I called about a quote to fix my Macbook air battery and he kindly rerouted me towards a shop that specializes in them. Very helpful even when I was not a customer. read more

Friendly service and a quick fix! The technician stuck to the quote even though the problem was a little more work than anticipated, and I received my device back about 6 days earlier than was stated. I also got recommendations for data storage as well as advice on about how much longer my device will last. Affordable, great service :) read more

Incredible and Fast service!! Jer is super knowledgeable and does a really great job of explaining the issue. I told him some of my symptoms and he instantly knew what the issue was and had it fixed within a day of working on it! Highly reccomend! read more

Highly recommended! Jer was very knowledgeable and helpful. Originally went to the Mac Store and it could not be fixed.

They were nice but didn't fix the issue but my computer works again! They did tell me just to do a computer update!

Glad I found Jeremiah when my laptop battery died. Helped me get her up and running. Professional and friendly.

Responsive approachable and very very eager to be helpful. Went to Best Buy and they told me $85 non-refundable diagnosis fee and they need to ship it to a center and it could take 3 to 4 weeks for a diagnosis only. Left and went to Error Code instead. When I told them this was my son's computer for school they jumped right in and 1 hour and $40 later fixed! Thank You Error Code! read more

I brought my old mac tower here after it stopped working during the heat wave last week. The crew at Error Code took a look at it quickly after I brought it in and were kind enough to tell me it was time to move on to a new computer. They provided me with some smart tips on what to look for in a new computer and removed my hard drives from my dinosaur mac free of charge. I highly recommend this spot for their service and customer friendly staff. Thanks guys! read more

Laptop damage: laptop fell down with power adapter connected - adapter end snapped and stuck in charger port Repair: removed stuck piece in 30 seconds with recommendations for power adapters Came in the middle of the day for the above issue and they fixed it in 30 seconds! I worked at Microsoft for 8 years in many roles and have built my own rigs from the ground up since 1998. That said I know a thing or two about PCs. I live in Seattle, but my Dad lives in Long Beach. I called all over LA and Orange county looking for a Computer repair shop and finally found Error Code and met Jeremiah. So glad I did! Jeremiah built my Dad an amazing PC. We were looking for something with speed and reliability for just under $1k and got exactly that. You click and instantly your application is open and ready. Finally My Dad will experience a real speed demon (desktop) instead of those throw away Dell and gateway laptops he's been plagued with issues on all these years. Jeremiah went above and beyond. He came out to my Dad's place and installed the PC and arranged, hid and labelled all the wires under his desk (I never asked for that he just did it). He said he doesn't usually do house calls but in this rare occasion it had to be done because even though my Dad is a retired mechanical engineer he struggles with computers. It's a generational thing. If I could give 10 stars I would! THANK YOU ERROR CODE!!!! PS No matter where you live in SoCal, make the drive. You won't find someone better to build or fix your computer. PS;PS I'll add pictures when I can. ======================================= 3/5/2019 ======= I've been searching all over SoCal trying to find a computer shop that is a Microsoft partner who is capable and can hold a techy conversation so I can get what I need. That is to get my Dad a computer that is solid but fast so his experience is fun instead of horrible as all of his past computers have been. We need a reliable service to take it to if there are problems since I live all the way up in Seattle and my Dad is computer illiterate. The owner got it and it looks like we got a good deal going. I'll update after they build it and my Dad gets his new computer. So far they are great and I recommend! read more

These guys were able to get my pictures and documents onto my external hard drive from my broken Dell laptop. They figured out how to see my pictures and documents on my MacBook. Very dedicated, intelligent, friendly guys who were amazing with fixing my problem. (Had gone to a guy before here who was going to charge me over $300 just to try.) I was charged waaaaay less here, and they gave me a military discount! **HIGHLY RECOMMEND** read more

This place is amazing , Matthew helped out with an issue with my Mac, he was able to quickly diagnose and repair the issue . I found a new computer repair company. read more

I strongly recommend contacting Error Code for your PC issues. On two separate occasions, Justin quickly diagnosed the problem (two separate ones) with my old/customized PC. He even upgraded my (by PC standards) ancient graphics card with a slightly-more-modern one, free of charge. The topper was, he wasn't even going to charge me for all this! IMHO, since it's dishonorable to have work performed on one's behalf for nothing, I just gave him all the $1 bills I had in my wallet both times, to at least pay for lunch or something. Two tips for patrons: (1) the shop itself is easy to miss; it's at the end of a rather dilapidated mini-strip-center right beside a car wash; and, (2) if you're bringing your PC in, I'd advise calling first to ensure that Justin will be there when you bring it in. read more

We just called to get an estimate to repair a computer screen and the person on the phone told us to go on Amazon an figure it out on "how to'. Very rude. May 11,2021 read more

The guys working at Error Code PC were very friendly, respectful, and funny with me, but also very knowledgeable about computers. Dennis went to great lengths to figure out what was wrong with my laptop (hp computer had a bad motherboard and the screen would not turn on anymore). They gave me options on what I could do with my laptop, I told them that I needed to sleep on it, and lent me one of their laptops for free because I had homework I needed to work on. They really went above and beyond to help me during my bad laptop situation. Sadly, I ended up having to get a new laptop because fixing my old one was going to be about $300 for parts and labor, but the guys at Error Code PC did all they could to help me. I will definitely be going to them from now on. I don't trust Best Buy anymore with my laptops, but these guys, I trust. read more

My laptop crashed on me yesterday so I looked up computer repair on yelp and found these guys just down the street from me and with 5 stars. Now when I say crashed, the computer wouldn't do anything. One friend told me it was the motherboard, the other the harddrive, another a boot sector. Too many opinions from friends so I decided to get professional help. Dennis was very friendly and helped me right away. Unfortunately he discovered that my harddrive is toast. He spent some time helping me decide whether I want to replace the hard drive and upgrade my 4 year old laptop to Windows 7 (because Vista was causing me all sorts of problems even when the laptop was new) and get a new battery to replace the currently very dead battery. In the end it was more economical to just buy another cheapo laptop. I felt bad for taking up his time but he didn't charge me a dime for the diagnosing the problem. I will definitely take my computer to these guys if I have any more problems. Seem very trustworthy and know what they are doing. read more

So far so good. Frustrated with my laptop and its slow speed, I looked around and read YELP reviews until I found someone local and reviews seemed favorable. Called today and spoke to Anthony who was incredibly helpful. He remotely logged into my laptop, found the issue, recommended a product that would be beneficial and showed me where to order it from. Once the new hard drive comes in from the site he showed me, Ill take it in for installation and mirroring of my existing hard drive. Good job so far Anthony. Thanks for taking a tech tard to the understanding level of how this works read more

Found this place on Yelp but somehow missed the Yelp deal :( took my laptop in when the power jack stopped working. They ordered the part and fixed it within a few days. The part was 20 and the labor 80 but it was cheaper than a new laptop and so far i wasn't really having any problems with my laptop. A few weeks after that (2/2), my laptop shuts down on me out of nowhere and won't charge anymore. I take it back and they offer to take my laptop apart again and make sure it wasn't an issue with the work they did the first time. Unfortunately it seemed to be an issue with the motherboard and they recommended getting a new laptop instead. I'd definitely go back to them. They are pretty quick and set realistic expectations. read more

When GPS guided me to the doorstep of Error Code, I was somewhat put off by an older row of offices that haven't been updated in years. Then I was greeted by Nicole, the nice lady with whom I spoke to over the phone, who gave me hope that the nuclear wipe out solution of my hard drive could possibly be averted. I walked into the office and saw floor to ceiling computers, alien gaming towers, and monitors, a real sign of computer and gamer geeks. What a relief. They're too busy and computer focused to bother with appearances. I'm grateful to Master Technician and computer geek Nicole for providing a customized solution to a sophisticated hacker's thwarted attempt to take over my computer. Before speaking with Nicole at Error Code I visited a computer repair shop on seventh in long beach that had one expensive $250 solution to every hack job: "Erase everything but the files. You, customer, reinstall the software. That's the only way." That may or may not have to happen. In my case it didn't. All I wanted was an honest investigation and a solution tailored to my computer problem. I got it here not at the place on 7th Street, which is spotless, possessed of clean and shiny floors, sparsely populated by computers, and well-organized. Appearances almost had me. I wouldn't hesitate returning to Error Code for computer solutions. Thanks to yelpers for writing reviews that praise honesty and talent and call out dishonest and predatory business practices when they see them. That's how I found Error Code. I'm really honored to be a part of this community, and pay it forward with my own honest review. read more

Thank you to Justin! I attempted to build a gaming pc for my son. This was my first timing building a computer. I managed to get power, but I could not connect to the monitor. I took the computer in to Justin on Saturday. He quickly diagnosed my problem. Something had gone wrong with the motherboard and cpu. Justin recommended a better motherboard and cpu. He was kind enough to write everything down. He was so kind and generous with his computer knowledge. Today, I managed to finish rebuilding the computer with the new motherboard and cpu. I'm happy to say that I have a connection to the monitor. This is all thanks to Justin. If you have a computer issue, I'd highly recommend taking it to Error Code. They are always willing to help solve the problem. read more

What a great experience! I was able to walk in and get my home-built PC diagnosed and fixed in under half an hour. I'm quite a novice at building PCs, and the shop owner knew this within a few seconds of looking my rig over. Instead of giving me grief, he offered some great advice and fixed a few things that were a bit wonky in my build. Pricing was extremely competitive. I learned a lot and saved a lot coming here! read more

Took my laptop here because the screen wasn't working. Dave helped me out and ordered and installed the new screen in less than a week. Would definitely recommend checking these guys out. Edit: It has been a few months since I got my screen repaired, it is still working but sometimes when I boot up I have to play with the angle of the screen to get an image. Also several USB ports and my HDMI port no longer work. read more

Came in with grandsons laptop that was out of storage. Justin was very helpful guiding me through what was needed. We planned on getting our grandson a gaming tower for Christmas. Well he was lucky Jeremiah gave us a better price if we had laptop fixed and bought tower at same time. Very pleased with the product, service and quality. We are not very PC savvy and had to call a couple times for help. Have had no problem with aftercare. I highly recommend the company and extra kudos to Justin for his patience. read more

Great guys and AWESOME customer service. The name is perfect for guys like me... not really sure what is wrong, but I kept getting an 'error code"! They spent about 30 minutes diagnosing my computer, then figured out they could fix it. Not really sure what they did, but when I picked up my computer it had been 'scrubbed' of all the nastiness and was running great! I had some issues when I got home, but I called them and they fixed my issues remotely for no additional charge. I hate it when my computer hits the wall... but glad to know these guys when it does! read more

My HP printer suddenly quit printing, giving me an error message about needing a certain kind of paper. My wide search on the internet resulted in no solution. I contacted Error Code and spoke with Jeremiah. He spent an hour on the phone with me trying to find a solution, but couldn't. He did not charge me for this time. The problem probably is due to my HP printer being 6 years old, that I'm using an iMac and HP doesn't play well with Macintosh computer.
