While shopping here we needed a bucket to do grouting on a project my son needed done that day. They were completely out of buckets. Cashier Sally got us help, but no one could find a bucket. I stated "well that sucks we have to find another store just to get a bucket". Eileen heard my comment said hold on a minute. I had a really great positive shopping at Home Depot for outdoor trim paint. We previously had picked up various paint chips, then bought about 6 different small cans of sampler paint. We applied a small section of each to a board to put up next to our brick home to decide the winner. I wasn't sure which type of Behr paint to buy and Jess was very helpful. He asked me a few questions and I asked him a few questions and we landed on what we would need. I ordered 3 gallons of paint. He got the paint in the shaking/mixing machine, gave me some wood stirrers and a metal pry key and a plastic pour spout. I didn't know some paint lids were now plastic, cool! I told him my painter was coming within the next couple of days. He said make sure that the painter doesn't paint outside if the temperature is above 90 degrees because the paint might not adhere correctly and flake off. Luckily my painter started early in the morning snd got the job done before the heat of the day. Thanks Jess for all of your helpful advice! I then headed to the check out lanes and I was greeted by Joyce! She was so nice and friendly and rang up my paint lickety split! This place is hit or miss for me. Sometimes the employees are helpful and other times they won't give me the time of day. I went in a few weeks ago to get wood planks. I asked one of the guys in the wood section to cut off 4 pieces in a specific size. He looked at me and said "we can't do that" and walked away. Completely confused I left and went to Lowes where they cut the planks exactly as requested. I went back to Home Depot last week and tried again because I was needing to build shelving. I picked out the piece I wanted and asked a guy if he could cut the the dimensions I needed. He said no problem. Often more times than not I get a helpful person and then a non helpful person. This Home Depot specifically tends to be short on employees; if not they are hiding because I can never find them. This is a decent place to go. This is a review of Home Depot flooring in Richardson Dallas. Stay away! These people do crap work. We used Home Depot to get some new linoleum installed to remove a trip hazard (seam had come undone on the old linoleum) for my 89-year-old mother in law who lives in a different city - so we weren't on-site for the installation. The linoleum had a square pattern of tiles on it and the Home Depot installer, Cooper Installation Services, installed it on a bias. Apparently they couldn't be bothered to line it up with the walls of the room. We're just going to live with the angled installation since we don't want to let these people back into the house. They left the linoleum with sticky glue residue all over it and handed my mother in law a container of mineral spirits and told her that she would have to clean the surface of the linoleum. After spending two thousand dollars I found myself scrubbing the floor to remove the glue during our Thanksgiving visit. read more

Home Depot is mislabeling wood pickets and they know they are doing it because I've told them on multiple occasions. Looking for cedar pickets 5/8 x 4" x 6 ft or even 8 to make fence repairs. For the last year Home Depot has been selling 3 1/2 " and passing it off as 4". The sign says 4" and I had an employee look up the sku on the tag on the end of each piece and it's 4". Yet if you compare to 4" pine, which they have, or put a tape measure to it.....it's 3/12". I have called this out to Home Depot for the last year, have checked several HD locations and no one seems to give a damn. I've even spoken to dept mgrs who just shrug. So, I've moved on and found what I need at a Garland lumber yard. read more

Went into the Coit Rd. Store to purchase floor tile for a bathroom project on March 26th. Of course, on a Saturday everyone else in the area was there too. Although there probably was enough tile on the floor to do my project, I really wanted to get all the same lot #. I went over to the desk and asked two men to check the stock. Loren and Kenny found the extra stock pallet and they both immediately took off to get the pallet. They brought it to the aisle and were helpful to cut away the plastic so that I could get 16 boxes off the new pallet. In the past, and even that day, I expected it to be similar to pulling teeth to get that type of help, but again Kenny and Loren were FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!! I hope this is shared with them. read more

Takes forever to get helped every single time I go, it does not matter what department. When picking a custom order it took about 25 minutes for someone to finally assist us. The employee that placed the order was completely clueless and told me several things that were wrong. Do NOT order anything by way of special order. We ordered our French doors and another door along with a awning picture window for our kitchen remodel. We call this a saga because it's still going on after 2 months. The wrong door was delivered. The window that cost us over $700 bucks was installed and the first attempt at that install we waited all day, after taking the day off, and they never came! We got a voicemail the next day apologizing that 'our window' did not make their truck. The next week when the window actually installed it was done extremely half ass you could still see outside they did such a poor caulking job. The window itself looked sloppy and quickly put together. We called. A week went by nothing. Called again. Got the number of someone named Steve. Called Steve..left voicemail. Couple days nothing. Finally Steve comes out and looks at our window said, 'what that?' Totally minimizing our complaint and the poor workmanship of the window. The sales people at the store saw the pics of window and agreed. And this guy 'the head window guy' minimizes our concerns? Poor poor excuse for a supervisor. So we had another guy come out and he was nice and agreed our window was poorly put together. And said he would order another and install it himself. The next day, Steve, calls back and says, 'we are going to takour window and give you a refund. If we order another one it's gonna look the same. So go find another window somewhere else.' WTF. I'll say it again, WTF. So all the while our kitchen renovation is held up because now instead of making this right we are tasked with finding another window...from somewhere else? And now we check on our door that was ordered almost 2 months ago and told it will be here in within a week...and checked on it today (the week is up). And told another 2 weeks... if I had papers I would thrown them in the air. Only light to this is the amazing customer service we get from James and Carolyn at the window/door desk. It's out of their hands. They did their jobs. It's the business after the order that is completely ridiculous. We have spent over $40k at this store. We are done. We may be small potatoes to a giant like The Home Depot but hopefully this give another small potato like us the knowledge before they go down the road we did and go to another company...that still cares about its product and customer service. 10/9-We were assured today we would hear back about our missing door and not surprising. I went to Home Depot on Coit in Richardson, Texas yesterday for curbside pickup. First of all, it is not curbside, you must enter the store and wait. Not one of the employees that were at checkout stations were wearing gloves nor were they sanitizing their hands after each customer. The cashiers were handling all kinds of returns from many customers. Not one precaution was taken. They were handing the pen to sign for returns or items received without sanitizing it. The Home Depot commercials suggest quite a different experience. I would advise anyone who takes social distancing and hand washing seriously to stay out of that store. read more

One of the better Home Depots in the Dallas area. It's in a good area right between Richardson, Plano and North Dallas and I've never seen any sketchy characters in the parking lot or in the store. The service here is a notch above most Home Depots but don't expect too much help from the orange guys. My batting average is about .237, so if you need anything you're going to have to ask 4-5 different workers. They also have a good selection of flatbed trucks and larger Penske moving vehicles to rent by the hour or day. read more

Just want to take a second and give a VERY big thank you to Noble for helping us locate our dream rocking chairs! My Fiancé and I had been on the search for a pair of rocking chairs to put on our balcony for at least a year now. On a last minute search after running errands I saw that this specific Home Depot had a pair of chairs that we wanted. So, we go we look and we only see a lighter pair. We came across a nice man named Noble to help us locate this specific color rocking chair, he looked in his system and saw that he had 10 in stock. Unfortunately, it did not give the location on where they were. He let us know that he will go look for them but it might be about 5/10 minutes. So we sat down and waited, and waited, and waited for approximately 45 minutes. Which I know what you're thinking, why would we wait 45 minutes but let me tell you, we have wanted these chairs for so long that we were 100% OK with waiting. Well after waiting that long I ended up trying to locate another associate to see if he could locate noble. I did find another associate and he was able to locate noble, unknowingly they still had not found the chairs. Which was ultimately due to a mislabeling on their end so it would not populate a specific location of them in the store. By around the hour mark my fiancé and I decided that maybe we will come back another day because we just couldn't keep waiting. The second associate that I had found did an amazing job by putting in an email to go to the managers and whoever else to be on the lookout to find these chairs. By this point we got home and around an hour and a half later I get a call from an associate at Home Depot telling me that they found the chairs! They asked if I wanted to pay over the phone so that they would reserve them by a customer service and all we had to do was come pick it up and leave. As well as giving us $50 off due to the time that we had waited in store. We cannot believe the customer service we received today and how amazing their staff was to accommodate what we wanted. They could have easily told us to come back another day to see if they got put out but instead they went above and beyond and it was not overlooked. Noble, thank you so much for your diligent search! The staff is super knowledgeable and I have no idea how they know where everything is in the store. If you have a special home project, there's a really good chance that you'll be able to get a staff member to help you find anything you need, and I always leave with the materials I needed. I'm a big fan of their gardening staff as they're always super helpful. If you buy bulky items, they're always willing to help you load your items. Looking for certain dimensions of wood? They'll cut it for you! All around, for any project, go to Home Depot. Nothing beats the service at Home Depot or that signature Home Depot smell. Trust me, you know what aim talking about. I have a chronic medical condition. I go thru weeks of pain and wanting to do nothing but sleep. But every once in a while I have a day or two where I feel really good and I get very ambitious on those days. Last month I had a streak of 3 days where I felt really good. I rearranged the furniture in my office to make everything flow better. When I was done I realized I had a 10 inch gap between the edge of my computer desk and the tower of file cabinets. I needed every inch of that gap to make the top of my desk look less cluttered. I knew I'd never find a table to fit that small of a gap and be the correct height, so, off I went to Home Depot. I found an employee back in the lumber section and explained to him what I needed. He found the perfect piece of wood, cut the pieces I needed to make the table. He then took me to find the perfect screws, the wood glue and helped me find the correct type of spray paint for the project. He was by far the most helpful employee I have ever encountered at Home Depot. The next time I have a "feel good day", I'm going to go find him and let him help me get everything I need to build a book case for my all of cookbooks. read more

I've given this Home Depot 2 stars: both stars are for the store's aesthetic value only. The service and helpfulness of the staff gets a -2 stars. I just moved to the area 6 months ago and each time I've come to this Home Depot, no one is willing to help. The garden section is absolutely notorious for this. The staff will point at a general area and tell you something is there without understanding what exactly you need or walking you over to the product. When you can't find it there, that person is long gone. Good luck finding anyone else to help. The sad thing is they've got really great stuff. But in this day and age of YouTubing and DIY'ing everything, customers need info, not just tools alone. We're not all experienced contractors. I started driving to the Lowe's on Preston and 190 for good service rather than making the short walk to this Home Depot. Such a waste of space. read more

Whatever you do don't use this Home Depot for bathroom remolding. My very good friend who isn't American born went to them to have a couple of things done to her bathroom. First off they send out independent contractors .These people don't work for Home Depot. They said it would take 10 days tops. One month later they still weren't finished. The guy they sent out would leave early and then he just didn't show up. After multiple calls to Home Depot with no response my friends son had to get involved. Finally 40 days later and at a charge over $8,000 their bathroom was finished. My friend had to hire a private contractor to finish the half ass job done by Home Depot. So if you have any friends or family that might be taken advantage of because of a language barrier or because they're older don't send them to this Home Depot. read more

Even though we live closer to another location, we go out of our way to drive to this Home Depot because of the service and products available. This is one of the best Home Depots that I've been to. Everyone is always extremely knowledgeable and more than willing to go above and beyond the level of customer service you would normally expect at a big box store. The tool rental counter at this location is also fantastic, swift, and well stocked. We use it for every major project we undertake at our house. 10/10 read more

I really like this location. It's very conveniently located, they have no issues with returns or exchanges, and is my number one stop when I'm working on a home/work project. I can't help it - I love Home Depot! I find myself at this location a lot and get great service. They have someone at the door to point me in the right direction, which today was keys - many many keys. The greeter actually asked me if I was all right which startled me ( I mean, I was tired and not wearing makeup but still) until I remembered I had six stitches in my forehead from a fall last week. He sent me right to the key guy and I got about ten keys made. They had the coolest keys. I got a Sock Monkey key for home, a polka dot key, a zebra stripe key - no more fumbling trying keys until you find the right one. He was patient, too, since I was acting like a ten year old. I've gotten a butane torch there (for crime brûlée), various poisons and killers, and now Sock Monkey keys. And they noticed I busted my head open. Good service! read more

NEVER go to the Home Depot flooring department in Richardson, TX. I ordered carpet for 2 rooms in my house and they came out and installed it. AFTER the install was complete the workman showed me a flaw running down the middle of the carpet. He said he would send an inspector out to look at it. Inspector came, yep, it was a flaw. He would tell Home Depot to call me. Kathy called twice, left a message and I started calling her back. Left 5 messages in the course of 5 days. Finally got someone else who promised she would have Kathy call me back. She didn't. I finally got in touch of Kathy on Friday afternoon. She made all sorts of excuses as to why she hadn't called. I don't care - what are we going to do about the flaw? They will replace the carpet after I move all the stuff out of the room again -- it has been 6 weeks since the install. I suggest that they give me a deal on the carpet for the other room and I keep the one with the flaw -- OH NO - the ONLY solution is to rip it all out and replace. You can talk to any other manager and that's the only thing they can do. Lowe's on Forest and Inwood has MUCH better service. That's where I will buy the carpet for my next 2 rooms. read more
