I walked into this store totally overwhelmed by all the tiles to choose from. I had to make a decision TODAY because the contractors are coming in the morning. ADRIA walked past me and asked if I was ok and I said NOOOO. She asked me a few questions and walked me right over to the perfect tile for my home!!!! She was absolutely awesome, patient, and basically God sent because I was ready to give up. She calculated how much tile I needed and I was at the register in a matter of minutes. I hope she gets some kind of recognition for her professionalism and kind tone. I REALLY appreciated her and whatever worried look I had on my face that prompt her to ask me if I needed help. The Tale of Two Stores It was the best of stores, it was the worst of stores. The Dallas, Texas store was the epoch of belief, of Light and the spring of hope. The Mesquite, Texas store was the epoch of incredulity, the season of Darkness and the winter of despair. My wife and I walk through the Dallas store and are happily asked by store associates if they may help. My wife and I walk through the Mesquite store attempting to track down an employee for assistance only to be ignored and treated as a bother. I ordered tile from the Dallas store through the web site and the order was pulled within 24 hours. I ordered tile from the Mesquite store through the web site and had to call for a status and am told to come only to have to wait for 2 hours in the Mesquite parking lot for my truck to be loaded. I have experienced the Mesquite store several times in the recent months. I was forced to order Lagos Blue Matte Porcelain Tile from the Mesquite store.  I literally looked at every, and I mean every, Floor and Decor store in the Dallas/Fort Worth area for this tile just to avoid dealing with the Mesquite store. I understood the labor pool surrounding the Mesquite store is a bit limited and finding quality employees is challenging.  Over the last 3 years, I've spent approximately $11,500 at Floor and Decor.  Honestly, if given a choice of returning to the Mesquite Floor and Decor or finding another vendor, I will choose another vendor. Customer service is not their strong suit for sure. The first time we were here we were asked multiple times if we needed help. The second time we were asked to wait by employees who were hanging around talking about Halloween. We ended up leaving. The third time I came and can't find anyone on the sales floor. They were having a meeting on the floor. They really need to hire more cashiers as the line was long. Finally opened another register but that cashier was constantly helping the other one. Had Angel's help loading a heavy piece of Carrera into my van. He was very helpful and nice. Cashier was friendly as well. They have a lot of choices and utilizing their free design service was helpful. Our designer was sweet and found us something my husband and I could agree on. If you want to get in and out, I wouldn't recommend coming here but if you have the time to browse, wait for help and stand in long lines then this place is great. read more

We made an online order and the first time we went to pick it up, the man 2 people in front of us said he had been waiting for over an hour. So since we had time we decided to come back a different day. I called at 8 am the day we intended to pick it up to let them know we would be by at noon and couldn't wait long as we were driving to the job site 2 hours away. The customer service person said she would have them pull it so it would be ready to load. The items were not pulled and we have been now waiting for more than 30 minutes. The poor man in front of us has been waiting more than an hour. Do not use this Floor and Decor location. read more

We went in on a Friday to get some floating laminated flooring and they did not have enough to fill our order. The salesperson told us it would be in by the next Friday or Sat at the latest. I called on Sat and it was not in and had not even left Houston. I was not happy. Sonia, the warehouse ops manager sent out an sos to other stores and got us taken care of. Some of the worst customer service on the planet. I'm beginning to wish we didn't even make a purchase here. Went and asked for help to load tile onto the cart. Husband has a broken back. Waited and waited. No help. Took it upon ourselves to get it on the cart. At checkout the cashier did not even greet us. Asked if we could get help loading into car. Once again waited. No one. We again loaded over 50 lb boxes ourselves. I can say they won't receive our business anymore and we won't recommend them to others. read more

I went to Floor and Decor in Plano looking for a certain tile. It was sold out in Plano. Mesquite showed that they had it in stock. We called the mesquite location and were left on hold for 35 minutes before I got fed up and left. I called the mesquite location myself to let them know how I felt about the customer service but couldn't get through to them (twice) I still need the tile but doubt I will go through floor and decor. Very frustrating because I need the tile ASAP. read more

Stopped in to pick up some tile for shower and bathroom floor. After walking around for few min i stopped young man to help me. I'm sorry to say but I cant remember his name. anyway this kid was perfect, because I was totally lost in this store. If you have ever walked around it daunting to say the least. And if your color blind like me putting color together is a nightmare. My wife was out of town and I wanted to make this shower done and over with before she returned, so time was of the essence. This kid was Johnny on the spot, in less than hour we had all the shower wall tile, shower pan, floor tile,grout chosen and ready to pay. I had been told stay away from this place because you had to pick everything and then load on dolly then load up on your truck. Well Not with this kid. Anyway this was a great experience and if I can find this kids number I will come back and put it in. Give this kid raise! First of all, the good, the installers provided by Installations Made Easy, Rodrigo and his brother were perfectionists and did a great job. If I had to do it again, I'd find them and cut out all the other nuckle heads. I give them two stars only because the service could have been worse. We chose the flooring tile and worked with Installations made Easy who was recommended as an installer by the store. Installations Made Easy Has you pay 1/2 up front and they send you a "shopping list" put together by the estimator Juan. Not sure if his estimate was off or what but we got too much product, too little product, wrong product. I had to make three additional visits to the store to straighten this out. On the first time I returned, I had the in store customer service rep, who fills the shopping list talk directly to Installations Made Easy Juan and Juan went and got the correct grout with me and we were still 4 tubs short which I had to go back and get the following day. When I pointed this out to the in store customer service gal, she had the nerve to become angry that I was pointing this out. She'd say "not my fault". Nothing worse then not taking responsibility. Juan just stood there. When the job was finished, I returned with 4 bags of cement, one accelerator, 40 planks of flooring (even after the in store lady told me to buy more which I didn't). Contributing to this I believe is the shopping list is open to interpretation because it's all based on square feet. Would be better and less prone to error if it explicitly said, six bags of this, ten tubs of this, etc. something that represents what the receipt would say at checkout. Quite frankly, I'll use Rodrigo and his brother again but not Floor and Decor or Installations Made Easy read more

Was shopping for flooring and all the sales people were extremely helpful. We picked one closeout bundle and 15 boxes of Pergo. Paid for our purchase and went in the back to have it loaded, we were the only ones in the parking lot, it took 40 minutes for them to bring it to the truck! Poor warehouse personnel. I had been hunting down a specific marble mosaic, Sonya confirmed they had it and helped me feel less stressed by informing me I could order online and just pick it up in the next 14 days as opposed to putting it on hold and having to get there by end of day. My husband wanted to know if there was a matching trim piece, so Sonya looked up the 'family' pieces in her system, had it pulled, made a sample of both pieces together and then texted me a picture to look at. First and most importantly this is my second complaint in a week (Ref-365613) . As a contractor we tend to use big box stores , such as Floor and Decor based on service , product availability, location and pricing . Unfortunately this past week , the service provided by I'm guessing Pro Service Expert (Brandon) has been below expectation. He has major attitude and needs to get trained on what customer service really looks like. And it's the main reason I rank this store one star. They are a few good points to point out ..Sales Associate Ty was very friendly and was aware of your procedures in regards to VIP form, quickly called it in. The down side , here comes Brandon with his smirk and started retaliating for Monday's incident.. to a point where it made me feel like I was gettting confronted .. as Brandon said Whatever! Whatever!! Whatever dude .. Ty was shocked for his behavior and didn't understand what was going on .. At this point I just ignored him and decided to look for M.O.D - Holland . I address the issue again, but will see what type of action or development will be used to correct Brandon's Performance. Moving on , I will have to try and utilized other avenues or providers to fulfill my Tile /flooring needs. On Saturday we went to purchase 2000sqft of tile that we had been planning for months. We went to walk down the 1st aisle and an employee on a forklift named Reggie, hollered at me that the aisle was closed. Employees were talking with their back to customers. We left, we will take our business elsewhere. We tried to call the store after we left for over 15 minutes and the phone rang off the wall. I'm so disappointed with floor and decor mesquite. I bought 1500.00 worth of flooring from the manager salesman that sold me specialty flooring that had to be ordered but never told me that I had to special order the the trimming because they don't carry them in the store, this is my first time replacing my flooring so I had no clue. Now I have incomplete flooring because I have to special order the trimming. All the salesman had to do was advise me that I needed to order the trimming as well and I would have done so at the time I purchased the floors, I feel if you selling something you should atleast offer the accessories needed to complete your project and leave it up to the customer to decline and that didn't happen. I will not be going back there, I would rather go to Home Depot or Loews who atleast try to sell you everything needed at the time of purchase to complete your project. read more

From the other reviews I've read for multiple locations, it isn't product that causes the biggest concern or problem, it's employee issues. We had a large job that this store pulled wrong floor and shower tile for our home. And it was installed before we knew of the error. The installed product had to be ripped out and started new. Even some of the correct trim pieces (decor) were still not pulled correctly on the second try. This ordeal delays our move back home by several weeks. A simple order check by a third person could have avoided this costly mistake. read more

Unhelpful and least friendliest people at any Floor and Decor location in the metro. I went in to buy to tile and it took more than twenty minutes for anyone to come and help even though I flagged down a couple of people on my own. Then the tile I chose was priced than at other locations and when i asked why I was told pricing is location specific, so the same exact tile with the same exact sku can be priced different depending on the store without being able to price match. Finally, I decided that the tile was not what I want and they refused to refund over the phone so I have to make yet another trip across town. Thanks! read more

I bought $3,000 in tile and usually but through them but this will be my last purchase. I paid on the 27th and went to pick up today and was told it shows I picked up my order at time of purchase. I think I would remember if I loaded 800 ft of tile yesterday, I replied jokingly. He was serious and said well maybe someone else did, kind of like it's not my problem and told me to wait. Instead of going to check their stock to see if they were off, I waited for over an hr and still didn't get my order while the managers "sorted" it out". This place has the BEST customer service, anywhere, hands down. I have been there on two different occasions and bought tile. Before that I went several times to browse. The staff there TRULY wants to help you. They ask if you need any help and they go out of their way to help you with whatever you ask. If there isn't enough of the tile that you need on the shelf they will happily go and find more in the back room. They are extremely polite, friendly and professional. It is evident that they enjoy working at this store... it really shows. A shout out to Omari and Juan. I was so impressed with these two guys that I can tell you without a doubt that if I owned my own company I would be poaching them away from F&D!
