    Patio and fire pit

Ryan's is THE spot in Kennebunk. Classic Irish pub feel on the inside and a beautiful patio with lots of outdoor seating. It's definitively casual but classy enough to bring the whole family; you feel comfortable and welcome. Phenomenal food and drinks (10/10 recommend the chocolate hazelnut martini) and friendly, attentive service. We visited on a weekend when they had live music and the energy was magnetic. We walked around the whole town but kept coming back to Ryan's because no other place compared. Long after other businesses had slowed for the night this place kept drawing people in and the party was still thriving when we left. If you want good food and a good time in Kennebunk, Ryan's is it.

We spent so much time here on our weekend trip to Kennebunkport because it felt like home! Such a welcoming bar with incredible and true Irish staff. A lot of beverage choices and live music. The outdoor patio is a great hangout spot.

What a cozy charming spot! The ceilings are low but I'm 5'2 so fine for me! Men over 6' were ducking! There are dollar bills everywhere. Service was great. I had French onion soup. Piping hot savory onions and yummy cheese. My son had fish and chips. Fish wasn't seasoned well but the fries. The fries. So crispy and yummy. Give it a try!

Absolutely loved this Irish pub right in the he heart of downtown. Large outdoor tent right in front for extra seating, we however sat right at the bar. Smaller L shaped bar only 10 seats but so cozy. Bartender has been there since the beginning. She was so nice, lots of locals in here. I went with a harp draft. So delicious, gel like was back in Ireland! The entire small pub is decorated with signed bills. Lots of fun flair in this place.

I give this a 4.5. Might be a little biased with the last name, but the waitress came right too us was wicked friendly and the beer came out fast. We put up a dollar to add to the traditional which is very cool. Very welcoming and recommend. Only downside I'm sweating my balls off. #GoRyanGo

Located almost directly across from our lodging, it was inevitable that we would find ourselves at this pub. What will not ever happen again is a return visit because fool me once shame on you, fool me twice and shame on me. Let me explain the first and, may I add, last visit. My wife and I each ordered shepherds pie that was described on the menu as being "just like mamma used to make". Truth be told these were not shepherds pies, but cottage pies and they were bland and likely would have brought tears to a shepherd's mamma eyes. To makes matters worse, we ordered Irish coffees that were mediocre at best. Service was pretty good, the remainder was a nightmare.

Love this place! Very cozy bar/restaurant and a great find in the off season. They've got dollar bills pinned to the walls - and they offer magic markers and thumbtacks for anyone who chooses to leave their mark. The beers are delicious and the food was great. We loved the potatoe skins with cheddar, bacon and other good things. The fish and chips were were excellent and the chicken tenders satisfied our younger diner. My husband noticed someone having the bangers and mash at a nearby table and wants to go back before we leave Maine. The wait staff and people in the bar were warm and friendly. Highly recommend.

Went for black and tans, at Ryan's. The place is covered with dollar bills that customers have pinned to the walls and ceilings. It was fun to see bills that our family has pinned over the years! Always a good time and great place to meet locals as well as out of towners. It you are in Kennebunkport, make this one a stop.

Authentic Irish pub! Great food & service. Try the house made bread pudding and don't forget to add your dollar bill to the decor!

Loved this pub. Our waitress was very kind and you could tell it was a local bar. Fun place! Soups were very good and drinks were strong

Batson River is the latter, and we loved our lunch outing in one of the adorable seasonal outdoor ice fishing sheds. We chose a few "handhelds," including the blackened haddock tacos and fried haddock sandwich, both of which are served with a red cabbage slaw. I enjoyed the tacos - the ratio of fish to slaw and aioli, etc. was just right. And the sandwiches are served with a generous amount of crispy French fries. On a weekday in March, many of the local shops and restaurants were closed. It was an unseasonably warm day, and we were happy to stumble upon Batson River for a fun and memorable lunch!

We had lunch here on Sunday, just after seeing Santa on the boat from the bridge down the street. Highly suggest putting your name in before you want to eat (it was about an hour wait when I put our name in at 11:45). Their reservation system sends you a text when they put your name on the list, and from the link they send you, you can also check your position on the list. They text you when your table is ready. When we arrived with our dog to check in, we were given a couple of seating options in the outside heated deck area. We chose seats looking outside, which were topped with fur warmers, which made them comfortable to sit on. There are plenty of heaters on, which made it nice and cozy. Also, the plethora of Christmas decorations inside and out, made it also feel cozy, and festive. For lunch, I had the blackened fish tacos, which comes with mango pico, red cabbage slaw, chipotle aioli, cotija, on corn tortillas. They were super flavorful, and delicious. I stuck with fries, and they even had sour cream for dipping them. We will absolutely be back to try more of the menu!

At one point, she put the phone on hold, and walked back to the kitchen. Rule #1 of hospitality: Always service the people who are literally in front of you, and took the time on a cold night to drive and to patronize you and your establishment. Put phone callers on hold. We were then seated in a back corner booth with no view of the restaurant. When a waitress appeared, I asked the price of the Lobster BLT listed in the menu section of their website. "Oh, we don't have that anymore." I asked why it remained on their website. I got a dirty look. She went on to tell my party that they actually had NO lobster in house. In Maine. My partner ordered a Reuben sandwich. He opened it up and we found about 1 tsp of sauerkraut inside. The breading on my fish sandwich was overdone and beyond crispy. But the most infuriating moment was ordering a cup of hot tea. Hot water and a tea bag, nothing more. Since the waitress had disappeared, I had to physically get up and ask for a hot water refill. The waitress I did find didn't want to help, instead pointing in another direction, saying "She's over there." I tracked her down; our waitress was talking with another employee. I asked for some more hot water to refill the cup with the same teabag. She brought it. When paying the bill, I found l'd been charged $6.50 for 2 cups of tea. Wow. One teabag and one refill of hot water. $6.50! The food was not great, the service horrendous, and the charges ridiculous. We'll be heading back to Federal Jacks soon. I doubt we're ever returning to this poorly run restaurant.
