I bought my granite here for my New house in July. They get…read moretwo stars instead of 1 because the rest of the house granite looks good. I believe they installed stained granite, and won't admit it or offer a believable explanation. There is clearly an orange stain at the sink. The rest of the granite does not have this stain anywhere else. When I let them know, they told me it was supposed to be like that. And they offered no other response, not more pictures of it elsewhere, not a name of the granite, nothing. Make sure you look over each piece carefully before installing. The stain is along the side of the sink. It wouldn't be so bad except the granite is white and grey, so I'll have to look at this the rest of my life thanks to this place.

As they were bringing the piece into the house, I noticed that the cut had no tan specs appearing anywhere. Upon calling, my customer service contact immediately, I was informed there was a hair line crack (in transit) and they had to cut with the area that was good. The piece was now done with no phone call of the issue, they offered no compensation on the cost. Was told that they could return it and I could pick something else out. All it took was a simple phone call to alert the customer to the issue. Instead, they came, made the cut and I had to make the phone call about the issue. Not GOOD BUSINESS PRACTICE in any shape or form. Be extremely careful, get everything in writing and go over it twice and check the stone before they make a single cut or you will end up like me with a piece you didn't order. The men who delivered the stone were the professional in the case.

There were at least 5 aesthetic things they did incorrectly, but they took so long to complete the job that I just wanted them out of my house. About 3 weeks later, all of the issues started coming to light. We called about the post-completion issues, and were told to "call licensed professionals about it." Which was interesting, because we were under the impression we had hired licensed professionals when we hired them to do the work. Buyer beware.

A gap in the Flooring in front of the toilet, the base board cut too long and the bathroom vanity does not butt against the wall, and a mark (maybe a scratch) where the fridge was moved where putting things back together. I promptly paid and Shawn, the Frisco store manager, continues to promise to come by and make these few quick fixes but never follows through. I've emailed the owner, Sharif Asad, and got no response. What's more frustrating is the fact that I got their information from the KRLD Consumer Team. I have even reached out to them to no avail. The Flooring was installed in my mom's house, after she was taken advantage of by another contractor who took ALL her money and did only half the work. I paid to have the flooring redone since the loose laminate flooring was unsafe for my 76 year old mother.

When we did our home remodel one of our contractors suggested Seconds and Surplus for some of our…read moreproducts, which we regret getting because everything we bought, which was a farmhouse kitchen sink, a faucet with a pull down sprayer and a Craftsman front door ended up not worth it. Don't get me wrong, everything looks good, but the quality and craftsmanship of each product is low grade. We had to replace the faucet because the sprayer stopped working. We got a Kohler instead and couldn't be happier. Our farmhouse sink just doesn't drain properly. There isn't enough slope from the 4 corners of the sink to drain downwards towards the drain. You have to use your hand to move any food towards the drain. The Craftsman door though looks beautiful is poor insulated which cheap weather strips, not a tight seal. Here's the bottom line, if you want save a few bucks I guess, and don't care about quality, just looks, then this place is for you and for house flippers who put the cheap stuff in their homes when they rent them or sell them.

As for me, when dealing with the associates at Seconds & Surplus every interaction was professional and pleasant. My husband and I recently completed the build of our new home and purchased several items from Seconds & Surplus. We purchased two double iron doors, tile for our guest home, and the handles for both doors etc. After installation I had a few concerns and reached out, an associate answered the phone and said the manager was on break, but they would forward those concerns to him so that he could call me back. Honestly, I was going to hold my breath as it usually would take several days to get a call back when calling a business about a concern however when calling Seconds and Surplus the manager, Cordell called me within a few hours. He took the time to listen to my concerns and showed a genuine interest in what I had to say. He asked that he reach out later in the week as he needed to find out what he could do for me. He promptly reached out a few days later with a resolution to my issues. Shortly after speaking to him Mr. Williams, the Regional Vice President reached out via email. He was very professional and even took the time to send me some links on one of the rare concerns I had. I was very shocked and pleased that someone in his position took the time to not only apologize for those few minor concerns but take a moment out of his day to make sure they were all taken care of. Thank you both for making my experience with my purchases and concerns pleasant interactions. Sincerely, Dinah Black "Happy Customer"
