I board her and also utilize the daycare option and our experience every single time has been amazing. I recently called Canine Republic after our dogs became sick following their 5-day stay, and I spoke to Rob. I asked what they planned to do about the situation, and Rob mentioned he had tried calling my partner, but she didn't answer because she didn't recognize the number--he hadn't left a message, so she didn't even know they were trying to reach her. Rob then asked for our vet's information so he could call them to ask about the findings. When he called back, he downplayed the situation, saying that what happened is "normal" and can occur at daycare--referring to both the eye ulcer and kennel cough. I brought up the fact that they had been informed about other dogs having kennel cough that same week, but we weren't notified. His response? They "try to clean as best they can," but kennel cough "just happens." Canine Republic completely refused to take responsibility for what happened while our dogs were in their care. When we dropped off our dogs, they were perfectly healthy. From the pictures we received throughout their stay, they still seemed fine. But when we picked them up, one dog had a cough and the other had a red, irritated eye. Both were seriously sick, and we ended up paying over $700 in vet bills to treat them. What's even worse is that the grooming was terrible. Both dogs were cut unevenly and looked like they hadn't been groomed at all. One dog came back with a bald spot, and when I asked about it, the groomer said they "did great" and didn't mention any concerns. The only thing they didn't do was trim one of our dog's nails because she had anxiety. In the end, we paid more to fix our dogs' health problems than we did for boarding and grooming. Canine Republic's refusal to take responsibility, poor communication, and lackluster grooming make it clear we won't be using their services again. read more

My experience with Canine Republic ended up costing me $1300, and it was a nightmare from start to finish. We boarded our two dogs for 5 days and had them groomed on the last day. The total cost for boarding, grooming, and tip was over $600. Everything seemed fine initially--Canine Republic posted pictures of our dogs, and they appeared to be happy and well cared for. When I picked them up, the staff were friendly, and my dogs were excited to see me. However, I immediately noticed that their grooming was poorly done. One dog's fur was uneven and patchy. When I asked for a fix, the groomer did it, but my dog came back with a chunk of hair missing. Worse, I noticed one of my dogs had an irritated eye. I contacted Canine Republic, and they assured me nothing had happened during grooming or their stay. But a few hours later, we had to rush her to the emergency vet because her eye was severely infected, red, and pus-filled. The vet diagnosed her with an ulcer likely caused by soap getting in her eye during grooming. This emergency visit cost us about $500. Just when we thought it couldn't get worse, my other dog began coughing continuously a couple of days later. After a vet visit, we found out he had kennel cough, which added $200 to the total (thankfully, we're on a wellness plan, or it could have been $410). The vet mentioned she had notified Canine Republic that her dog, who went to daycare at the same time, had kennel cough. Yet the facility didn't inform us, exposing our dogs to the illness. I sent the vet bills to Canine Republic after they asked for them, only to be told they did nothing wrong and wished my dogs well. If they weren't going to help, why ask for the bills in the first place? While the staff were friendly at first, their lack of accountability when problems arose was extremely disappointing. Between the bad grooming and two sick dogs, this experience was costly and stressful. I will not be returning. read more

This is the best place to board your dog or just drop them off for some daycare and socialization. I live over 30min away with half a dozen places closer and still come here evey time. They've accommodated my poor planning, taken perfect care of my dog, and even go out of their way to make sure he's comfortable on my longer trips. Can't thank them enough. read more

I absolutely love Canine Republic. We've been coming for just over 6 years and you won't find a more committed group of people to care for your pup. Our pups squeal once we round the corner and they know we're going to daycare. For overnight care, we just don't trust anyone else. You can tell the other pups in the lobby (and their parents) feel the same. We've now had multiple generations of our pups attend. Their prices are MORE than fair--just look at the competition. Tours are easy to schedule and their overnight boarding includes daycare. It's great to know I can add on extra treats, play activities, or baths/nail trims when they need it. We left our 4 month old Sheepadoodle at Canine Republic while we went on an 8 day vacation. I was hesitant to leave her but she did great! They posted pictures of the dogs playing each day on Facebook. It was nice to be able to check in on her. When we picked her up she went crazy with excitement to see us but then tried to get back into the play area with the other dogs! The staff were great and we will definitely return! read more

I cannot recommend Canine Republic enough. All the staff genuinely cares about you and your dogs, and everyone really seems to love working there, which is always a good sign to me. It's not the cheapest option, but it is worth every penny. We have a puppy with tons of energy, so we take her to daycare almost every day. She loves it, and I honestly think they love her just as much. And they post pictures of all the pups on Facebook, which is really nice cause then we get to see her having fun while we're at work! Our puppy got injured while she was playing one day, and they immediately isolated her, covered up the wound, and called me. They even offered to take her to the vet for me if I wasn't able to leave work. Plus, they double checked all of the other dogs to make sure none of their nails were too long, so the same thing wouldn't happen again. When I took her to the vet, they said they did the same thing the vet would have done, which really amazed me. I found out later that they have pet first aid and CPR training, so they are really prepared for this sort of thing. They were even kind enough to put her in private day boarding for the normal daycare rate while she was healing, which is further proof of their excellent customer service. It's possible I'm biased because I have an extremely cute and well behaved puppy who everyone loves, but I really do think this is an excellent establishment full of people who are enthusiastic about their jobs and who do everything they can to offer a great service. read more

Updated 8/2024. They are still the best but I also have to say how great their grooming is. My dog got cleaned up but still looks like her cute self. She's never been fluffier. I will definitely be scheduling her grooming again with them. My dog still loves daycare and cries and barks when we exit the highway because she knows where we are going! The BEST daycare and boarding facility. They are all the kindest people. Even staff members who I have not met greet my dog by her name as soon as we walk in. I love the daily update pictures. My pup has never leaped out of a car as fast as he did the other morning when we pulled up to Canine Republic. I have always been very cautious and hesitant when it comes to fully trusting a boarding/daycare spot, but CR has quickly won me over based on my dog's excitement and behavior in addition to the warmth and energy of the staff every time I come inside. We've been coming here for about a month now and it has been hands down the best daycare experience we've seen in the DFW metro. We have another go-to spot in Uptown which is closer to our home, but we work in Plano and our hours don't allow us to pick him up before they close on weekdays, so CR has become our daily spot. As mentioned, the staff is just straight up warm and friendly. You can tell they genuinely love being surrounded by and working with dogs all day. The system is incredibly organized and they're quick to familiarize themselves with your pup. It wasn't long before they knew Manny by name and greeted me with compliments and funny stories about his day. Pricing is extremely reasonable, especially because there are several daycare places that charge a lot more or don't offer package discounts. I noticed the grooming prices are competitive as well - it doesn't seem like they're out to take advantage of the customer at all. They have lots of kiddie toys like small slides and furniture for the dogs to play on and they post daily photos to FB so you can always get some cute snapshots of your fur child. The biggest perk is that they have indoor/outdoor space which was hugely important to us. Our pup seems miserable if cooped up indoors without getting to take in the scents of the outside world, so having the option to go outside was a big benefit that not many other facilities offer. We left our pup at Canine Republic and unfortunately I got zero feedback on how she did. It was during COVID so maybe that's why. Anyways, I spent another $500 at my vet because within hours of getting home, she couldn't walk. She'd cry if touched. Obviously something went wrong at her stay and they never informed me. Update, Ash who runs the facility called me when he saw this review. He left a VMM and he did not wait for me to return the call but instead he called my vet to ask for my dogs medical record. My vet called me to get my permission to release her medical record. I think that's inappropriate to call to get medical info before speaking with me. Pretty inappropriate and ballsy. He didn't think my review was fair and asked me to remove it. I told him my review stands. He chuckled and told me "good luck finding a place to board." read more

I cannot recommend this place enough! From boarding, to day care, to even their pet spa it is all amazing!!! We tried canine shortly after we got our lab and have never once been disappointed. The staff is the best and takes the best care of my pups. When I had to board my lab I was so scared because it was our first time leaving him not with family and it'd be the longest we left him over 24 hours! The staff took the best care of him and kept me up to date everyday on how he was. Shortly after we got our second dog we took both pups there and it was like our second dog was apart of the pack from the start. I lived in Lewisville and passed 3-4 other daycares but still chose canine. I now live in Dallas and canine is out of the way from my work and school but I still choose them because they go above and beyond! I love canine and I recommend them to anyone I can! My pups get so excited as soon as we turn into the parking lot because they know they're going to have the best time! I looked at (and visited) quite a few dog "daycare" places that were between my home and work after I adopted my dogs. They're both high energy, and I wanted them to get some hardcore playtime at least a couple of days during the week. Canine Republic was the place that I walked in and immediately liked. It smells clean, and the staff LOVES animals. They were talking to each of the dogs that got picked up, chatting with the owners about their days, and it was such a positive, warm atmosphere. What also impressed me is that on the quick little tour the owner did NOT let me go outside to the big dog playcare because he said it disrupts the pack (which makes sense). But what I really liked about that was that he was putting the dogs above a potential customer. He wasn't going to upset all the dogs, get them all wound up and excited that *their* owner might be there, just to make a sale. Instead he talked me through everything, showed me some of their empty boarding spaces, and answered my questions. By comparison, the other places I looked at A) weren't anywhere near as clean, and b) did not have as nice of boarding spaces (which is important to me because I travel). The first day of playcare was FREE so we could see if my dogs enjoyed it, and they gave me a whole report card WITH PICTURES that told me which dogs they played with the most and what they did the most that day. Even though this place doesn't have live cameras, they post 200-300 pictures A DAY on their Facebook page for big dog playcare, and another full set for little dog playcare (and even more pictures for private daycare). It's a seriously impressive place and I can tell why they've won so many awards. They treat pets like family, and everyone that works there is a major animal lover, which makes me feel confident bringing my dogs back again and again! read more

Before I start, let me state that I'm very protective over my dog and barely trust friends or family members to watch him. Canine Republic, I trust them!! Charlie has been going here for 4 years now and when i drop him off, my mind is at ease. He always has a blast and I never have any issues. He is greeted with open arms constantly and remembered by name. In addition, I was out of town once for work and Charlie had tummy issues. The staff kept me up to date and sent me photos to put me at ease while I was out of the state. He even got to stay in the big bosses office to rest till I made my early flight back home. My pup is basically like my child, so finding a good doggie day care is important. So far, I really like Canine Republic! The staff is always SUPER nice and my dog comes home tired and happy. I love that they post pictures daily on Facebook of the dogs. The only 2 complaints I had is that a webcam would be awesome and the price is definitely higher than other places I have been to. They offer packages but the discount is minimal. I only take him about once a month, when I have an event after work or have to work late.
