Plus my sewer line had completely collapsed so there was no way that he ran a camera down otherwise he would've seen that the line was collapsed and had roots growing it it. He wouldn't have been able to run the camera line all the way down it because it was collapsed right after it comes out of my house. He said the entire drain line was fine! The other issue he was supposed to fix was a problem Under my kitchen sink- under the house and with the clean out to the side of the house. The clean out was inaccessible bc it was painted over so many times by past owner. So he was supposed to fix the plumbing problem under the sink and replace the clean out as well. Well, he put a new clean out in but he did such a terrible job That the glue or mortar that he used completely sealed up the clean out and it couldn't be accessed. My new plumber had to fix that. He also tried to charge me way more than his quote, and when he gave me the bill, he was charging me for time that he wasn't even here when he and his guys took a lunch break and other time as well that they were not even present at my home. Then Alex threatened me in my home when I asked about the incorrect billing. He demanded I pay him the exact amount he wanted from me right then without any itemized bill at all. He told me if he gave me an itemized bill he was going to charge me even more. He told me if I didn't pay him right then and without an itemized bill, he would go under my house, and rip out all of my plumbing lines. I got him out of my house first and then stood my ground on needing an itemized written bill. I don't know how Alex came to me recommended or how he has so many good reviews. I had another plumber out because I was still having issues and I have all sorts of pictures that show he lied and did not do what he was supposed to. To make matters worse, they claimed they were completely unable to open the water meter cover, insisting that I would have to call the city to handle it. They even went as far as to claim they had tried everything, including prying it open with a crowbar. However, shortly after they left, my son arrived home, walked out to the meter, and opened it by hand with absolutely no effort. I decided to check my home security cameras, and the footage confirmed that they never even attempted to open the meter as they had claimed. It really felt like they simply didn't want to perform the work they had committed to, so they made up excuses to avoid it. I ended up hiring another plumbing company the very next day, and they were able to complete the entire project--including the additional pipe work and even cutting into the wall--for a total of just $400. The second company was transparent, efficient, and professional. David, a Master Plumber, came to my condo to give me a quote. He then came back the next day with an apprentice to install the toilet and flush the water heater. David answered all of my questions. He and his apprentice installed the toilets. The job was an A+. Here are some of the details: * Plumbing is a high-stakes job in a mid-rise condo such as mine. One leak could destroy multiple floors beneath. * My HOA requires proof of insurance that covers multi-family. AAA Auger had that proof, which is how they got on our approved list of contractors. * David has 40 years of plumbing experience, so he was well prepared to manage the complexities of working in my mid-rise condo. * AAA Auger sent a text message before the visit with a picture of David and his bio. I think that's a nice way to introduce a technician before they arrive. * David easily found the building and parked in the loading dock. I didn't have to call him once before he arrived. What a relief - sometimes this can be hard to explain how to get here. * Along with the new toilets, I purchased an artificial wax ring and some new hoses. David evaluated those, but given the placement of the toilets against the tile, recommended a different wax ring and different hoses. He had the recommended products in his truck. I trusted his judgment and went with his products. * After installing the toilets, David flushed my water heater. * I've gotten my water heater flushed by other plumbers each year for the past three years. Each time, it takes the plumber only 15 minutes. David took 30+ minutes to drain the water heater. I asked why, and he showed me that's how long it *actually* takes to drain all the way. In other words, the previous plumbers were cutting corners and not draining the water heater all the way. * After flushing the water heater, David checked the toilets and found a few drips under the new hoses. He discovered the hoses had a manufacturing defect and replaced the hoses again during the same visit. HIS PROACTIVE APPROACH SAVED ME FROM HAVING TO CALL HIM OUT AGAIN. * The next day, the dispatcher from AAA Auger called me to follow up and see if I had any questions. I told them everything was perfect. * I'm writing this review a week after my service call, and the toilets are working perfectly. There's no leaks on the hoses. The water heater is performing well. * I'm very happy with the service I received from AAA Auger. I would recommend them. * 1 big thing - I paid a pretty penny for the service.
