After calling several computer places, I called Dave's Computers. Dave was the only tech who was willing to look at my broken laptop immediately without charging me a fee for expedited service. I met him with my laptop, near his former store. He looked at my laptop, said he could fix the problem within 24 hours for a reasonable fee. He kept his promise. I had my fixed laptop computer the very next day for a reasonable amount. He seems to be a good, honest guy. I overheard him talking on the phone with a potential customer. This past weekend, I had my Dell all-in-one take a nasty little dump on me and it completely froze, despite repeated restarts. Realizing that it was only recently out of warranty and not wanting to deal with the knobs at Best Buy, I darted around Yelp and came across some pretty good reviews for Dave. The fact that he was local didn't hurt. I gave him a call only to realize that I had him on his mobile (he had his calls forwarded). I briefly and generally explained my issue and he informed me that he actually works a half day on Saturday, but he could meet me in an hour. He was actually there before I showed up and he expedited our consultation. That really impressed me. He gave me a preliminary diagnosis that seemed actually pretty reasonable and he gave me a flat and firm estimate. I agreed and by Monday, my computer was ready. He went over with me what was wrong and everything that he performed on my computer. The fee he quoted me was the fee I paid. No nasty little surprises. Within thirty minutes from thanking him and leaving for home, I had it plugged in, powered up and running very nicely. It has been running noticeably faster and no other problems have popped up thus far. All in all, I would highly recommend Dave's computers for all of your concerns, technical issues and needs. In my case, his work was expedited, efficient, reasonably priced and actually pretty friendly. He's a really good guy. I even had a chance to speak to one of his team and she was really decent. Outstanding lifesaver! I took my computer in to have it looked at because it needed service and it wasn't working. So he opened it up and plugged it in. He diagnose the problem - that because of the age of the computer, it was more costly to fix it then to buy a new one. Dave is amazing! The computer at my store crashed and I needed it fixed ASAP. Dave met me to pick up my computer and said he would have it fixed by the morning. That kind of turn around is amazing! But within a half hour or so, he called me and let me know my computer was too old and not really worth fixing. He even said he wouldn't fix it, because he wouldn't feel right taking money to fix something that wasn't really going to survive much longer. The fan on my HP notebook started groaning, so I took it in to geek squad at Best Buy in case I maybe still had a warranty on the purchase. They wanted $350 carte Blanche to diagnose and repair - in the event it was something more than the fan. I don't think so. So I yelped computer repair in my neighborhood and found Dave's. Left my laptop there on a Friday since Dave said the replacement fan was coming in on the Monday. A much better deal at $100 for parts & labor. Dave treated me with the upmost respect and gave me a free diagnostic. Most computer repair shops charge $20-30 just to look at it and even make you come back a day or two later. I came in and he immediately helped me out in his station in the back of the store. He saw that I had a lot of dust piled up in my fans and proceeded to take it outside and clean it up. Afterwards, he quickly diagnosed my PC with a bad power supply. He offered a great price on a replacement power supply unit along with labor. Although I ultimately decided to ask my friend for help, I appreciate the effort Dave put into making sure I knew what the problem was and what I need to do to fix it. I enjoyed talking to him.
