My 5 year old Dell Inspiron PC was sick. I tried home remedies and looked online for help, but…read morenothing worked. Dell only got sicker, with occasional times of remission. Ultimately, Dell went into cardiac arrest (blue screen with core dump) and some sort of coma. I tried replacing the memory but Dell remained in a coma. That was when I came across That Help Guy (aka Dennis). Dennis has the demeanor of a very experienced doctor. He immediately put me and Dell at ease with his initial phone consultation. Once we determined that Dell would not be easily revived, I brought Dell to Dennis. The problem ended up being a corrupted c: drive. Fortunately, I had most of my data backed up on external drives, but for the parts which were resident on the c: drive and not backed up, Dennis managed to recover that data (some Documents and Photos). Dennis also gave me suggestions for a new c: drive to purchase, which I bought for him to install. Now my PC is running again. Bottom line: * Dennis is a great person to so to for computer help. He knows his stuff really well from his many years working as an IT professional and from being That Help Guy. * Dennis is very reasonable and fair on service cost. * Back up your data. I was lucky that he was able to recover things on my c: drive.

Fix My PC - Fast, Honest, and So Worth It!…read more So I had this computer I really loved, but one day I accidentally spilled hot chocolate near it... and it got inside the computer. I tried to clean it up, but I guess I didn't do a great job, because after that, things slowly started going downhill. The screen would randomly go black, it lagged like crazy, and some of my games just wouldn't run right. After dealing with that for almost a year, I finally decided to have it looked at. I had taken it to another shop once before for a different issue, but they kept my PC for over a week and honestly, I don't think they diagnosed it properly--because the hot chocolate mess was never addressed, and the problems continued. This time, I found Fix My PC, and I'm so glad I did. The gentleman there was super kind and clearly knew what he was doing. The shop is small, but don't let that fool you--he's sharp. After a proper diagnosis, he found the issue: the video card had been damaged from the spill. He cleaned it out thoroughly and replaced the card--and had it all done in just 3 days! I couldn't believe it. Fast, accurate, and no upselling or runaround. He came…read moreto pick up the computer and asked for 40 dollars and later called that he needed more time to complete the diagnostics. He requested for additional 20 because it was time consuming. I paid the requested amount and 2 days after he the repair it went back to the same problem. He took it back again but this time, it took 3-4 days to complete. When he returned the laptop after a few hours it went back to the same problem. I gave up, I think this is bogus.
