I had such a great experience here! The food was delicious, the drinks were great, and the atmosphere was exactly what I were looking for. I also want to give a special shoutout to the bartenders and one of the patrons who went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and taken care of. Their attentiveness, kindness, and willingness to look out for someone they didn't even know really meant more to me than they probably realize. It made me feel genuinely safe and cared for. Service was super slow. We were the only ones in the restaurant at lunchtime and we almost walked out because we waited so long. The burgers were good, but the haddock bites were not good. It's a bit of a dive bar. It was nice they had games to play while you waited a long time. There are better options in the area. read more

Visited last night, wish I didn't have to work today because they had a nice filk singer who's there every other Thursday, I believe. Grace, a very nice and attentive young lady was my server. Had a a hankering for a Smitwicks but the menu stated 20 oz. Happy I asked because they had a 12 oz too! Love that Irish beer!! Guinness just a bit too heavy for me. Order the NY strip w mashed and roasted brussel sprouts. You couldn't fit a toothpick on the plate if you tried!! The portions of the sides were huge, the steak a good size too. Everything was hot!! Thanks so much because I hate just warn food. The Brussels were phenomenal!! Nicely dark, crunchy, flavorful. Huge mound of mashed with just enough lumps; left half behind there was so much on the plate. My steak was perfectly cooked! Enjoyed the sear on the outside as I live in an apartment and I don't get a grilled steak very often. Just enough marbling. Loved my dinner. Had an Irish coffee for dessert. I was really looking forward to trying The Dun Bar, but unfortunately, my experience was underwhelming. I ordered the grilled queen prime with Brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes. My sister-in-law had the fish and chips. The fries that came with the fish and chips lacked freshness, and the coleslaw had an overpowering onion flavor. However, the fish itself was flaky and well-cooked. My prime rib was served without au jus, which I had expected. The Brussels sprouts were barely warm and a bit tough, as if they had been sitting out for a while. The mashed potatoes were plentiful--enough to serve four people--and had a nice consistency and flavor, but they were served without butter, which made them feel incomplete. The owner personally waited on us and asked how the meal was. I appreciated the opportunity to share my honest feedback, but there was no follow-up--no gesture to try again, not even a small offer to return. She just smiled and said, "Thanks for the feedback." Wow! I cannot say enough good things about this pub. My wife and I stopped in on a Sunday and we were greeted by the owner and she was so nice and welcoming (I unfortunately didn't get her name). We got our pick of places to sit and we decided to sit in the bar area, close to the action! Every interaction that we observed was great and friendly between the staff! On top of this, the ambiance and decor of this pub is straight out of Ireland! We loved it! Now on to the food!!! I got the Reuben and my wife got the Irish Brunch Bowl and holy crap were they both sooooo freaking good! The brunch bowl is easily 2-3 meals in itself and the Reuben was your traditional, homemade Reuben with homemade corned beef! Both were so delicious and we couldn't get enough! Everything was perfect at this fairly new to the scene Biddeford Irish Pub and restaurant. Cozy nook seating, holiday decor, live music in the bar area, generous portions, strong drinks, a fun, personable and professional waitress, clean bathroom, and absolutely delicious dinner. The atmosphere rivaled any authentic coast of Ireland establishment (GREAT job). Our three generation family is VERY particular, it's hard to find a spot that appeals to all. They were not busy at all but today was a freakishly warm weathered day in Maine! Staff was wonderful! Very friendly and inviting! Irish decor galore! The food is scratch made and delicious!!! I ordered the "family favorite" chicken pot pie. There was no chicken. For $23 I was served subpar mashed potatoes. The Dunn Bar is once and done bar. The chef / owner came out of the kitchen to ask patrons how their dinners were. Never approached me. He wore a tee shirt that had profanity printing across it. What a welcoming place! This place was on my "to go" for a long time and now I only regret not coming sooner. The staff are SO welcoming, the food is delicious, it's family friendly and ready either way markers if you need, music on Friday and prime rib on Sundays. Don't make my mistake and come early. The Dunn Bar opened in the former Wonderbar in Biddeford. This Irish pub opened recently which offers a full bar menu including 8 draft beers, liquor, and cocktails. The food menu at the time of this posting was still evolving and limited. The place has dim lighting which has seating up at the bar, as well as booths and tables in the same room. I stopped in recently for food close to mid-afternoon. The place was pretty quiet and they had the Red Sox game and a soccer match on the TVs. I took a seat up at the bar and the bartender gave me a menu and a glass of cold water. I wasn't drinking beer until later on, so I stuck with food only. The food menu offered fish & chips, cheeseburger, haddock cakes, Irish nachos, wings, reuben, cottage pie, shepherd's pie, corned beef & cabbage, Guinness Stew. They did not have bangers & mash available, so I ordered Father John Murphy's Guinness Stew. The Guinness Stew was served very hot in a crock, which had soft lamb in a braised beef Guinness broth, potatoes, carrots, peas, topped with a puff pastry square and served with a soft chewy roll & butter. I enjoyed the hot and hearty stew as I watched TV and took a break from the heat outside. Afterwards, I was all set and the bartender came out with an electronic card reading device with the check total of $17.28 before tip. This was a good quick mid-afternoon lunch. I can only imagine how busy this place gets in the evening during dinner rush. read more

We came in on a whim for some good Irish style food. Irish they had, including cottage pie, Shepards pie, corn beef and cabbage, and many other dishes. The service was decent. We were sat right away, and she made sure the kitchen was still serving food. We got drinks and ordered dinner. There was a singer doing live music, he was very Irish, or at least sounded Irish and was pleasing the crowd and having them join in. He was very loud, and no talking could happen between myself and the date I was with... the music was nice I just don't think it needs to be that loud. The food was good, not great, the garlic scallops was 36.00$ for 6 scallops. The corn beef and cabbage was 24$, I'll show the picture below. The prices were a bit high in my opinion, even for todays higher grocery prices. All in all, a nice place, decent service, music was too loud, and the food was average. Last night we had the pleasure of dining here. Working under much duress the staff shone. The bartender called in and they were short staffed. Despite the handicap the service was beyond cheerful. To top that off the drinks and food were great. I had a perfectly poured Guinness and my wife a dirty martini followed by fabulous fresh diver scallops and lamb shanks, both specials of the day. Finished the meal with a delicious bread pudding. Wouldn't hesitate recommending Dunn's and look forward to returning soon. read more

The Dunn Bar was extremely cozy and quaint. We visited on a busy Friday night (thankfully got some seats at the bar) and were able to enjoy the TVs and menu. It was very personable vibe and the bartenders were awesome. They have two huge TVs that hosted some great games. What a welcome addition to the Biddeford restaurant scene. Located in the old Wonderbar building, this newly opened Irish pub is excellent in pretty much every way. The owners who are often seen greeting people, are very nice and welcoming. The bar is very nice and has two very large TVs. The bartender, Landon is absolutely awesome. He makes some very good looking cocktails and engages people in conversation and helps give the place the nice local pub feel that you look for. They have the big 3 Irish beers on tap (Guinness, Smithwick's, Harp) which is awesome and very few places around have. Then there is the food. I've had the shepherd's pie, bangers and mash, and the lamb burger...all are phenomenal. Can't say enough good about this place. I will be a regular here hopefully for years to come! read more

A large group of us go out to dinner regularly. This was one of the best experiences we have ever had. Kudos to the owners! First of all, the place is spacious, clean, and well-appointed. Welcoming was the theme of the night. It is not easy to serve 12 people with several individual checks. Here it was seamless. Service was fabulous. Their selection of specialty drinks was really interesting and inspired some to try new things. Beer on tap was a great variety. Food was all cooked to order from fresh ingredients and very well done. The entree pies were picture worthy. More than ample servings for everything ordered. Found this gem on the way back home to Boston from Portland. The staff is friendly and attentive. We happened to meet and chat with the owner who was super friendly as well. He told us everything is locally sourced, prepared in house, and never frozen. The food is superb. My girlfriend and I had the seared scallop appetizer, then we split an order of fish and chips and a Reuben sandwich. The seafood was fresh and very well prepared and seasoned, super tasty. The fries were hand cut and perfectly crispy. Saving the best for last, the Reuben was amazing. Probably the best corned beef I have eaten in my life. We were excited to try this new establishment in Biddeford and sat at the bar at around 4:30 in the afternoon. The good: -It's cozy and has lovely decor. -While we didn't try the food, it looked and smelled amazing, and everyone we've spoken to who has tried it says it's really good. -We had two of the specialty drinks and they were excellent. -The server who greeted us at the door was very friendly. The not-so-good: -The bar seats were so close together that it made it difficult to get in and out. -The drinks were very tasty, but small for the price. -Every person gets a glass of water. This doesn't sound like a bad thing, but if you try to decline, you are told that you don't have a choice; you MUST have a glass of water in front of you. The bad (and the reason we will not be back): -The bartender is a condescending a** who needs to get over himself. He makes a good drink, but his attitude is abysmal. Bottom line: If you do try this place, go for the food, maybe one drink, and sit at a table! read more

Saw the articles about this placing going in and was wanting to try it out since they talked about their sourcing strategy of seafood from Sopo and meats from Pineland. They've done a nice job refurbishing the Place after the wonderbar and it's in a great location but sadly it's just another Irish pub with a pub menu and mediocre food. I had the lamb burger which was I asked for as medium and was told they only serve it well done- and we'll done it was as well as dry and flavorless. At 18 buck I would have expected better. (BTW if you want a really great lamb burger try Lost Fire- bigger better juicier at about the Sam price and cooked medium if you want it). The fries were good. The beer selection is pretty mediocre 8 or so beers (obviously Guinness) but nothing from any of the local brewers. These days are if you aren't offering 20 local brews and great food, it's hard to compete read more
