoon except we were hungry. So we showered, dressed, checked out and went to Laconia NH just up the road. It was a morning of pure luxury and our massages were superb, very professional masseuses. A splurge, yes, but at least we feel that they give you your money's worth.
