Beautiful plants and knowledgeable helpful staff. I love going to Covington's. It is a happy place.

We've shopped here for years and spent a lot of money at this store over that time, but after this experience, we won't be back. On 7/4/26, a staff member was sitting in the cooler handing out water bottles -- 1-2 each -- to select customers, but skipped over us entirely. When we finally got inside, she asked how we were doing. My 80-year-old mother mentioned it was hot, and the employee replied, "Is it that hot since you're out?" -- dismissive, especially right after handing out water to other customers and not us. It felt like the staff cater to a certain type of customer, and we didn't fit that mold. Very disappointing and disheartening after being loyal customers for so long especially on July 4th. read more

For perspective: I have been gardening since I was probably 6 years old and even owned a landscape company many years ago. I am that guy who even when i am out of town, I go to local nurseries to see what types of plants are popular in those areas. I only say that to make the point I have been to a lot of nurseries in my day. Covington's is one of the best nurseries I have been to. They have an amazing selection of plants and all of their plants are very healthy and ready for their new homes! Even their half-price greenhouse plants looked great! Their prices were comparable to other local nurseries but selection and service is what Covington's rocks on. I was asked everytime I went to a new section if I needed any assistance. These folks were amazing and I can't wait to come back, even though this place is nowhere near my home! read more

I can't say enough good things about Covington's Landscape. Last year I checked my entire sub division and found one house that was the absolute best and found out that the yard was done by Covington's. I called and had the good luck to get Tracey Lively as my consultant/designer. Tracey and her crew did a wonderful job of re-doing my landscaping and also gave me great information on how to maintain it. Her followup was just this last week and they made a good thing even better. I want to compliment Tracey and her crew, Hector, Eric and Adan who all were professional and hard working. Very wonderful place to buy plants! We bought a dwarf magnolia tree and a rose bush that are both in wonderful condition. The warranty for their plants is like a year or so which is amazing. The selection is killer! This is literally my favorite place to go when spring rolls around. Always very attentive staff as well. When we were picking out a tree for our front yard (the magnolia) a gentleman working outside spent so much time with us and made sure that we made the right decision for a tree. read more

The customer service, plant quality, delivery and every aspect has been timely, professional and a great value. A Landscaper on my job was amazed at the plant size, quality and colors of my plants. Maria in retail worked with me on a very large order and as many of you know, customer service is unheard of these days, not at Covington's! You can call and email and you will get a competent, logical, fair response quickly. Delivery was excellent, this poor guy took 3 hours to unload the truck and did it organized with care. I waited to post a review until I saw how my plants fared. They are all thriving. The location is more convenient than I thought at first, and it's huge! Wonderful experience flower shopping for our new home this morning. The staff went above and beyond to answer questions I had about which flowers to plant during the colder season and just general planting info. Deborah went as far as to walk us through the herbs section and didn't try to upswell once. This might be the best nursery in the DFW area. We recently needed a few birch trees to expand our landscape. I called several places around town, and very few had them in stock. Even though it was 20 miles away, we decided to make the trip to Covington's. Wow! This will be our go-to nursery. First, they have incredible service. Their employees wear yellow shirts and are highly visible and incredibly helpful. We were escorted via golf cart by a very knowledgeable employee to the area where the birch trees were kept. They had a large selection and we picked three of them, which were quickly taken to our car and secured for transport. They had all of the other materials we needed to plant the trees. My wife also bought several flats of flowers, and the selection there was fantastic. It is clear that Covington's tries to provide a great experience for their customers. Well can I say they took my yard from drab to fab in 1 day! I had a unique situation and definitely had to work with the design team. While they book out far in advance it was well worth the wait. Cindy helped me design my back flower bed around the pool. She worked with me every step of the way to ensure that all of my plants that were selected would be perfect for the amount of sunlight they would get. We had LARGE palms installed. So large that they had to actually take down my fence to get them in my yard. The install team was super professional. I highly recommend them for any type of design, install and purchase of quality plants. read more

Great selection of pepper plants. This location was recommended by a friend. It is easy to get to, although the road in front of it is pretty narrow. Parking can be a challenge. 12 acres of plants, shrubs and trees! They also carry lots of soil, shale and compost. There are so many nice things to say about this nursery. I love that they list/ keep updated their plant inventory on the website. The website shows the current sales and quantity. It also shows what are in Joe's 1/2 price house. If you have the opportunity to run across the Joe, he is super knowledgeable and friendly. 98% of the employees are over the top nice and helpful. They have a huge side walk sale in August. It is also posted on the website a week or two in advance. Despite the size of this nursery, they are not the cheapest. Being in the Garden Club will save you 10% read more

Our backyard was a combination of crushed stone parking lot, greenhouse, tool shed and raised beds--all separated by fencing. Steve Malone from Covington's designed a breathtaking yard--part xeriscape, part grass with an astonishing waterfall and rivers of river rock flowing throughout. A tree, several bushes and vines, and perennial plants are strategically placed to enhance the beauty. Watering and drainage systems were added, plus a stock tank pool was added. All plantings have beautifully emerged this Spring. We love spending time in this lovely park-like setting. read more

We used Covingtons years ago to design landscaping around the pool and loved them. So, of course we called them again to help with our yard. Paid $175 for the initial consultation. It was such a horrible experience. The lady that came to the house was one of the rudest people I have ever met. Needless to say I will not be using Covington's this time around. It was so annoying my husband called them to see why if they do return or exchanges. They said no. I couldn't believe it because our mums died. We just wanted a new ones. But the person on the phone said all sales are final. They need to emphasize that when you go there. Big companies like Home Depot they would let us return our flowers that died and we got new ones. I wish all places is like Home Depot. We will never recommend this place to our family or friends. We spent a lot of money. read more

One of my favorite little spots to stop by and check out some beautiful plants and smell the fragrant flowers. I love taking my parrot in and shop around for all sorts of plants and garden items. There is an indoor area that has houseplants of all sorts of varieties and decor items as well. Outside stretches forever. So many flowering plants, cacti, trees and so much more. All their plants I have purchased have been very healthy and vibrant. The staff are knowledgeable, helpful and so friendly. We look forward to many more visits to check out all the plants! read more

Covington's is staffed by professionals who truly understand our unique soil and climate conditions. Had a great experience at this nursery. I have driven by a few times and finally decided to head in. It is MUCH bigger than it appears. There are a few different sections and parking available at the front building as well as a lot between the buildings. I found great prices and a wide variety. For example a bush that I paid $90 at another nursery, was normally $30 at Covington's and on sale for $15. The staff was all very friendly. Their rewards program isn't very good. You have to spend quite a bit in a short time and save your receipts to prove it. This won't deter me from going back, I just won't bother with their rewards program. read more
