I bought 2 tomato plants for under $4.00. I planted them when I got home, and 2 weeks later they measured close to just under 5 ft. tall. I just counted 79 actual tomatoes on the 2 plants. Albeit some were tiny but I could see where the many tiny blooms had each been pollinated into a tomato. I have been growing tomatoes almost every year, but this has been the most I've ever been this excited about doing so. This after asking numerous questions and taking advice from their knowledgeable staff. Even Steve himself answered 2 questions on the phone with me. He was right on the money as well. I can't say enough good about this nursery. I also bought my wife a beautiful flowering plant that she fell in love with after seeing it. It is worth the 1 hour drive from my house in Garland. Don't let the construction traffic patterns on 34 deter you, Steve's Nursery IS OPEN! Wonderful plant nursery in Cash. My family's gone to Steve's nursery for decades for their plant needs. I have many happy memories of stopping by here for a something or other with my folks and them letting me pick up a plant while they got a rose bush/fruit tree/yard plant. Always Great service and knowledge of the plants for your needs and soil/growing conditions. Reasonable prices! Their plants are healthy and SURVIVE which is more than you can say for a lot of the sad, scrawny plants from the giant box stores. Not the biggest nursery in Hunt country but one of the best. All plants we have bought here are hardy and grow. Unlike the competition they last. Seeds here come up and make healthy plants the fruit on a is good. Steve is generally here to help with advice. He can supply free info when others cannot. The inventory is regularly moved out. If you something you like best to purchase it because it may not be there when you come back. Unlike big commercial stores most things are very healthy. We make several visit a year to buy vegetables, seeds and things for the yard. Give them a try you will not regret it. Of highway 34 south of Greenville Texas. read more

Excellent prices and selection! Cheap fruit trees! 4 foot tall pear and peach trees for $17. They were dormant and so they looked like huge twigs sitting in sawdust, but supposedly you can plant them and they will grow leaves and fruits. They also had fig trees and many others trees in pots, but not citrus trees.. so you won't find meyer lemon trees here. They had a decent selection of vegetable and herb plants too. I bought 26 baby bushes here (dwarf yaupon holly). I needed them to line the front of my fence. They were $9 for 1 gallon size. I also got two in the 5 gallon size for $18 each. And cotton burr compost was $12 each for 3 cu. They gave me 15% discount on the plants. I also bought a gorgeous & large Utamaro flowering quince plant on a whim for $30, and a tarp for $7. I got the tarp since I had a long drive and needed my plants to make it home. The flowering quince was large enough to fit in my front seat by itself. The last place I went to for plants was in Dallas on Lover's lane. I can't remember the name of the place, but it sounds like Harvey Nic's. Everything there was at least 3 to 4 times more expensive than at Steve's Nursery, but then again you won't have to drive far to get plants there. But I'm on a budget and so I prefer Steve's. The people at Steve's were super nice and very helpful. They took their time to show me around and give me care instructions and advice on which plants were best for my needs. They then loaded up my truck and covered the plants with the tarp and helped me install my truck webbing to keep everything in place. It was a long drive for me. I got their address off google and they were in Greenville Tx. 1 hour and 10 minutes each way from Dallas, but my plants made it home looking great! I will definitely be back for more plants! read more

Was recommended to Steve's by a long time resident of Greenville. So glad I stopped in for bare root fruit trees in February. They are gorgeous in just a month in the ground. So much better than any big box item. Just went back for landscape plants Steve is a great resource! Polite helpful people and fabulous plants. read more

Incredibly overpriced on virtually everything. Never have I ever paid 60$ for a fruit tree that hasnt even began producing yet. It's pretty bad. Also have been asking for a certain plant for years now and they just keep telling me it doesn't grow well in texas and that they have what their supplier gives them. Seems disingenuous, especially when I went to another nursery and they had the plant I wanted for 1/4 of what Steve's place would've charged. read more

Steve is very kniwledgable. He knows so much about our local environment that he won't steer you wrong. If they don't sell it, it shouldn't be grown around Greenville. read more
