We moved so we had installation kings come out again to mount our TVs. After doing the intake over the phone, the technician came out and we were told there would be additional charges for what we wanted to do and that he did not do any drywall patching. The quote was then way more than what we were expecting so we didn't move forward with the work. We were then told they had a $75 cancellation fee - something we were never told over the phone. I've never had this happen before. Even with our other handyman, plumbers, etc. - if you can't do the work, you don't get paid for NOT doing the work. We were told that this would cover gas expenses - why take a job that is out of your network? They knew our address well before coming out. Also, some of our intake conversations were over text, so I wish we discussed the job over photos so they knew what we wanted to do in terms of the job and give us a proper quote. I felt somewhat bothered a few days later when I discovered a bathroom fan exhaust vent duct had been crushed because it was laid on. is a 6" diaper thing metal duct that got squished to the point that air would not flow out properly. I found Ben / Installation Kings at a serious dead end for me - I had multiple other teams come out to try to install our Frame TV to complete and utter failure. First company said that they could do it by cutting *FIVE* holes in my beautiful, expensive, and most importantly *unpatchable* plaster wall which would forever scar the artisanal handwork finish with *FIVE* visible aberrations. Another team said they could run the OneConnect cable "discreetly" in one of those plastic feeding tubes that runs over the wall, which would defeat the entire purpose of getting a Frame TV that is supposed to look like a gallery piece. Even my wonderful contractor suggested that we have the plaster company replaster the entire wall if we want to move forward. Guys, I was in a really dark place over this. Nearly everyone said "Why don't you give up? Why don't you just return it and get a different TV?" BUT I PERSEVERED. From the moment I found this Yelp page and called Ben to ask about installing our Frame TV I knew I was in good hands. He immediately suggested a backbox for the TV as a solution whereas the other installers had no idea what I was talking about. He was super responsive and transparent about timeframe, pricing, etc. He also seemed to truly care about the aesthetics of hanging the Frame TV (which is literally the whole point of buying The Frame to begin with). He asked me to email him photos of the setup after our call and got back to me immediately on budget, timeline, and potential complications for the install. Next thing I know Michael is at our house installing the Frame - Michael may actually be my hero. He was so methodical and detail-oriented and boy was the installation a b*tch. The plaster was unexpectedly like the thickness of concrete which Michael handled so beautifully and with such precision. At a certain point Michael had to go outside (in the pouring rain by the way) to do a last minute WELDING job to cut and seal a metal box. He was like a hybrid electrician/contractor/metal worker/builder. It was amazing to watch. And now, the TV is done and *it* is amazing to watch. We truly couldn't be happier and it's amazing to know that all the haters were wrong and now they eat their words when they come over and compliment us on our TV that they don't even know is a TV. There is a reason why I have used this company 3 times...they are quite simply...THE BEST...PERIOD. I was looking to update our living room's TV. I recently sold our 2014 65" Sony XBR65X850B 65" 4K Ultra HD 3D TV to upgrade to a Sony X81CH 75" Smart TV. Interestingly enough, Alex from Installation King was the one who installed / mounted (& actually cleaned up the messy installation job of the previous -now defunct- company) back in September 2020 (you can refer to my very 1st review here). I reached out to Installation King via Yelp message, & sure enough, Kate L. responded within a few minutes. I told her what I would like done & more importantly, that I would like to specifically request "Alex" since he had installed 2 previous TVs - including the very TV that he would be contracted to replace this time. Kate did not hesitate to accommodate my every need. Her communication skills are 2nd to none as she is quite quick with her response. Specific recognition should be acknowledged for Kate because she is a true asset to the company. If management is reading this, please give Kate a raise. She is nothing short of PHENOMENAL. Fast forward a few days later to the day of the installation (I was out of town on business, so Alex kindly waited for my availability), Alex calls me about 45 minutes prior to his scheduled arrival time. Sure enough, he arrived perfectly on-time. Not only that, he is one of the most courteous people that you will ever meet. And he is one of the foremost experts on TV's, soundbars, & mounts. Personally, I was unsure if my current mount would support a 75" TV. Alex could tell that it would be no problem just from looking at the mount. Sure enough, he was right. Not only that, he went from opening the brand new TV from its box to mounting it to the wall (I helped him lift it as it is a 2-man job) in less than 20 minutes (he was scheduled for 2 hours). The man is a TV mounting god. Also, Alex did not hesitate to answer all of my questions regarding what my options were if I decided to upgrade to an 85" TV in the future. You can bet your bottom dollar that there is no one else that I would want to install my future TV's & soundbars more than Installation King, & more specifically, Alex. We just moved into new to our new home and scheduled Installation King to mount 3 TVs. They gave me a two hour window from 12PM-2PM. I called at the two our mark and was told they needed to call the tech and get back to me. I then was told that the tech was held up at another job and was stuck in traffic. The tech text and said he was hours out. I responded with I will see you at 4pm. I wanted the work done, I took the day off and was willing to wait the extra couple hours. At 4:45 he yet to arrive. I will preface this review with I am a returning customer. Two years ago they assisted in my first move and it was seamless with no issues. For this move, I booked the service on 10/17/2024 knowing that I was on a tight timeline to move. The installation was supposed to occur on 11/2/2024 and Installation King even picked the 10-12 p.m. window because it was most convenient for them. I waited until 12:15 p.m. and called. My reservation was not in their system (even though they confirmed through email). The gentleman on the phone claimed to have no access to the company email and appear frustrated when I kept referencing the information in the email. The offered solution was having a tech come on 11/03 -- after I don't have keys for the unit where the mounts on. Overall, the service is great. The customer service is not. UPDATE: I spoke to Tatiana. She was very apologetic and offered to make the situation right if I had not hired someone already -- which I did because it needed to be done on the day it was scheduled for. I really appreciate her customer service. She made me feel like she really was sorry. However, Installation King noted they checked their call logs and did not get a call from me. On 11/1/2024 I googled their number, called it, and asked if it was installation king. The person said yes. Even IF I called the wrong number, I emailed Installation King at 11:23 A.M. on 11/01/2024 stating: "If the installation person needs to call me when they are here my number is xxx-xxx-xxxx." No response was ever received. The insinuation that I called the wrong number even after I emailed them my number to reach out is frustrating especially since Installation King acknowledges they received the email. I hate leaving reviews like this. But after repeated phone calls and me acknowledging everything is fine, to continue to say they did not get a call when they acknowledge they got the email is tiresome.
