So I took to Quick fix on Redondo Ave. He took Computer apart cleaned the computer good put WD40 on ball barrings and fix the problem plus ordered us a new part from China. My computer wouldn't turn on unless it was plugged into the charger. If I unplugged it, it would immediately turn off- regardless of the battery percentage. Dropped it off in ten morning and got it back and hour later...working. And I only paid the service fee. Here's what I like about them: 1) when I first dropped it off, he told me he'd take a look and give me a call to tell me what he could do. Short Story: Do not let Chris touch your laptops. Do not sign anything from this shop because they say that you are liable if they damage your devices. Long Story: Brought my laptop in because one of my CPU fans was starting to go out. It still ran, but I wanted to get it fixed before a problem started. I called and spoke with Chris. Told him my computer model and the issue. He said he would likely be able to fix it, but needed to see it. I brought it in on a Wednesday and he said he would have the replacement fans on and the repair completed on Friday. On Friday, I had to make two trips to the store because he declined to take my laptop's power adapter the first time. When I returned the second time, I opened my MSI Center app to check the speed of the fans. I noticed that the fans were approximately 2000 RPM slower than the manufacturer fans. When I brought that to his attention, his response was that it would be fine, but it is all "cheap Chinese ****". After I returned home, the computer overheated and shutdown after approximately 15 minutes of playing a game. I called him back to explain the issue. At this time, he compared the original fans (which I left at his shop) with what he ordered and said he ordered the wrong fans. He placed an order for the "correct" fans which were going to arrive the following Tuesday. I go back to the shop on Tuesday and dropped off my laptop. A few hours later, he told me it was ready. I go back in and check the MSI Center app to discover that one fan was not spinning at all. THIS WAS NOT EVEN THE FAN THAT HAD THE ORIGINAL PROBLEM! He said he would open it back up again and take a look. Meanwhile, he blamed the laptop for all the issues. I told him to take his time, because I would rather it fixed right that rushed. The next day, I called at approximately 12:30 P.M. wondering if he had a chance to get to it yet. He responded with "I'm ready for you, I got to show you something." So make yet another trip to his shop anticipating that my laptop at least works properly. Yet again, one fan is not spinning. He is then tried to explain to me that he spoke with other techs and was told the fan would speed up as the computer got hotter. He completely ignored the times I told him that hitting Fn + F8 activates the cooler booster function on MSI laptops forcing the fans to run at top speed no matter the laptop's temperature. He wanted me to go home saying there was nothing else he could do and it should be fine. The laptop once again shut itself down because the temperature got too hot. I asked for a refund and for him to put the original fan back in. He told me it would take a couple hours. I opted to sit there and wait. It was done in about 30 minutes. He then asked me to sign the receipt for the first time despite picking up my laptop the other times and never needing to sign anything. This raised a huge RED FLAG. Upon closer review, his "Receipt" has terms, conditions, and liability waivers on the backside. Including the explicit language of "When Customers authorize us to perform repair and/or upgrade services on their computer systems, they assume all-liability and responsibility caused by any service" When I brought that up, I refused to sign and provided the example that if Chris had broken a pin on my laptop's motherboard and as a result one of the fans no longer had power, why would I be liable for that? He denied having broken anything. I sent the laptop to MSI for a diagnostic and repair. They confirmed that the fan connector pins on the motherboard needed to be replaced and that was the cause of one fan not working. Chris took a small problem and turned it into a huge problem. All the while, he insulted and blamed all the issues on my laptop. read more

Horrible experience. Took in my laptop for repair, they claimed it could be repaired, so I left it there and waited a week. After receiving my "fixed" laptop it was less than two days later when it stopped working again. I brought it back in and they offered to sell me a used one they conveniently had at their warehouse. I agreed to purchase it and to my dismay this laptop did not work either... I proceeded to bring it back to them and they spewed out excuse after excuse. I am a student and was starting a new semester. Nearly a month later, I told them forget it. I'm almost certain they had sold back to me my broken laptop claiming it was the "used one" they had in storage. I was completely ripped off. They were quick, called me, let me know when things would be done (and they were done well) and were really reasonably priced. I got a new hard dive, data recovery, and virus protection. I brought my laptop in to get the hard drive replaced (by their recommendation) bc i felt like my HP laptop was running a little funny... I figured to invest, thinking there would be no room for any kinds of errors or slow loading for my laptop! Boy was i wrong... they broke the prong on my power cable while it was plugged into my laptop thus possibly damaging the cord's input jack. I couldn't even charge my laptop battery... So basically my laptop was out of commission. So basically I didn't even know if the job they did on my computer was worth the near $200! I called the place and requested nicely for a mgr and got a BS of an excus e that they didnt know where he was and that this situation wasn't their fault when I literally figured this all out within the first 10 mins of arriving home and trying to turn on my laptop. So I got into my car and started practicing my angry-ghetto attitude--mind you, I'm an Asian from silly Temecula! I know absolutely nothing about being "hood" but my practicing paid off bc those guys gave me a free power cord! YIPEE... Sike. The cord was way shorter than my original cord, and the input jack was definitely messed up so the cord's plug wouldn't fit properly and charge my laptop's battery. I do not recommend this place for iphone screen replacement. I had my screen repaired here and had temper glass put on top of the phone for extra protection. The iphone became unresponsive within days and I took it back. The guy repaired it but it still had a few glitches every now and again. No problem. I dropped the iphone again and took it in for repair and found out that the temper glass was never put back on after the first repair. I explained that to him but he refused to repair my phone, saying that I'd forgot to put it on.... Wait!!!! What? He then told me to pay an extra $85 if I wanted my screen repaired. Wish I would have checked this place on Yelp before stepping foot in the store.. fortunately for me I was saved by the store's own bad business practices from actually having to deal with the headache some of these people went through... Went in earlier today to see if they bought laptops. They do but i didn't have my laptop on me and I got the vibe the dude behind the counter (owner?) didn't want to deal with me anyways. i should have taken that as a sign buut i was feeling hopeful for mankind so i shrugged it off as me just being sensitive. I let the guy know I would be back later today. Business hours said they close at 8pm on M-F. I go back at 5pm & waddya know... closed. I think this is the single worst business practice one may have. It shows unreliability, disorganization and is just plain RUDE. If it's gonna close at 5 please state so on the hours, maybe a lil' note that says "We will be closing early. Sorry for any inconvenience." or when i told him I was coming back he could have told me then that they were, indeed, closing early. UGHHH. Based on my own experience and almost every other review for this place, I think the problem is the business and not a couple discerning people. Wake up- dude behind the counter who I assume is the owner. I normally don't leave bad reviews unless warranted. When I called inquiring work to be done with my computer, the guy I talked to was very distant and short, but I shrugged it off. When I went to drop off my PC and try to explain to the guy what was wrong and just have a conversation he was the same way, just not very friendly and seemed stoned. I was told I would get a call after they ran diagnostics, and that they have about a 1 or 2 day wait. Which is fine with me I didn't need it rushed. 2 days later I decided to just give a call and see what was going on, the guy I spoke to was much friendlier, and I was told they had run a diagnotisc already and that they were gonna proceed to work on it, and I was told he would call me in a few hours. I never got a call. Very unprofessional to not even call to let me know what's going on or if my computer is ready or not. This is the second time I have been here, and I had a similiar experience last time. I will not be coming back in the future. And I don't recommend it to anyone who values customer service, I mean I'm not asking for super friendliness, or kissing my ass, I understand they're computer techs after all.. But I mean come on.. I got my i phone screen replaced on short notice here while I was in town for the weekend. I'll just list what I didn't like about the transaction... 1. My phone battery goes down about 2-4x as fast as before I had the screen replaced. 2. My screen won't shut off when I am on a call so my cheek ends up hitting "end" or "mute" or "speaker". 3. There is a black dot at the top of the screen that looks like the result of a pressure crack or factory blemish. 4. Most recently, the screen was flashing in and out after only a week of use. It is a real bummer of a situation because I live far away and can't just come in and get it changed again. They said they would and thats cool but still doesn't help me because I live 4 hours away and was hoping it would've been done right the first time. read more

If you're looking for a place to fix your phone, this place is not great. They may be inexpensive, but they take their sweet time and sometimes have rude service. I've had my phone fixed here a couple times and the first time it was around $50 to replace the screen; the next time I got a rude man who upped the price on me for no apparent reason. They say it'll take an hour but that's because they wait to get around to it. If you want awesome service that is quick and just as inexpensive, I found Delta phone repair on Junipero and Anaheim to be the best. read more

This place is shady, should have checked the yelp reviews before stopping by. Google shows 4.5 stars, I don't know why lol. Wanted to get my laptop back to factory settings, so I called ahead and asked for a quote, the guy told me itll be 89.99 and itll take about 40mins to do, so I dropped off my laptop at 3:30pm and he told me he would call as soon as he is done. 2hrs later, no phone call. so i stopped by and the laptop is sitting where I left it and the guy (Chris) told me that he needed more time cause he needs to break through some codes and bypass some passwords.?? so he would have it done first thing in the morning the next day. I get home looked at alllll the yelp reviews and panicked haha. so I drove the next day there before they open which was supposed to be 9am but the guy didnt show up till 1010am. and saw him bringing my laptop in from his truck? guess he took it home. Laptop was already opened up, he said he tried everything he can but the laptop had a bit lock and he couldn't factory reset it. now the laptop doesnt even turn on anymore, which it use to load up perfectly fine to the sign in screen. and he said I would have to ship it back to Lenovo to have it working again. so the laptop is useless right now and I have another shop working on it. the other shop doesn't know yet what he did to it but will update review once they get back to me. read more

This place is a scam. I dropped off my computer a few months ago for a diagnostic check because my computer wouldn't turn on. He told me it was a bad motherboard so I bought a new one and he installed it for $100. We went back home and the pc turned on but the screen would just stay black. We took it back to him and he says it's a bad hard drive. We left it there for about 2 months until our hard drive came in. We go back to him so he can install the hard drive and he recycled all my parts. Now they do have a policy saying after 20 days the owner could do what ever he wants with the computer. We was never told this when dropping off the computer they just have a small paper in the store saying it. So I ask him why wouldn't you tell me about the policy when I dropped off the computer or why wouldn't you call or text me about the policy before recycling all of my parts. And he tells me "if I tell the customer about the policy I wouldn't be in business for the last 16 years" (meaning I don't tell anyone about the policy so I can just sell all their parts without them knowing) so basically they sold my $1400 computer without me knowing.
