OC Brussels Sprouts

Super cool easy going bar/restaurant. Bartender was very friendly and sweet. We got pork dumplings, Brussel sprouts and tater kegs. All of it was outstanding. Flavorful, crispy and just plain delicious!

O'Reilly's was probably the best restaurant in the Old Orchard Beach area I've been to. Drinks were super delicious! I forgot the name of my drink but I believe it was Garden something. We ordered pretzel bites which were delicious as well. Ordered side garden salad but it came with Mesclun lettuce instead of Romaine. Ate it but would have rather had Romaine. Home made Ranch dressing. Daughter had cottage pie and was very good. I had BLT which was also very good. O'Reilly's is a really good option if you are in the area. I forget to take pics right away but got some mid stream.

We love O'Reillys. Every time we visit the Scarborough Farmer's Market on Sunday, a visit to O'Reillys (right across the street from the market) is a must. Irish-American food with a Korean flair? That's O'Reillys. We've gone a few times for brunch and have always been very happy. The extensive menu offers light fares, classic breakfast options (like eggs Benedict), and some hearty dishes. The price-to-food ratio is unmatched. Seriously, we ordered their poutine during our last visit, which is listed as an appetizer, and we could barely finish it; it was so yummy! My partner's go-to is the steak and eggs skillet with tamari marinated steak tips. He says it's one of the best meals in town. The coffee is always strong (and includes free refills!), and the cocktails are also to die for. Don't skip the Bloody Mary's; 10/10. Lastly, the service is always excellent! We've had multiple servers who've always been so friendly and attentive.

Shrimp Rice Bowl

This spot is decent, but I wasn't wowed. First thing is that the interior is very clean and the staff is welcoming. Their menu has a good variety of dishes, with plenty of gluten free options. We ordered the brussels to start and they had a lot of flavor! The cheese and bacon really brought out the flavor of the whole dish. For my entree, I decided on a rice bowl with shrimp. The portion was a little smaller than expected, but it was good, just tasted like an average rice bowl. The sauce it comes with is spicy, so I recommend getting it on the side if you can't handle too much spice. The service was ok, she wasn't super friendly but was efficient with bringing our food. We might decide to give this place another shot in the future.

Went here for dinner the other night and was very impressed with the new menu. They have lots of different options and cool interesting items. We tried the new Boxty (Irish Potato Pancake) appetizer and it was very good. I got the Hosien Chicken Bowl and it was good but not my favorite. The inside has lights and a big pretty bar. The service was friendly and quick. I will be back to try some more of their new menu!

Mediocre food, slow service. It'll work in a pinch h but not a destination I'd seek out.

For me Howie's Pub is five stars... all the way. I consider myself a connoisseur of dive bars…read more Although, you may think that's an oxymoronic statement, I think if you've traveled to enough dirty bars throughout this country to get a sense of a "good" dive bar and "bad" dive bar, then, you too, are a connoisseur. Howie's has it all, cheap food that's made with love, an owner who cares about keeping his place authentic, all-night-long cheap cocktails, beer, and well drinks. The other thing I love about this bar is that it is so close to downtown Portland and (cross my fingers that it stays this way) it doesn't have even one element of a hipster vibe. It's old-school Portland at its best. Hard-working people stopping in for beers and food after a long day. I love it! Howie, the owner is there frequently, and doesn't put up with any crap. He creates his own trivia on Tuesday nights which packs the house. Don't even get me started on the drinks. Cocktails are about $4 to 6, on the high-end. They have landshark and Michelob Ultra cans for two dollars, all the time. It's cash only, but there's an ATM inside. The one thing that you need to be aware of is the parking situation. This place looks like it is located on a walk up area just off the 295 exit, which it is. To park you need to go around to one of the back streets and walk in through the back entrance. This is what kept me from this bar for so many years before I had a friend say, "Hey, let's meet at Howie's!" I quickly replied, "How do you get in that bar?" And then I learned the secret of the back entrance. So please, don't tell all your friends about Howie's. Keep it a little bit of a secret, because that is the only way this place can stay as "Portland" as it is.

My favorite part is that it still feels part of the mill system while having an updated aesthetic. It doesn't feel out of place - it feels right IN place. I normally come here to have a beer or two with a friend & catch up when I'm in the area, I enjoy their beers & they usually have one or two new drinkable things kicking around on their menu - I have yet to try a beer I haven't enjoyed. They have a fairly decent menu but I typically stick to pretty common mainstays - I've never had a bad experience. Service is always friendly & attentive.

We had to park at the lot near the mill buildings and water and walk a pretty good distance to get to the restaurant but I guess I could use a few steps. Walked in it was very loud where they wanted to seat us under the canopy where there were some unruly bar patrons so they brought us to a quieter area. We sat for a long while before being greeted by our server. But we still wanted to give it a shot. We ordered poutine with portobello mushrooms and the three tables around us got their full meals before we got our appetizer. Then, she took our main course order and like the app, the food took forever and we are usually very patient. The server was super nice but just was very slow and the fries in the poutine were cold. The main course was a root salad that my wife thought was pretty good with turnips and vinaigrette. I had clam chowder and calamari/shrimp dish ... I paid almost 20 bucks for the calamari and got about 5 pieces and 4 small shrimp and the chowder had no flavor. We then asked for a box to put her salad in and the waitress forgot. Until she realized as she was dropping off the check. I don't think we will be back .. maybe just for the outdoor patio ambiance but, not the food.

We sat down and it was pretty crowded on the holiday weekend but the service was very prompt even though they were definitely overloaded and we ordered a couple of appetizers after walking for a while on the beach. We ordered the veggie loaded nachos that my wife LOVED and was a huge portion and seemed to be fresh and delicious. The only critique is the fact that the sour cream and salsa were small little pre packaged containers and were so small compared to the size of the plate of nachos. I also got the buffalo bone-in wings where the sauce was cooked into the wing and I liked it a lot. The drawbacks here is if you are expecting high class and a bougie nice restaurant, this is not the place for you. It is a dive bar pub with pub style food. The place was a mess and tables were littered with garbage and the past patrons stuff. The bathroom also was backed up and people clogged the flush and didn't report it until we did for the staff to clean or fix. Now the real question is, would I go back here again? Probably not as I would rather have something with outside seating but it really was the only option that we had at that moment. But it was not as bad as some of these folks have reviewed.
