I cannot find the words to describe how AMAZING the customer service is from everyone at Roach Feed & Seed. My husband has only worn "Wayne Feed" hats since he was a boy. It's became literally impossible to find them anywhere, then I found this wonderful Store. I am on bed rest and unable to visit the Store, but when I called and asked if they had any hats in stock, they advised me they had just received an order, and would send a picture once it was unpacked. How many businesses do you know of that offers this kind of customer service these days??!!?? THIS is why I buy everything I possibly can from small businesses. If you're wondering why my husband couldn't go shop for himself, he works the third shift, and is a caregiver to me in the time he is awake. It's a little crowded but The owner is super helpful and the workers are always willing to help find stuff you need... Step back into time with this cool feed store! I was running errands with the in-laws who stopped by to pick up some bulk dog food. Super cheap. Do you remember Big Top Pee-wee where he hung out with all the old folk at the general store? That's what it feels like. Lots of nooks and crannies to discover in this store. Seems like somewhere I would hang out longer if they had rocking chairs on the porch. read more

Amazing customer service! You can come in here with any kind of issue whether it be a feed problem or a pest problem and these folks have experts that can help you out. With the warm weather we are experiencing a high volume of mosquitoes at our house. Normally that would not be a problem except for the fact that we have gone organic at our house. Finding organic solutions to problems like mosquitoes can be a very tough thing unless you are Guided by experts who know their stuff about the products that they carry. Thankfully I was able to get some great advice and some great products here that have solved our problem for the time being. I will be back soon to buy more but at least I know the advice and the products worked. read more

We've been going here for years. I can't think of a time when we didn't get our spring planting veg from this place. It's old school and the knowledgeable staff is on it. A few years back we had a problem with leaf spotting on our crookneck squash. I tried everything. They suggested I bring some leaves for them to look at. They told me it was spider mites. I hadn't seen them so I didn't treat for mites. He took out a white piece of paper, thumped the leaf over it and handed me a magnifying glass. Son of a bitch, they there were. He suggested some organic methods to kill them or go nuclear with pesticide. I opted for the former. Worked great! Tell me how that would have gone down at your local big box store? This place is ole school and a landmark really they have a official State sign that says so. This place has a selection of feed for just about any critter that walks or crawls. They even have live chics -- yes I EVEN know someone who had no intent of getting a chic but she said that she walked out with 4 of them critters. I have found pet foods and garden plants and supplies here at a reasonable cost. Customer service is ole school as well. Nothing but the best here . This place is AWSOME. I completely love everything about it and the people who staff it. Everyone is so nice and helpful. They are also knowledgeable to boot. They mainly sell feed, but also so much more. They sell garden plants, fertilizer, chickens, ducks, rabbits, and more. They seem like a place that time forgot and I love it. Even if you don't need anything in particular and are in the downtown Garland area, stop on in and see what they have. I bet you will come out with something purchased. love the staff, very friendly and helpful. i came to purchase a bunny and they knew tons about having a rabbit as a pet which is a plus. price is very low, before finding out this place i used to spend $20 on a small bag of rabbit food now i get 50 pounds of rabbit food for $15! I went to this store last year and asked for Grass seeds, but they explain we need to winterrize our yard. This was my first time getting anything from this store. We used the stuff they told us to use. We have weeds for the first time all over our yard. I will never listen to the old lady or the girl. They sold me stuff to feed my weeds only not killed them, It is going to cost me a arm and leg to get my yard half way back to want it was after 7 years of labor. Took a different route to get to a son's home in North Dallas and found Roach Feed & Seed. Stepped up on that porch and felt the community of Garland. Walked inside since I was lost and talked to the one of the assistants and chatted. A few minutes later a lovely woman came and told me about the feed store and her family. A handsome gentleman stood behind the counter serving customers in that home style way only someone a long time in the community can. A place to hang out, get information, meet some people. Walking in the place is like stepping back in time. It sits next to some train tracks on the edge of downtown Garland. It really is a relic of a bygone era when people shopped small locally owned retailers and not massive big box stores. The wooden porch/sidewalk out front reminds me of an old western town. Inside they still have the original yellowing permit hanging on the wall that must be decades old. They sell various products for the care of both house pets and live stock. They have pet food, bird seed, plant seeds, live plants and even a few live animals. read more

Seriously...if you are planting a garden or maybe just a tomato plant, take the time to visit Roach. It is fantastic, reminds me of going to the feed and seed in East Texas. The people that work here are super friendly and really knowledgable. I just picked up some texas sweet red onions and cauliflower (eeew, but if we grow it, the kids might try it ;) It is a great place to get pets and pet food. read more

This is the most amazing place for any sort of nature-oriented pet supply you might want - superior but inexpensive Koi food in a large bulk bag, organic buffalo dog food, a zillion barrels of exotic bird seed and wild bird feed, aquarium supplies, bird supplies, dog supplies of every imaginable description including organic remedies, specialty cat foods and cat supplies etc etc. .... in addition to the usual and unusual things you would find in a specialty gardening center including organic this and that. Who'd have ever thought you would find this kind of stuff in a Feed Store in little old downtown Garland! Why have I been going to high priced Plano for all of this sort of stuff. Great feed store! When we got our goat, Billy, our vet recommended Roach Feed & Seed. The folks at Roach recommended goat food and goat treats, mineral supplements and dewormer...
