If you're a pet owner, you know that choosing a boarding or daycare facility isn't just a transaction--it's a trust decision. My family has been bringing our dogs to Pet Paradise Premier in Plano for nearly 10 years. Over that time they've cared for three of our dogs: Lily, our brindle sweetheart; Nova, my brilliant Catahoula rescue; and now Blondie, our playful pit-husky mix. Blondie currently attends daycare two or three days a week and boards there when we travel. Overall we've had many good experiences. The dogs get exercise, socialization, and the staff clearly knows them well. But the real reason we remain loyal clients is Wendy Hudgins. Over the years there have been a couple situations where things didn't go exactly as expected. Those moments are when you find out what a business is really made of. Wendy has repeatedly stepped in with professionalism, calm leadership, and genuine care. She takes ownership, communicates openly, and clearly cares about the animals and the families who trust them to Pet Paradise. There were times she even proactively called to let us know about something happening so we were never left wondering. That kind of accountability and transparency matters. To be very honest: if Wendy wasn't part of the team, we probably would have moved on. She is an incredible asset to Pet Paradise and exactly the kind of person you hope is looking after your dog. Hate to leave bad reviews since I can't speak to the nature of the grooming services. I've tried to work with them now for two weeks and I've been rescheduled three times now. Today was the last straw. Before it was moving the appointment by a couple of hours (fine, totally understand), then it was moving it to another day (again, I'm flexible) but my appointment is tomorrow and I just got a message that the system overbooked. That's the same excuse as the last two times and a huge red flag. They wouldn't be able to see my dog until next Wednesday, so no. Looking at the reviews of this place it's a mixed bag. I really wish they would understand that grooming is not something cheap or that owners take lightly and commitments need to be honored. I took the time to download apps, fill out paperwork, communicate with the staff and all I got was an ungroomed puppers that I now have to find yet another place for. The business owners seemed to reply to my previous review, and they said they would escalate to "upper management", but I never got a message or any follow up. I'm only updating this because my dog has a BALD SPOT on her elbows STILL because she was sleeping in her urine that entire night and it was so itchy that she bit it until she was bleeding. Again, PLEASE do not trust this company for the well being of your dog. We now use Rover where our dog is so much happier and is actually loved and at the bare minimum cared for. I feel my Golden Doodle was traumatized here at this location. The accommodations are not near what Kyle and Georgetown have. The groomer contacted me telling me she was going to have to shave her tail because of matting. She is groomed at another Pet Paradise every 4 weeks, and I have never had to have her tail shaved! Her ears were not plucked, also requested a trim on body, it was almost shaved and she was 'not able' to do trim with scissors after the razor cut, BUT I was charged full price. It is not the money it was the care she was given. She has growled and snapped at me since being picked up 2 days ago. The front staff was nice enough, but my girl was not cared for at the same standard as she has gotten at Kyle and Georgetown. Was VERY UNHAPPY with grooming and possibly (probably) lack of care during her stay. Will NOT be back at this location for ANY reason. read more

We use the Pet Paradise in Cedar Park, but we're in Plano for a family emergency. I booked the reservation online, but I had accidentally allowed our dog's vaccines to expire, and they wouldn't let her in (understandably so). They gave me a recommendation for a local vet that does walk-ins. I got her vaccinated and brought her back same day and they took her in with no problem. They updated my records and they were great with our nervous pup. Great facilities and wonderful front desk staff!! read more

Terrible terrible and more terrrible!! They have a great lack of caring and honesty!! They boarded black lab for my daughter during their spring break vacation and when my son-in-law went to pick him up on their return (1 week later), they never gave him a bath and he had a terrible infection on his neck. This infection cost them a vet to their vet and in excess of $600. This terrible boarding place refused to acknowledge the problem and just "walked away", even after hearing directly from the vet! Booked an appointment on line for grooming and got a confirmation and a reminder email. Got there and we were told the "software" they use overbooks and they couldn't groom our dog today. We don't live close by, 12 miles away, and ended up wasting an hour of our day. Sounds like poor management if they know it does that and they don't correct it. Had some great experiences in 2017 with Pet Paradise but ended up using a private house sitter for the past couple years. She couldn't handle large dogs anymore though (ours is 110#s) so we decided to use Pet Paradise again. Our dog suffers from anxiety and can be aggressive towards strangers when stressed. My wife notified Pet Paradise about the situation and their assistant manager was very understanding and said they'd welcome him in for a day to assess him. When I arrived, I again explained the situation to the front desk who was also very understanding and said they'd take it slow and easy with him. While waiting for someone to come get my dog, I had him lie down. When the guy came out, my dog rose from prone to sitting and grunted. The guy immediately said they wouldn't accept my dog because they wouldn't accept any dogs displaying aggression. I understand that policy but then why tell us to come in?! And I'm sure they accept dogs all the time that bark or lunge at another dog when walking in... which is much more aggressive. Finally, when my wife heard, she called and spoke with the manager- who ended up being the guy who came out and rejected our dog. He lied and said our dog lunged at him! I can't speak for the boarding option at this place, but I can say that one should avoid it if they just want to get their dog bathed/teeth brushed. I have had suspicions in the past that my dog doesn't actually get bathed, but it just sprayed with perfume and that his teeth don't get brushed at all. Today, our vet confirmed that there is no way his teeth have been getting brushed. He is going to have to have a couple of them extracted. I hate myself for wasting my money on this place. I'm giving this location a 5-star review because of the groomer, Betty. When I took my 2 dogs here yesterday, the front desk staff shared that my original groomer cancelled due to calling in. Betty kindly offered to add my dogs to her already busy schedule. One of my dogs is only 5 months, so Betty called me to talk with me about options for my 5 month old dogs groom due to her being very timid and scared. Betty is so friendly , and maintains the best attitude even though I knew she was swamped yesterday. I took my other dog there today, and Betty greeted me and was so excited to see my 3rd dog. We have been taking our babies to Pet Paradise for several years. We use the boarding service for our cat and our dog when he can not travel with us. The cat room has two room suites and the cats are given individual exercise time outside of the suite. There is a large window in the room that the cats can look out of while in their suite or sit on the window sill during exercise. The staff always takes special care and give sweet "report cards" for their stay. We also take our Yorkie to Liz for grooming. He is very nervous but Liz always takes good care of him. The facility is clean and the staff are caring and organized with special instructions like feeding and medications. read more

I just picked up my dog from a scheduled grooming, de-shedding and nail trim. The last time I took him in, I was charged $60... this time I got a shock that the price was now $86.50. Then I was asked if I wanted to give the groomer a tip... after the $26.50 increase in price. It has been a little over a month since his last visit, so the price increase is definitely excessive. When my dog came out it was apparent that whoever did the work is a rank amateur or was not paying attention today. He was definitely NOT brushed out properly after the de-shedding. I understand... this place is in financial trouble since Covid hit... many businesses are. However, ripping off loyal customers is NOT the way to handle the issue. I cannot recommend this business to anyone and will definitely find another place to have my dog groomed from now on. A 44.2% price increase in less than two months to go along with the shoddy work done this time... is a bit too much for me to take without commenting here... and taking my business elsewhere. My roommate picked up my dogs today. However, they gave him the wrong dog! I'm absolutely livid! How in the world do you give someone the wrong dog!? I am a nervous dog parent. Leaving my boy in unknown territory gives me anxiety. (Not to mention, he gets upset at me for leaving him at my parents' for even a weekend.) Pet Paradise is every pet parents' dream! They provide a low residue food, toys & beds (for sanitary purposes), and for a little extra $, frequent email updates with pictures while you're away. The facilities are clean, the "rooms" are spacious with clear plastic dividers so that pets can see out, and the employees are so attentive. I witnessed one actually crawl IN the bunk just to give some love to a nervous dog, and that was really appreciated. Before my six day trip, I was allowed to bring Butters in for a complimentary day care stay (8-5). I called around noon for an update, and they graciously answered any and all questions. He got a 'pawgress report' at the end of the day which was just adorable. By the time I brought him back, there was no fighting the leash, or a longing stare to bring him back home. He actually ran to the door to the play area! He loves this place, and I'm willing to drive clear across town to let these fabulous people spoil my dog for me. read more

Do not leave your in tact male here. My poor baby's testicles were burned and swollen and the people said nothing to me when I picked him up. He was there for a week. My dogs really enjoy coming to this boarding and grooming Facility. The groomers there take good care of my 2 dogs and always give them a good Haircut. They come out and take the time to listen to what I want done and always make sure they are still clean when I pick them up. At first it was truly stressful for me because my dog is a rescue and suffers from separation anxiety and Pet Paradise has completely blown me away. Dropped my dog off for an ultimate bath and a deshedding add on. When I picked my dog up his ears had not been cleaned I had to come home and do it myself. He also had a lot of loose fur still which he shouldn't have had since I paid for the deshedding. She also stated my dog was scared to be blow dried but my dog has never been scared of a blow dryer in fact I blow dry him every morning when doing my hair. Pet Paradise had good reviews, and my typical boarding facility was full, so I gave them a try. My puppy was terrified from the moment I walked in the door (which is very out-of-character for her, and it should have been a red flag for me). I could hear multiple dogs howling when I dropped her off. There were several people helping out in the reception area. Other than her reaction and hearing the other dogs (which also should have been a red flag), the drop-off experience was fine. Upon going to pick her up, there was only one person in reception. She was on the phone (and didn't acknowledge me the entire time, nor did she try to get someone else to help me), and stayed on the call for about 20 minutes. During that time I looked around the inside of the facility. There was a window that looked into a large play room, that they were apparently using for storage, even though there was one husky roaming around the space. Diarrhea was all over the floor (at least four separate places and a large quantity at each spot). There was a garden hose (attached to a spigot) sprawled across the middle of the floor. And there were multiple (what looked like) small cots stacked together laying on their sides. The dog had no toys, no food, no water, was all alone (no other dogs to play with and no supervision), and just pacing around the mess on the floor and looking out the window. It was heart-breaking to watch this dog. Then I looked in another window. This window was into where the dogs are being housed. It looked like an animal shelter. The dogs were in individual squares of space, blocked off from being able to see any other dogs, and there was NOTHING in the space with these dogs. No bedding. No food. No water. No toys. Nothing. The dogs were just lying on bare concrete. With NOTHING else in the square of space. Shelters have more for the animals than this facility provides!! When the person in reception finally got off the phone call, I commented on the husky. I was told the dog was fine. I mentioned the diarrhea. The response I got was "I'm tired. I've been here since 6:30." It was about 1 in the afternoon, but, regardless, that isn't a valid excuse for a sick dog that is in a room without any food or water. She didn't call for assistance or for anyone to come check the dog. This facility is far more expensive than the other boarding facilities I have used. Other facilities have play-time built into their base cost. This facility you have to pay extra for play-time (and I paid for it). But where do they play? In a room all alone with nothing but storage items? And what do they do when they aren't 'getting to play?' Lying on a square of concrete with no supervision, no toys, no bedding, and no food or water available to them? I will never subject my dog to this facility again. read more

The always lovely Ms. Velvet Jones would like to share with you how much she LOVES Pet Paradise. After three years of less than stellar experiences with high priced, in-home pet sitters who promised great things but delivered nothing but stress, heartache and disappointment (e.g., not showing up as promised, leaving the house filthy, having a young child over--believe it or not, these were THREE different people), Ms. Jones was at her wits end. Ms. Jones adores her handsome Basset Hound named Winston and cannot bear the thought of him ever having a lonely night. She also can't bear the thought of paying $100 plus dollars per night to a dog sitter who eats her out of house and home, drinks her wine, has their family over, steals her toilet paper and lies to her on top of it (yes, it all happened). What to do? What to do? Ms. Jones LOVES to travel with her Rock Star husband, but a lack of conscious and care from so-called professional in-home pet sitting agencies left her with quite a conundrum. On a sleepless night reading Yelp reviews, Ms. Jones found Pet Paradise. Could all the five star reviews be true? Or was it friends and family singing false praises (like so many Yelp reviews seem to have become)? Pet Paradise offered a free pass to give it a try and figuring she had nothing to lose, she took her beloved Winston for a visit. When she picked him up after that first half day, he came home with a perfect report card (they grade your pet on categories such as getting along well with others, happiness, etc), and Sir Winston was HAPPY. Ms. Jones was pleased with her first experience and decided to give it another whirl with an overnight visit. You know what? Sir Winston had another wonderful stay. Over the course of the next five months, Winston stayed a few more times and Ms. Jones added a take home bath so he'd be squeaky clean a smell wonderful upon pick up. After a ghost hunting (not joking) three day July 4th Holiday in Granbury, Ms. Jones picked up Winston this afternoon and this was the happiest she has seen him yet. Sir Winston was well cared for, clean and you could see from his face (also not joking--for those of you who are dog lovers, you know exactly what I mean), he had had another great stay at Pet Paradise. Another feature that is reassuring about PP is that they have cameras where one may tune in and watch their beloved furry family member at play. Ms. Jones missed Sir Winston while away and would check in on him through video 3 to 4 times a day hoping to catch him in the play area. Let me share with you that EVERY time she tuned in, she could see this handsome chap wagging his tail as he interacted with the other canines AND she was thrilled how staff was always present, not on their cell phones and even took the time to pet Sir Winston on the head from time-to-time. If you are doubtful of trying this place--DON'T BE. You and your beloved pet will LOVE IT AT PET PARADISE. Ms. Jones 100% assures you PP will be the answers to your prayers. Good care, reasonable prices, nice staff who don't have their noses stuck in the cell phones and still make eye contact and converse with you when you walk in, a spotless facility and love for your pet while you are away--what more can one ask for?
