My first time here. Seemed more like a local spot than a tourist trap. I had the beef stew, it was AMAZING! The portion size could've been a little bigger, especially for the price. However, highly recommend! Will return. read more

This isn't just a tourist spot!!!! The family invites you in and treats you like their own. Great vibe year round with good Irish pub food. Live music on weekends. I miss their old spot for people watching, but now they have more room inside. And if you order a Guinness, Tracy will top it with a cute design. Service is always great. Don't skip it. read more

Great Vibes & Proper Pints! Ryan's is the ultimate cozy Irish pub in Kennebunkport. The atmosphere is warm and authentic, the Guinness is poured perfectly, and the pub far is top-notch. It's the best place in town to enjoy some live music, and feel like a local. A must-visit! read more

Ryan's is THE spot in Kennebunk. Classic Irish pub feel on the inside and a beautiful patio with lots of outdoor seating. It's definitively casual but classy enough to bring the whole family; you feel comfortable and welcome. Phenomenal food and drinks (10/10 recommend the chocolate hazelnut martini) and friendly, attentive service. We visited on a weekend when they had live music and the energy was magnetic. We walked around the whole town but kept coming back to Ryan's because no other place compared. Long after other businesses had slowed for the night this place kept drawing people in and the party was still thriving when we left. If you want good food and a good time in Kennebunk, Ryan's is it. read more

Service was slow. 40 minute wait , some so called mix up on what was appetiser and what was lunch. Ridiculous. They were more concerned on who was there to watch FIFA game. Very disappointed. My recommendation try somewhere else! read more

Music was good, but service was definitely struggling. Really the thing that's making me leave this review is my wife ordered a ginger ale and they clearly gave us a Sprite and Coke mixed. No establishment who treats their patrons like that is going to get a second visit from me. read more

Now in its new place, the staff remains friendly. Excellent bartender. They need to put on the A/C. The band was excellent but way too loud. Tables are very close together. We couldn't stay due to the loudness and the heat. If they fixed these things, we would go back. read more

What a cozy charming spot! The ceilings are low but I'm 5'2 so fine for me! Men over 6' were ducking! There are dollar bills everywhere. Service was great. I had French onion soup. Piping hot savory onions and yummy cheese. My son had fish and chips. Fish wasn't seasoned well but the fries. The fries. So crispy and yummy. Give it a try! read more

Absolutely loved this Irish pub right in the he heart of downtown. Large outdoor tent right in front for extra seating, we however sat right at the bar. Smaller L shaped bar only 10 seats but so cozy. Bartender has been there since the beginning. She was so nice, lots of locals in here. I went with a harp draft. So delicious, gel like was back in Ireland! The entire small pub is decorated with signed bills. Lots of fun flair in this place. read more

Super easy to get into and had such a cool vibe with dollar bills lining nearly every inch of the place. Just outside of downtown, it's a convenient stop for a casual bite or drink. We tried the bacon-wrapped scallops -- they were decent. Service was fine, nothing to rave about, but it got the job done. Great spot for a quick drink and chill atmosphere. read more

Located almost directly across from our lodging, it was inevitable that we would find ourselves at this pub. What will not ever happen again is a return visit because fool me once shame on you, fool me twice and shame on me. Let me explain the first and, may I add, last visit. My wife and I each ordered shepherds pie that was described on the menu as being "just like mamma used to make". Truth be told these were not shepherds pies, but cottage pies and they were bland and likely would have brought tears to a shepherd's mamma eyes. To makes matters worse, we ordered Irish coffees that were mediocre at best. Service was pretty good, the remainder was a nightmare. read more

I give this a 4.5. Might be a little biased with the last name, but the waitress came right too us was wicked friendly and the beer came out fast. We put up a dollar to add to the traditional which is very cool. Very welcoming and recommend. Only downside I'm sweating my balls off. #GoRyanGo read more

Love this place! Very cozy bar/restaurant and a great find in the off season. They've got dollar bills pinned to the walls - and they offer magic markers and thumbtacks for anyone who chooses to leave their mark. The beers are delicious and the food was great. We loved the potatoe skins with cheddar, bacon and other good things. The fish and chips were were excellent and the chicken tenders satisfied our younger diner. My husband noticed someone having the bangers and mash at a nearby table and wants to go back before we leave Maine. The wait staff and people in the bar were warm and friendly. Highly recommend. read more

Whenever I am in Maine, I make it a point to visit this establishment. We love the fish and chips. Service was good. Food was good. If you eat here or stop for a drink do not sit at the top of the steps. The smell of grease will stay on you all day. They prepare the food downstairs and must not have good ventilation. It is best to sit outside when the weather allows. Sit by the front door if eating inside so you stay out of the path of the grease fumes. Staff is friendly. We will visit here again when we can eat outdoors. read more

We've come to Kennebunkport for over 35 yrs from CT, and Ryan's is THE place for a drink, some food, and most certainly the live entertainment on Friday nights on the patio. Went for black and tans, at Ryan's. The place is covered with dollar bills that customers have pinned to the walls and ceilings. It was fun to see bills that our family has pinned over the years! Went here a few times during my recent visit. I think the bartender hates everyone. Well at least us. I'm Irish myself, but I don't get the ignoring people who need a drink sitting inches from your face. It was not too busy when we were there so it also doesn't make sense why service was so slow or inattentive. Also of note, the AC was either broken or just not on, making for a heated interior. This was summer and it was slightly hotter inside than outside with a breeze. Did they leave it off intentionally? Do they just not want you to hang out there? If the surly bartender was nicer or more attentive and the AC was working, we would have been glad to hang out there for far longer than we did each time. This is the only "bar" on the road so maybe they just don't care because they're the only "Irish" game in town? We got lobster bisque and there was no lobster in it. I'm serious. It was just liquid and it was not good. The bartender swore no one has refused it all day but also, we think she was messing with us. She did take it off the tab which was nice. Not a nice place. I did enjoy the Guinness and they build a pint right which is the very least they could, and did, do. read more

Stopped in here for an after-dinner drink on a chilly Saturday night and couldn't have asked for a warmer, more inviting atmosphere. It's definitely a cozy environment - the tables are pretty close together and the space is small - but that only adds to the close-knit, local feeling of the bar. The ambiance was completed by a talented local performer doing an acoustic set with lots of familiar tunes on the setlist. We kept it simple and ordered a couple of Guinesses and ciders, sat back, and enjoyed the evening and the conversation. read more

Staff and locals very rude! I can't give you a review on how the food or drinks were, because my wife and I were told to move to a small table where there was not enough room for a small child to sit, or to a crammed bar stool. Otherwise we were to leave! I'm guessing the next guests were more important then we were. So if you like a very small bar with low ceiling, and a rude staff, this is the place for you! Good Luck! read more

Excellent fish and chips on a dog friendly patio in the lower village! We stopped by this evening and grabbed a great table overlooking Western Avenue with our two frenchies. Our server treated us quickly and was super friendly. She had drinks, menus and a fresh bowl of water for the pups before we knew it. The fish and chips were excellent! The haddock filet was big and perfectly fried in a delicious beer batter. The fries were crisp and delicious and it was a great meal. We'll be back with the pups for sure! read more

We spent some time yesterday walking around Kennebunkport looking at some of the shops and enjoying the scenery. We ended up being hungry for lunch and decided to pop in to Ryan's Corner House to grab a bite to eat. The first thing we noticed were the dollar bills all over the ceiling- what a cool place. It reminded me of my time pub crawling through Ireland a few years ago- Ryan's featured authentic Irish music, cuisine, and decor. Our waitress was very attentive and was the only person in charge of both the bar and dining room tables. We ordered the following items: Seen in photos: haddock on a bun, cesar salad with lobster bisque, and beer battered haddock. Not pictured: Durty Nellie's Onion Rings and Conor Pass Potato Skins. All items were quite delicious and we had plenty to take home for leftovers (good portions). We did notice that there was an upcharge of $2.50 for a side salad instead of fries. Of note, this place often has live music when we have walked by it before. Looking forward to stopping in some evening soon for a pint and some live music. read more

I would say service was bad or maybe you could. The staff was rude and unprofessional- from 2 waitresses to the bartender. I would not Recommend. Our waitress was not nice from the minute we walked in and ask a simple question her answer was so I abrupt and rude. Not sure why we stayed but we did for one drink . We travel a lot and dine out maybe 2 nights a week -I truly can't remember having staff so rude. Don't go!! Small and loud in there. read more

We have been coming here for many years now and have always enjoyed it. Tonight was definitely an exception. I ordered a watermelon martini and when it came, it was not filled to the top. After taking a few sips of it, it was not good at all. A couple other people at our table sipped it also and said it didn't even have a watermelon flavor. We told our waitress and she got me another drink. My husband's cheeseburger was ordered medium rare and it came out well done. Our friend ordered chicken wings and they were overcooked and tasteless. Also, all our food came out at different times and not all at the same time. Upon receiving our bill the waitress did not take the watermelon martini off the bill. When we politely asked if it would be deducted off the bill, she replied that I had drank half of it. As an owner of a food establishment for 20 years, I would always want my customers to be satisfied, no matter what the cost for the restaurant. It was very shocking to all of us for the waitress not to just take the drink off the bill as a common courtesy to a customer. We will not be patronizing this restaurant again. read more

Progressively making our way at through the area, sampling food, and, libations. Very convenient to a large number of other establishments in the area. A nice happy hour. Sampling the lobster roll now... OMG, absolutely the best lobster roll I have ever had! Also, the first lobster roll I have ever had. Still, don't let that diminish the first statement. The lobster is fresh and tasty, not too much mayo, with a hint of something to enhance the flavor. The fries are warm and crispy, and, you don't have to season them yourself. My have to come back tomorrow. read more

Really wanted to come here as my husband and I had walked by many times. We were in KBPT with our infant son and as soon as we entered we were promptly told they don't allow strollers in the restaurant. Despite the fact that we had already tucked our stroller into a corner where it wouldn't be in anyone's way. They offered us to sit outside, in the rain, when it was 55 degrees out...with our baby. Hmmm....no thanks. If it was the Ritz Carlton I'd understand not being family friendly but an Irish dive bar? Not cool. Will never return, even sans baby. read more
