Fix My PC - Fast, Honest, and So Worth It! So I had this computer I really loved, but one day I accidentally spilled hot chocolate near it... and it got inside the computer. I tried to clean it up, but I guess I didn't do a great job, because after that, things slowly started going downhill. The screen would randomly go black, it lagged like crazy, and some of my games just wouldn't run right. After dealing with that for almost a year, I finally decided to have it looked at. I had taken it to another shop once before for a different issue, but they kept my PC for over a week and honestly, I don't think they diagnosed it properly--because the hot chocolate mess was never addressed, and the problems continued. This time, I found Fix My PC, and I'm so glad I did. The gentleman there was super kind and clearly knew what he was doing. The shop is small, but don't let that fool you--he's sharp. After a proper diagnosis, he found the issue: the video card had been damaged from the spill. He cleaned it out thoroughly and replaced the card--and had it all done in just 3 days! Took my computer a few times and the guy is nice and all was well but he seriously overestimates things. He broke my cpu mounts, caused my gpu to have insufficient cooling.. charged a lot for basic services.. now after I got a better understanding of computers and I see the damage on my computer. I brought in a piece of hardware I needed repaired, It has now been three months since I dropped it off, and despite multiple visits to the store, and leaving messages with the store over multiple phone calls (messages which were never returned). I have been unable to to get in any updates on my equipment. Furthermore, the store now seems to be closed, I have been there several times during the day to try and get my equipment back so I can take it somewhere else to get fixed, and theres no one there. We've had several computers serviced here and have always been pleased with the results, as well as the customer service. Recently, I took in our reconditioned Lenovo all-in-one because of a hard drive failure (bummer!). Mr. Chauncey recommended that we replace the traditional hard drive with a solid state drive. Not knowing much about this stuff, I researched solid state drives and, indeed, learned that they are the new craze in hard drives. Very good service, Mr. Chauncey looked at my computer, went right to the original problem where my computer was kicking me off of the internet for no reason, he looked into the issue and offered several possibilities and would narrow it down to one. A secondary problem I asked about showed that the computer was not properly repaired in the first place by a squad...who will remain nameless. He reinstalled the drivers for the wireless, and updated the drivers for the keyboard that the other people were supposed to have done after shipping my device out of state for two weeks and sending it back in whack condition. I'm pleased with his work. And I'm picky about who I use to fix my stuff. I took it in on the 31st, he was done on the 2nd but I got it today because I was busy and did not have time to go by there on yesterday. Very pleasant, no nonsense, professional and competitive prices with good workmanship is all I wanted. So go there if you want the same. I recommend!
