They are the absolute LOVES of my life! Despite all of the bad rep and reviews they get, I am blessed to have two perfectly happy & healthy puppies. One did have Giardia whenever I first brought her to the vet. However, this is bound to happen when and if they step in their brothers or sisters poo/water that is contaminated. It's a bacterial infection that's easy to get rid of. Ever since, I haven't had any issues. They come with all of their paperwork, vaccine records, and the employees + vets in the background are amazing with the puppies. There's always someone cleaning the insides of their pins. Giving pups their supplements/medicine if they need it. I've seen them love on them as well from the backside of the pins. They're very well treated while spending their time at PetLand before being adopted. Some awesome benefits if you purchase a pup: *You get 10% off the store for life. *You get 10% off your next pup. *You get FREE Training for LIFE by one of their certified trainers. *You get supplies, food, their crates, a stuffed animal that has a heartbeat inside to help your pup sleep in the evening while training. ^Be sure to check with your PetLand, as I don't know if any of this has changed in recent years. Something that also helped my pups get acclimated was allowing them to sleep on heating pads on the lowest setting they often slept straight through the night! Even at 4 months old.

I've heard about Petland but never had a need to checked it out--until today. On my way to 75% Off…read moreBooks (priorities, right?), I parked in front of Petland. I have to admit, the lure is mesmerizing when you see those adorable cute puppy faces!! The place was very busy with potential puppy parents, and the salespeople were extremely respective (not aggressive). If you approached a sales person, they were pleasant, maybe offer you to hold a puppy (in a contained safe area) and if you seemed interested they would explain the purchasing process and the benefits of buying a pup from Petland. I was able to see each dog eye to eye through glass, it was a wonderful experience (see my pics). Now, let's be honest: Petland is a sensitive topic. Their reputation is...well, let's call it "controversial." They're known for being pricey because they sell purebred puppies, which naturally cost more than the mixed-breed cuties you find at shelters. Toss in their business model--fancy warranties, extensive health checks, and a marketing budget that could fund a small movie--and you've got the recipe for a luxury puppy experience. Critics claim their dogs come from puppy mills, but I haven't fact-checked that. While I was there, I chatted with a customer who'd just bought a Maltese puppy from Petland and was waiting for her complimentary microchip. She raved about the process, saying Petland offers a bunch of services with their puppies. She seemed thrilled and said her puppy has been healthy and happy. Even if you're not in the market for a dog (note: they only sell dogs), the store itself is pretty impressive. I've included in my Yelp review pics, rows of toys, colorful leashes, food bowls and more. I left happy with a Texas-made leather-scented Circle E candle that I'd been hunting for ages. So, I didn't leave with a puppy, but I did leave with a hard to find candle ... and a slightly more open mind.

If I could give Bark and Purr more than 10 stars I would. The owner Linda is a saint and loves all…read moreanimals. Let me tell you how I know this. Sunday evening my son was out at Lake Lavon and saw a couple of stray labradoodles eating in the trash. So he brought them home and although we tried, the doodles had been loose in the brush and thickets around the lake for some time and their coats were full of burrs and sticker bushes. It was terrible. We tried to do the best cleaning we could so that at least the female doodle could eat again as the burrs were all around her mouth, but they were still in rough shape. Was planning on taking them to the Allen shelter Monday morning but they wouldn't take them as they were found outside city limits and said contact the county shelter. Unfortunately county shelter is closed on Mondays. I decided to get them a professional groom to clean them up properly but no one would see them on such short notice. A few told me that they could see them in a month even after I explained the situation. :( I called Bark and Purr and although they were closed for renovations, the owner Linda listened to the story about the doodles and told me to bring them immediately and she'll take care of them personally. And she did. Not only did they give them a shampoo and cleaning but also offered to let them stay in their kennels until we found the owners or could place them with the DFW doodle rescue as we have 2 pups and limited space. She then sent out the picture of the doodles to all her accounts and sure enough one of their customers knew the doodles' owners and contacted the owners and they were reunited. In the end not only did Bark and Purr Grooming go above and beyond what other groomers would do but also helped to reunite the doodles with their family just for the love of all animals. I couldn't have done it myself and I truly appreciated how much care Bark and Purr showed to these poor lost doodles. Highly recommend this business in every way I can. I will always be taking my muppets here from now on and tell everyone always use Bark and Purr. They truly care. Much love.

We wanted to keep some length on our sweet pup, but make sure she would be cool enough with outside temperatures. Lovey was happy when we picked her up, which tells me she was loved while there. Aside from the excellent grooming job, the staff at Bark and Purr are PHENOMENAL to their customers. I had 2 of my young daughters with me when I picked up our puppy. They were both visibly upset due to a situation unrelated to the business and the staff was beyond kind and made sure my children and I were safe and okay. We will definitely be back! Thank you Bark and Purr!!!

Adam, the grooming manager, called on Monday to see if I could change the appointment. My schedule wouldn't allow the change. He said, "We're a little overbooked so there may be a wait. Ashely has 4 dogs coming at 8 a.m.". Okay. That seemed like a lot so I asked "How long of a wait." He answered "A couple of hours." So I dropped her off at 8:55 a.m. At 1:30 pm I called. It has now been 4.5 hours! She was still not done. So drove over at 3:00 pm. It had now been 6 hours!! They said she had been bathed but still needed grooming and nails buffed! I demanded they give her to me. They did and said, "We're sorry. No charge for the bath." NO KIDDING!? My poor dog had spend the better part of 6 hours in a small cage. She came home traumatized. Apparently Adam has NO idea how to run a grooming schedule. He admitted that Petco over schedules for profit. That's disgusting. It's unfair to the dogs, the owners, and the poor groomers. I won't be back. I'm going someplace that cares about the dogs and not just the bottom line.
