    Tiny Tina's first puppy lesson!
    Melinda S.

After searching high and low for a canine training program, I found an exceptional, affordable program at Petco. After speaking with Laura (one of their certified trainers who is a qualified AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator), is why I chose this specific location. From day one, the experience has been nothing short of positive. Laura's dedication, knowledge, and passion for training are impressive. Whether you're seeking a starter program or an advanced one, I wholeheartedly recommend Petco's training program. The professionalism, personalized attention, and results speak volumes. TIP: Sign up for their rewards program. If you're going to spend hundreds of dollars on training -- get those reward points! This type of training is required for me to have the ability to share my two Maltese pups for tasks like visiting schools, children's hospitals, and nursing homes. This program not only addressed basic commands but also emphasized socialization, impulse control, and appropriate behavior in various environments. I'm delighted with the progress my pups have made thus far, and I have full confidence that they'll be successful as "comfort dogs." For those interested in following my pups as they progress through this program, feel free to join their Facebook group called: "Tiny Little Helpers." Get it? Tiny Tina and Little Lisa as helpers. Awwwwww!!

Angel who got groomed by Eliana!!!
    Rachel A.

My parents were just in town visiting, and we brought their little Sheltie Angel, to be groomed. This is probably the best I have ever seen their dog look. Eliana was the best and I highly recommend her. Angel says thank you so much!

Puppy cut just in time for summer!

First time taking my pups to Petco to get groomed and Whytney did not disappoint. I was nervous at first due to all the mixed reviews but I can at least say that Whytney knows what she is doing and performed the cuts I requested :)

    Daughters bunny! Luna!!
    Amanda R.

My family has been coming here since this place opened. First for the dogs, now for the cat, and a recently added bunny! Never have used the grooming services. I can't comment on their practice. I do know the store has new hours posted. The prices of the animal products are in keeping with other chain stores. I needed food and bedding for my daughters' bunny and we were able to find all the necessary items in one stop. Was happy with the entire purchase.

Our Halfmoon Male beta, Walter, in a 5 gallon tank. Flu all substrate, 0 nitrate ppm, water heater & filter= happy beta!

Paul is very knowledgeable and passionate about fish, and can answer any question related to aquarium keeping. He makes sure to ask about how long your tank has been cycling, and gives appropriate advice to how many fish should go in a tank due to oxygen consumption. The health and quality of life for the animals comes first, and then happiness of the customers, and I think that's always how it should be. Too many animals are just purchased/adopted because of their novelty.. My husband and I are happy & loyal customers! Thanks to Paul!

**WARNING!!** Before You Trust The Mutt Puddle With Your Dog -- Read This First!!!…read more As a new customer, I recieved that red carpet treatment that makes you think you've finally found "the place." The lesson I learned this time is that the true character of a business isn't revealed when everything goes right. It's revealed when something goes wrong. My situation started with a grooming appointment. The Korean cut I requested wasn't what I received. However, that was not my biggest concern. A really bad grooming job grows back, and I could have easily laughed that off and moved on. What I couldn't overlook was that my tiny 5lb Maltese had a puncture wound (the size of a pencil tip eraser) under her chin and a belly covered in abrasions (guessing from hot clippers). When I got home and discovered the injuries, I emailed TMP immediately. I expected: concern for her well-being and a sincere effort to make things right. Instead, I got a lengthy email about "miscommunication" regarding the grooming. I got an apology. What I didn't get was the one thing I was looking for: genuine human concern for my injured dog. Accidents happen. A mistake and owning it does not automatically lose a customer. The solution was never complicated. A simple acknowledgment (regardless of how it happened). My tiny dog came home hurt and that mattered. A refund as a gesture of respect. Before writing this review, I posted this scenario online in a small dog group. I asked a few simple questions: Would you be upset by these injuries? Is "sorry for the miscommunication" enough? Should a refund be offered? Would you return? The majority of the people who responded to the survey are dog lovers, breeders, rescue shelter owners, show dog handlers, vets and professional groomers who unanimously agreed that they would be upset and that they would not return. Several professionals commented that while accidents can happen, transparency and accountability matter. One comment stood out above all the others: "When I read the salon's response, I don't see a groomer saying, 'I'm concerned about Tina.' I see a business saying, 'You can't prove this was us.'" That perfectly captured what I had been struggling to put into words for this review. David Vargas from TMP responded to that online post. Instead of empathy, there were disclaimers. Instead of a heartfelt attempt to make things right, there was a carefully crafted argument about why I shouldn't feel the way I do. He accused me of painting the business in a bad light. No. I simply described what happened and how it was handled. When your instinct is to defend your reputation instead of showing concern for an injured animal, the picture pretty much paints itself. This experience was extremely upsetting for my family, traumatic for our Tina, and I worry about her demeanor when I take her to a new groomer. She's such a tiny baby and to minimalize our situation has been heartbreaking. Our pets rely entirely on us to protect them and on the professionals caring for them to uphold the trust placed in their hands. For all animal lovers, that trust is sacred. One of the most concerning things I discovered after this experience was The Mutt Puddle's liability policy. Their policy (search for it online) states; that pet owners assume all responsibility when leaving their pets in the salon's care and that The Mutt Puddle and its staff will not be held responsible for injuries, deaths, medical bills, clipper burns, cuts, stress-related issues, or nearly any other problem that may arise during grooming. Reading this after my little girl was injured helped me understand why David Vargas response was defensive .. rather than showing (on a case by case basis) concern for my dog and respect for me as a valuable client. I understand that policies exist BUT they should protect everyone involved, not one sided AND they should never replace compassion, responsibility, and concern for an animal's well-being. New and existing customers should read their policies carefully and decide for themselves whether that reflects the kind of care they want for their pets. We've lost complete trust in The Mutt Puddle and will not go back. They have taught me the difference between customer service and reputation control. Good luck with that business model.

We greeted her at our front door, groomer made a face at my dog barking and her first words were, "what are we doing with this one"....not a single greeting or cared to ask my dog's name. The groomer continued being condescending, I had to stop her and tell her, "it seems like you are having a bad day and you don't have to groom my dog, we can cancel". She quickly changed her attitude. What a disappointing first experience! My dog was able to get groomed. The cut was actually great. Over the last couple years. The service has gone downhill here. They are constantly getting new groomers and you don't have a consistent experience. On this occasion, I was told the delay was due to flooding and traffic, but it was only light rain--and it quickly became clear these were just excuses. When a groomer finally arrived at 8:00 AM, I asked if they were scheduled for 7 or 8, and they told me they always start at 8. So why was I booked for 7 AM? To make matters worse, when I asked if my dog would be taken next, the manager initially said yes, but after a conversation between the groomers, she changed her story and claimed they had 8 AM appointments ahead of mine--even though my appointment was at 7 AM. It was frustrating and confusing. I had to request to the customer directly if it was ok if my 7am appointment could go first. There was also a dog in a crate in the back crying for over an hour--yet another example of poor care and lack of consideration. As I waited I saw 4 more dogs get dropped off all for appointments that already had multiple dogs waiting for the two groomers. Honesty and communication are essential in any business, but especially one where people are trusting you with their pets. The manager not only gave misleading information but also consistently fails to respond to messages or communicate clearly--except when it comes to offering excuses that aren't true. I won't be returning.
