High quality equipment, parts and service from a family owned business. I have been a customer for 10 years. Every experience has been excellent and all advice has been 100% accurate. When minor issues have come up- they have always made things 100%. I am a homeowner with 1 acre to maintain. I have several pieces of equipment that are 30 years old and they keep it running with great service and high quality parts. There are probably cheaper places for service, but the honesty and quality make this establishment worthwhile. They also offer pick-up/delivery (for a nominal fee) if you don't have a trailer. They include the used/broken parts after repair, so you can see exactly what they did. I am thankful to have such an honest and high-quality support shop close by. I've suffered poor service at other shops; I'm so glad to have found Lakeview. *Hint- spend the extra bucks to get in the commercial line of equipment. I purchased a Gravely Pro Turn mower after researching and contemplating for over 2 year. I am glad I went to Lakeview Power! Ralph went over all the specifics and differences in the models with no sales pressure and helped me choose what was best for my needs and not sell me too much of a mower. Once I decided which model, Ralph told me the best time to come in was during a big sale Gravely was going to have, which saved me some $$. Friendly and helpful staff, good selection, and great equipment. However, I'm leaving a negative review due to the manner in which I was made to feel by the owner. First off, some background - I have used various types of power equipment and machines for years (having grown up on a farm in rural Idaho). Specifically, I've used chainsaws since I was teenager and a Stihl saw for the past decade. After dropping $500+ on a new saw and walking out, the owner wanted to ensure I could safely operate the saw. I thought there may be something that had changed with this model and a refresher wouldn't be bad. However, the next few minutes were more like an episode out of a reality TV show as I received comments such as: "Where do you put your hands," "is the engine hot," and "see, if you would have started it with the choke on, it would have flooded." The refresher itself wasn't bad, but it was the demeaning approach that left me with such a poor taste in my mouth. I have not felt that disrespected as a customer for a long time, and can't imagine sending my wife or friends there. read more

I was told $50 to repair my weed eater. Two weeks later they said it was ready. At pick up they wanted $110. No call was made to me regarding any extra work. The manager's solution was to take it apart and return it to me not working. I will not return. read more

Ralph needs a lesson on how to treat customers period!! I asked for a refund on a Stihl trimmer that I had just purchased not because of the scratches I found all over it on the way to load it, but because of the way he responded to me bringing it up!! At the time of pickup, i received a bill of 40$ as they told me blades were stuck and its not covered under warranty. I told them it was not my fault due to following reasons. * When i bought the equipment, i did buy cleaner too that they verified in their record * I only used the trimmer couple of times on few small plants and applied cleaner after every use. * Before performing 40$ service, nobody got permission and told me that its not covered as warranty item. * I think this wireless trimmer is new Stihl product and not powerful enough (they agree when u go there to buy) and that the reason for this issue too. They disagreed and told me that they do see cleaner was applied but it was not enough. I would never buy Stihl product or from this store again read more

Horrendous customer service and communication. Do not use this company for warranty work on your Ryobi equipment. I dropped off my electric trimmer on 8/3 along with a freshly charged battery. The service technician who took in my trimmer said "Ryobi is great to work with. Very quick to pay and we should get this turned around pretty quick." The work order had an estimated complete date of 8/17. I had to pay $40 as a deposit. Six days later (8/9) I get a call that they need a charger because the battery was bad. They also told me that the motor was probably burned up because I had .08 line instead of .065. I told them that Ryobi sells .080 and the manual says it's an optional upgrade (HD, Amazon, all sell the thicker line and my manual specifically says it's ok). The tech then argued that .080 is only valid if it's twisted line. I contacted Ryobi directly and they said any .08 would work without problems. I brought them up a charger AND ANOTHER freshly charged battery on the same day (8/9). A couple of days later I called again. Mark (the tech) informed me that the charger was bad, and the other battery was bad (so two bad batteries and a charger?). I strongly disagreed that the batteries could be bad. I have several Ryobi branded power tools and use the batteries all the time. He conceded and said he would order a new motor. He also told me that they would order me a new charger. He also asked that I call the following week to remind him to order the motor (?) 8/22 work order says motor arrived and installed but still had the same issue. 8/23 work order says a switch will be ordered. I didn't hear from anyone until 8/30 (when I called) and was told they're putting in a switch. I was told the service tech would call me back. I waited until 9/7 and called again. I spoke with Brittany. She informed me the unit was ready as of 8/31 and I can pick up the trimmer. I asked "could I have picked this up on 8/31?" and was told I could but my $40 deposit wouldn't be refunded until the warranty work was done. I arrived at the store and was helped by both Kevin (who I found out is the owner/manager) and Brittany. I asked if the new charger was included? Kevin said "yes, it's in the bag." When I looked in the bag I found my old batteries, and my old charger! I asked where is the new one? He ran around the shop for a few minutes then got on the phone with someone. He then told me "batteries and charger were both fine." No apology for a delay, or confusion, just that the charger was fine. That afternoon I called to speak with the manager to express my displeasure. Turned out it was Kevin (same guy that helped me). One thing he said was I should NOT have been able to pick up my trimmer until the warranty was approved. So how in the world did I have my trimmer?? He was clueless and said "I don't know what's going on... I was just returning the equipment." When I picked up my equipment he even reminded me then that until the warranty was approved I would not be getting back my $40 deposit. I would have to return to them (or call) with the credit card information. When I asked Kevin why was I told that Ryobi was quick and good to work with his reply was "that guy doesn't work in the service department" (yet he took in my equipment and handled the initial paperwork) I called 9/14 to check the status of my $40 deposit. The service tech (Rick maybe?) read me the notes that I needed to bring in my old charger so they can swap it out with a new charger! Now I'm totally confused. Oh, and he said my warranty work still hasn't been approved by Ryobi. So I'm still out $40 (and I would still be out my equipment if I didn't pick it up on 9/7 in "error"). I am afraid to take up my charger because I may be told something wrong YET AGAIN. Poor customer service, poor communication (especially from someone that is supposed to be the manager). If you want parts and equipment they have a huge selection and you could probably find what you're looking for. But if you need anything serviced I'd check some of the other places around town. read more

Lakeview power equipment is more than just a lawnmower repair shop. They can handle just about any small engine equipment. Our church has a couple of gasoline powered golf carts we use for shuttling folks to and from remote parking areas. Lakeview Power equipment helps us keep them in top shape by doing the regular maintenance and repairs as needed. They have earned our trust by doing what is needed, but not trying to overcharge and run up the bill with unneeded services or repairs. I took a part it and asked if they could help. I stood for a long time until the counter cleared. Then waited until the older gentleman (I assume was owner or manager as he was barking orders at the counter help)asked if I needed something. I showed him the part and asked if he has it for a Cub cadet. He said yes we carry those, but without the model I can't help you. He was rude to his employees and me as a potential customer. Have bought multiple items from lakeview because of the quality/service. I bought a Stihl chainsaw in the march 2018 sale to use this fall Took it home and put it away for the fall. Never started it until today. Tried to use it today. Starts but wont stay started when you push handle lever. Took it in and they want to take it in the shop and maybe rebuild the carburetor. What. Said since it sat for 8 months the gas they put in has gummed up the carburetor, so they think. Never been started and the carburetor is gummed up to the point that it has to possibly be replaced/rebuilt???? No service tech on Saturday. Never said anything about not using it would this when I bought it. Have always had great service but this crazy. Didn't leave it and took it home. Very disappointed. jeff mcpeak read more

We were in need of a new lawnmower as some crumb bums stole ours while my husband's back was turned! I put it out on our Neighborhood website and Kevin responded. As my husband helps a young man earn money to go to the Boy Scout National Jamboree this summer, the lawn mower was very important to his work! Kevin helped us buy the very best for the money! He talked to our young friend and gave him great advice! Today, we decided to get a new weedeater and edger and again Kevin gave us the very best advice and recommended the best equipment to buy. Service tech called and advised that the repair would be an additional $65. I instructed them NOT to complete the repairs and I would pick the unit up. I was contacted two weeks later that the repair was complete and I owed $65. I complained that I requested no farther work to be done and the tech said he would have some one call me. Two weeks later the Service Manager calls about my picking the unit up. I informed him as to my dis-satisfaction and he advised me he would take the new parts off the unit and return an incomplete non-serviceable unit to me. I informed him that I delivered a complete unit and had expected to pick up a complete unit to sell to another individual with the multiple accessories I own. I asked them to split the outstanding cost of the repairs and he said he would check with the owners. The service manager called the next day and informed me that the owner would not spit the cost and I could pay 100% of the bill or they could remove the parts and return the incomplete unit to me. I consider their actions to be fraudulent and abusive. Your Desired Resolution: I believe that it was reasonable to request the reduction of the bill by 50%. read more

I went there just to put the chain back on my chainsaw, and the Manager, told me that I probably would need a new chain, and his guys was at lunch and probably couldn't get to it until tomorrow. It took only about 3 minutes to put back on. The charge was $7.00 dollars. I was going to give him a $10. tip but he told me he could not accept tips. This company is the BEST! They have quality equipment and provide repairs in a reasonable timeframe. The owner knows his stuff when it comes to power equipment too! I love the fact that they are practicing the guidelines set forth to wear masks and allow fewer people in the store at a time! With this COVID19 virus being so highly contagious, it only makes sense to protect your employees as well as your customers. Way to go, LPE! I have trusted this company for 20 years in providing me with the best equipment and service for all my lawn equipment needs. They are the BEST, hands down! No other company around can compare. I just had my zero turn Gravely PM152m XDZ (model 991028) repaired and extremely pleased with the service, the service tech Mark, and their process for service. Like most, if not all mower, power tool, tractor repair/service centers you must leave it and get in the que. Any time you get service it's your responsibility to ask questions to find out their policy, process and provide them with every detail of the issue(s) you are having and what you attempted to do to service it yourself. I chose LPE as I had several bad experiences with the Gravely dealer closest to where I live (Allen/Fairview) and needed to find another service center, LPE in Rowlett is the next closet location. I will not disclose the issues or the service center, that is not relevant to this review. Now with my issue and repair, last fall 2018, I determined that the wiring harness was bad and need to be replaced. I ordered a harness online, I ordered the wrong one, my mistake. I ordered a second wrong harness, my mistake. The second one appeared to be correct, connected everything but created a grounding issue causing the battery to smoke and spark when touching the cables to the terminals. On Feb 23, I go to LPE and spoke with Kevin (Owner) about the issues and why I am at his location. He provides me the harness part number, different than what I found online, ordered, replaced the other one and was getting the same results. Kevin said it takes about 2 weeks to complete the repair, I asked why and he explained how long it would be to get the first exam of the issue, order the parts, and when it's concerning electrical problem, it could be others after the first attempt. I asked what is the labor charge, he said the per hour charge and I said, that's about what I expected. He explained when they order the parts, how long it takes to get the parts. I took the mover to LPE on 3/11 for repair, explained all the issues and what I did attempting to repair myself. I also asked about them changing the Hydro oil and filter, changing the motor oil and filter and what is the cost. I said do it, that way it ready to go when I get it back. Mark (Service Tech) called me on 3/19 with what he found so far and would need to order the parts and the approx. cost, I asked what caused the problems and was told the issue, it was my fault again, I know I connected it they way he said. I get a call from Mark on 3/25 that its ready for pickup, so 2 weeks, good stuff. The timeline, process, costs, expectations met or exceeded, GREAT JOB GUYS. I will continue to use them for other service of my Commercial Honda mower, all my Stihl power tools and my Gravely mower. It takes me 1.5 hrs round trip, but worth it when you have people that explain the repairs, what caused the failure or issues. read more

The work they did on my chainsaw was great work but the man didnt inform me that after buying a new chain for my saw as well as having my old one re timed and sharpened I wouldnt be allowed to return the new one even after he told me that I could. So he got me to buy a $55 chain that I dont need and cant return. Worst customer service that I have ever had. Will NOT go back. Plus they are way to over priced. read more

I am not real pleased with my experience here. I brought a Ryobi string trimmer in for repair. Would not start. They have a $37.50 diagnostic service charge for finding the issue. I thought it could be the primer bulb and fuel line but without even looking at it, Kevin (the owner) said it's more than likely it's the carburetor. He sold me one for $30. (Not in any packaging) . Well, apparently that wasn't the issue. I brought it back and was going to have them run the diagnostics on it to find the issue. (Should have done this in the 1st place), but Kevin seemed so sure it was the carburetor. When I asked if I would be reimbursed for the carburetor, he said no. Quote "If it would have worked he would have been my hero" Well it didn't work and he is not my hero. Lol. A little to arrogant for my liking. I wasn't going pay them $37.50 / $30.00 + what is really wrong with it. I should have read the reviews for this business. Seems like many people are dissatisfied. I will write off and take to another service center. read more

I don't normally post reviews on Yelp, however I have never been so frustrated by a company as I was with Lakeview power in Rowlett. I was referred to the due to a problem with my Treagger Smoker. They were supposed to have replaced the internal temperature probe as it was not functioning properly. After picking up my smoker and keeping it for just over 2 weeks the called to set delivery back to me. The missed the first delivery time and I called to set a new time. There were no acknowledgement of the missed delivery but they did promptly set a new time. When they showed up they dropped it off in the front of my house in the driveway and were apparently going to drive away without even letting me know they had come. My dog alerted me to their presence and when i came out they stated here you go. The person who was delivering it was the same person who picked it up. When i asked them to assist me into my backyard and getting it up the steps they looked at me as though I had asked them for money. They finally did help me get it to the appropriate spot. But here is the big finish, they did not replace the temperature probe. They kept my smoker for 2 plus weeks and didn't perform the service that Treagger had paid them for.
