I never got a solid plan, they hard-sold me high, promising we would reduce it, just to make me sign the contract. (my first mistake) Of course, those meetings to discuss my priorities and reduce the budget, never came. My dream wasn't realized as they either vetoed, forgot or bumbled each feature of my design. Examples: I have a wavy wall, it took them days to correct the paint throughout the house, they flat refused to match my craftsman trim, they forgot my vented kitchen hood, vetoed my transom (they don't even know what that is), failed plumbing inspection three times and nearly blew up my house. (I'm not embellishing) Had to install the cabinets twice (ordered incorrectly and hung at the wrong height), the rough plumbing is so poorly done that the knobs don't sit right and turn lop-sided; failed to contain the renovation dust which covered even stuff inside cabinets and drawers throughout the house. The cleaning crew came multiple times and I still had to hire my own at a cost of $360, to get all the ceiling fans, fixtures, floors, etc. finally clear of dust and paint splatters. They scratched my hardwoods and damaged my stove. To top it off, they stopped paying the subs and one of them put a lien on my house, EVEN though, i was up to date on my payment arrangement. (Yes, that's totally legal, for some reason!) The drama continues as I need help correcting some issues that i don't feel I should have to live with. For shockingly low prices I got furry dust mop, wet mop, giant gallon of cleaning disinfectant (with a lovely smell), wood floor cleaner, robust spray bottles, and magic grime to attack impossible surfaces like porcelain. If you ever dump anything fun into porcelain sinks they stain so ugly. Thank you life for lottery selecting me to be the janitor in a factory when the union struck. Not only did I learn how to clean the nastiest of the nasty, I learned how to do it fast, just how good pristine cleaning products should smell, and now when I watch movies such as the Breakfast Club, I no longer resonate with brats, but identity with Carl, the janitor. Why a guy! Staff here is really fun.
