The sweet young lady gave us some samples and recommendations. I chose her favorite which was Horchata and my husband picked the blueberry lavender lemonade. Both were so wonderful and refreshing!! Whoever thought of opening an artisan ice pop shop is a genius! I've been to numerous Hyppo locations but this one is my favorite and a must-do when visiting St. Augustine. There are so many different flavors to try, you probably want to know where to start. Well, I'm not much help because I tend to get the same flavor every time I go because I love it. (Once I tried something different and it was good but I'm still a creature of habit.) But they have a large array of flavors, including vegan options, something for everyone. Plus, they've added the option to dip your pop in chocolate. The Blueberry Lavender Lemonade is my go-to. I recently stepped out of my comfort zone and tried the Champagne Mango. Upside was I didn't end up with a purple tongue and lavender all in my teeth... but the BLL is still my fav. I love how fresh this pop tastes. And the fresh ingredients make it feel like such an indulgence. Also, they have La Croix in glass bottles. What the what?! Yes please! If you're in search of a unique treat look no further! I first tried The Hyppo's ice pops at the St. Augustine lighthouse, where a couple flavors were available for sale. I loved the one I tried, though I can't remember the flavor, but I was excited to try more the next time I was in the area! Last week my family and I returned to St. Augustine. This time we went to the main store itself in the middle of St. Augustine's shopping district. This time I tried the Peach Arnold Palmer. Delicious!! We even bought merchandise from the store. Very unique Popsicles. Many are sweet, but not too sweet. They have quality ingredients and you can taste the care that goes into making it. My son LOVED the strawberry popsicle because it tasted like a ripe strawberry. My husband loved his Key Lime popsicle and my daughter enjoyed her avocado coconut popsicle. I had the blueberry lavender lemonade, which was tarter than I expected, but very good (especially on a hot and humid day). They had around 20 different flavors available when we visited. read more

I have no other way of saying this except that I am obsessed with these popsicles! I've heard about them a lot, but thought that popsicles couldn't be THAT good! Ok.... I already know everyone is going to boo and hiss at me, but I don't care. I'm entitled to my opinion. Jennifer G really pumped this place up to me to be something out of this world spectacular and told me I just had to try it. Well, she knows I don't do weird. Seriously, I'm picky and eat like a two year old. Weird food is NOT my thing. Therefore, weird popsicles are not my thing. Weird flavoured popscicles priced at $3.50?! Most definitely not my thing. I'll try one of the darn outrageously expensive popsicles. She insisted I try something weird. I put my foot down and decided upon the least weird concoction I could find which was Champagne Mango. I was thinking Champagne + Mango. (Check out my photos of the place if you'd like to see some of the weird flavours they were offering) As I started eating it, all I could taste was Mango, so I inquired about it. I learned that Champagne Mango is actually a type of Mango. Interesting. Learn something new every day. I will admit, my popsicle was good. I do like mango. Was it worth $3.50? Hell no! In my opinion, it wasn't worth more than a buck... maybe a buck fifty. I would have much rather had a couple of scoops of ice cream from one of the many ice cream shops in the area (Kilwins was practically screaming my name)! The girl working was extremely sweet and friendly. The shop was cute and I loved the way it was decorated. If Mexican Coke is your thing, they have bottles of them here ($2.50). I opted for a bottle of water ($2.50). Will I be back? I'm sure I will because I just know Jennifer will drag me in here every time I'm in St. Augustine with her. My my I do not get it.. I can take fruit and put it in a blender put a stick in it and in the freezer it goes . I just do not get it.. If you want a Popsicle that has been made with real art go a short way to Claudes Chocolates . You have never tasted anything on a stick that has such flavors. What makes it Gourmet? The price ? Absolutely Amazing!!! There are really no other words to sum it up. Who would have thought popsicles could be so amazing. We were in town for volunteer construction work in Palm Coast and stayed just around the corner from The Hyppo in St. Augustine. I wish we could have come for dessert every night. The Blackberry Goat Cheese was my favorite. Although the plain strawberry and strawberry basil were pretty tasty as well. Such a unique concept. Absolutely delicious gourmet frozen fruit pops. I'm not sure why they call them ice pops. At first I thought they were going to be like shaved ice - water with some syrup flavor and was glad my family talked me into trying them. I was blown away!! Here's my only gripe: $3.50 for a Popsicle. It was the most expensive Popsicle I've ever purchased! Maybe it was just the neighborhood I grew up in. I digress. Other than the ridiculous price, I did enjoy my guava hibiscus Hyppo pop. At first it was almost too sweet for me, but after a minute or two a hint of tartness came through to balance it out. Thanks fellow Yelpers for sending us here! Best feature: consistency of the pops, I am comparing these to ones tried at King of Pops (in Atlanta) and the store bought mass produced kind. The texture of these cannot be beaten; no icy feels like it may have been freezer burned crystallization here. Flavors tried: Coconut pistachio (group favorite - super creamy!), strawberry basil (my second favorite or first favorite if I wanted light and refreshing), datil pepper strawberry (just enough spice), key lime, coconut (pretend you are in the tropics), pineapple cilantro (I liked it, but I think I prefer cilantro in savory dishes) Staff: friendly, helpful, funny! On our recent trip to St. Augustine we returned to some old favorites like Casa Maya across the street from this place and made some new favorites like The Hyppo. Quick service, mix of "regular" and more adventurous flavors. I am more the adventurous eater kind so I really appreciated that touch. Another plus is that this place is so super cute. It got it's name from the street (Hypolita) that it is on and ran with it. The decor of random hippo cuteness is the bright colors puts you in a true popsicle-eating mood. read more
