We didn't want to go home just yet so I quickly googled some dessert spots open late. We parked nearby and walked to Peace Pie which was so close to the main square where Nights of Lights is during the holidays (noted). There it was, a bright and colorful storefront situated amongst a group of aromatic formal dining restaurants. It just so happened to be buy-one-get-one night, which is only on Tuesdays! I got the cookies and cream, my friend got the praline flavor and they were both absolutely delicious! I loved how the ice cream had lots of mix-ins and was frozen hard enough to not melt in our hands immediately. They serve the sandwiches in a lined paper wrap so even if things do get melty, it was easy to stay neat. We made a new friend in Stephanie who was (wo)manning the counter that night. She gave us great flavor recommendations and some ideas on what we can do during our next trip to St. Aug! Found a new favorite! Check out Peace Pie!!

I ordered the cinnamon coffee and found it excellent--robust, well-balanced, and flavorful, not diluted as is unfortunately common at some other cafés. The quality and care in preparation were evident. Overall, The KOOKABURRA is a delightful and ethically run café.
