Still holding another dog and watching as my pup was being barked at aggressively (top left: cornered terrified puppy vs French bulldog)
    Cindy W.

I want to like this place but I'm very hesitant about coming back. We dropped off our pup yesterday for her interview day and she's very timid by nature. While looking at the puppy cam, we saw the employee just blatantly ignore her while a French bulldog was clearly bullying and barking at her. There were so many dogs, sure, but couldn't he have been more attentive especially when this dog was barking incessantly? Luckily, I used my screen recorder to record the situation (Camp Bow Wow managers -- I'm happy to share for further inquiry) . I did call the camp immediately and they addressed it right there and then. I appreciated that. I was watching later and a female employee gave the dogs so much love, that I'm willing to reconsider going back. I do wish they talk to the employee (photo of the screenshot attached) to be more diligent when another dog is cornering a pup and harassing her. She was so scared you could see that she was backed into a corner. Moreover, another dog started humping the french bulldog and he didn't even pull that dog off of the frenchie! What the hell (I have this on video too). I am willing to give it another try given that I saw two other employees show much more responsibility but also considering other options like Wag / Rover. Overall, disappointed for my pup's first time experience. Also, there was one bowl of water in the back and they just let the dogs pee in the same area. They do clean up ASAP which is good - but I wished there was more time to go outside. My pup eventually went outside to take a breather and so I'm happy they eventually opened the door. Wished there were more spaces to accommodate more nervous dogs. Very clean and neat front desk area. Happy they have cams so you can check in on them -- just wished that attendant was more attentive or there were two at the same time with that many animals at once.

Response to April: April, it is obvious that you were not listening to my husband and I as we were speaking to you, but instead just figuring out a way to respond, just like your response here. The collar is NOT new. He has worn it for over 6 months at home, all the time. We told you he wears a training collar as well. This is only when we are training him. The collar that he wears all the time was in a LIKE NEW condition when we brought him in there and in a matter of 6 nights, it was brought back in the disgusting condition along with a very bad rash on his neck. If we paid you extra for extra attention, then I find it hard to believe that nobody noticed the rash on his neck, elbows, and legs and nobody thought to notify us about it. We asked for the extra activities over the phone. The person we spoke to didn't let my husband know it was only for 15 minutes after he told them that we wanted him to play for at least an hour a day. That should have been said. Yes, you did decide to let us keep him there away from the other dogs even though he did not harm any of the other dogs. Let's be real, none of you are dog behaviorists and actually know when harm is being done hence my dog's condition in your facility's "care". If somebody had told us your facility couldn't have handled our dog, we would have had somebody pick him up. You had a list of those people who were able to do so. But you decided to just take our extra money and that it was okay that my dog came home with all these issues. Oh, in addition to the existing issues I've already noted, he is now barking more than he ever has before and is not eating in the mornings. You can pour out all your excuses and try to blame it on my dog, but again, he has stayed at a different facility and never had problems. This is even more disappointing that you're trying to save face instead of accepting responsibility for the abhorrent "care" my dog had at your facility. Shame on you.

We boarded our goldendoodle here over Thanksgiving and we had the absolute worst experience. The first day she was there I watched her on the cams to see how she was doing. There was a male dog in her play group that would not stop mounting her. She kept going by the worker, but he was too busy talking to the worker in the other play pen that he never noticed and eventually the male accomplished his mission and "finished" the job. I was horrified watching the whole thing go down and the worker doing nothing to stop it. When we picked her up she was a mangled mess. We paid extra to have her "groomed" before she left. She was a damp mess and not brushed well at all. Once we got her home to brush her out we noticed two spots where it looked like her fur had been cut to get a mangle out and a huge soar on her elbow. We spend a lot of money on grooming for her so we were pretty upset with the state we received her back in. Two days later she had symptoms of kennel cough, which to be honest we were expecting to happen since this was her first boarding experience, but then these scab like soars showed up on her belly. She contracted a skin infection as well. Took her to the vet and shes been on antibiotics for the past two weeks. We haven't even been able to get her groomed because of her sickness. Needless to say she will never be going back to camp bow wow.

I would not recommend this location to anyone. The owner of this establishment has had days to contact me about an extremely poorly handled situation with my dog, while boarding there, and could careless to reach out. (I canceled a 3 night board, after day 1, and had to have a friend pick up my dog, while I was out of town). It's a long story... For now, I felt the need to at least note this for anyone debating on taking their fur babies here. UPDATE: The day I dropped my dog off, I couldn't find her on the cameras ANYWHERE, checking multiple times and then finally sending an email stating "hey crazy dog mom here... i can't seem to find Mia place on the cameras and I'm hoping everything is ok". This was about 4 hours before close and I get NO response and I try to call, no pick up.... The next morning I get an email with the attached photos claiming it was "a little nothing". So clearly... the staff the day before took her out of the play area after she was hurt and avoided contacting me or responding me. I called at 12pm, 1pm then emailed about 3 PM that day and was told "she was doing great" in an email, when clearly she wasnt b/c she was attacked @ 9:13 AM that morning, if they had even checked on her they would have seen the puncture wound. So she was not doing "great". My dog was attacked by another dog bc they were extremely over booked and understaffed, letting the dogs crowd the gate. My dog was on the outskirts, when a dog was coming in, and a dog next to her attacked/bit her. I saw the video and she literally just froze and coward into a corner, one of the saddest videos I've ever seen. The owner was supposed to give me a call, to discuss the situation and payment. Her cut is not healing and is deep so I am probably taking her to the vet. I called to discuss this and mentioned the owner has yet to call... the owner wasn't planning on calling ever, I was told they just gave me the one night free and called it a day. I said it would have been nice to have been told this and gotten a call, especially since I was expecting and told I'd be getting one... I don't think this owner cares much for their patrons so beware. The owner (April) seems to be trying to cover their butt by lying to me and it's super unprofessional and frustrating. Par for the course with this location and the staff seemingly. She is argumentative and doesn't listen to what is being said. She reads what she wants to see and doesnt actually look into it or the facts. She claimed I got calls and voicemails which I did not, making a very frustrating situation even worse as this is my baby.

Our boxer is on the red bridge getting a big hug from a team member !! Makes my heart so happy to see this :)

Our boxer is super high energy so we love taking her for day camp to play! She absolutely LOVES it here (we originally started at the flower mound location, which is also amazing!!!! But moved to Allen so we needed a closer location) every person you come in contact with is so kind and you can tell they just love dogs :) the bonus is they have live webcams so you can watch your pup play (and get some love! See pic attached!) thank you to the team at camp bow wow Plano!!

Do you have anyvattendants on-site during overnight stays?

Hi Barb, we do not have people stay the night in part because the presence of people in the building causes the pups to remain restless. They are all safely tucked away in their cabins and cannot hurt each other. We also have a state-of-the-art fire… Read more

Do you separate the large dogs from the small dogs during playtime?

Yes, we separate dogs based on weight. We have teacup, small and large dog yards at camp. All yards have indoor and outdoor space. All dogs also have to pass a temperament test in order to play at camp.

Are all of the play areas inside, or are there outdoor play options?

Hi Jennera! We do have outdoor play yards! Each indoor play yard has an outdoor play yard as well. The doors stay open unless we have severe weather so dogs can move indoor to… Read more

This sounded like an aggressive dog situation. We have gone to this Pappy's for years (even when they were on Ohio), but I can't send my dog back there in good faith. No one from Pappy's has called to check on Summer and when they sent me a survey link, mysteriously, it didn't work they said they were having software issues. Anywho, they took her to a vet Friday after the attack (since we were out of town and she needed emergency care), but they didn't stitch her up. That was no cost to us, but they did still charge us for the boarding that should have been comped. We took her to her normal vet on Tuesday and she had surgery yesterday, stitches and a Penrose drain placed. $1800 out of our pocket. Also, a couple months ago, when we picked her up from getting groomed, she was acting like something was in her eye. The next day I took her to the vet to have that checked, and she had trauma to the eye. I don't know if that happened w the groomer or daycare afterward, but nothing was said to me on pickup and I gave them the benefit of the doubt that accidents happen. Now after this, no more Pappy's. I just don't get the feel that this place is professional and safely managed anymore.

I once thought they were the the best but now consider them amongst the worst. The attitude of staff is non caring at best and cruel at worst. Given the prices they charge one would think your animals are well taken care The last few times and (especially today) when we got them home at 3:30, they got out of our car and peed for nearly 2 minutes. It was clear the staff did not let them out to urinate for many hours. Horrible! The worst part; the dismissive, smug and "I don't give a d**m attitude"of the staff. No smiles, no greeting and no thank you. They are a miserable bunch to be sure. We really don't care about pleasantries but care a lot our about our dogs. For these reasons we will NEVER take them to Pappys again. Advice; you need completely new leadership and fire every one on the front desk staff and likely the people in the back who lock up dogs and don't even let them pee. I will be calling the city of Plano in the morning as an inspection is in order. If you care about your dog, Pappys is last place you should leave them.

My family has been bringing our dogs to Pet Paradise Premier in Plano for nearly 10 years. Over that time they've cared for three of our dogs: Lily, our brindle sweetheart; Nova, my brilliant Catahoula rescue; and now Blondie, our playful pit-husky mix. Blondie currently attends daycare two or three days a week and boards there when we travel. Overall we've had many good experiences. The dogs get exercise, socialization, and the staff clearly knows them well. But the real reason we remain loyal clients is Wendy Hudgins. Over the years there have been a couple situations where things didn't go exactly as expected. Those moments are when you find out what a business is really made of. Wendy has repeatedly stepped in with professionalism, calm leadership, and genuine care.
