We get texted a picture of each cat or several and a written update on how the visit went. We have never had 1 issue with anything missing or even a picture frame moved out of place. My husband is a worrier about our lovely cat family and it puts his mind at ease using this service and how well cared for our cats are. I get a phone call that my dog has been injured, they wanted to ask me if he should be taken to a vet. The dog had to be put under sedation so he could get stitches, then I received multiple phones calls from the vet trying to figure out payment. They weren't even going to take him to the vet for an injury that required minor surgery. This ruined the event for day. They are completely incompetent. I'm supposedly paying for them to take care of my dog so we can enjoy our vacation. The idea that he wasn't immediately taken to a vet is ridiculous. In the process of trying to get the vet paid, they couldn't get in touch with the owner, so they could take care of the bill. The only reason this review got one star is because you can't give 0! I was concerned about boarding my cat because she's about 10 years old and I thought the shock of a new location would cause her extreme mental stress. Thankfully we found Jill. A few weeks before our event, we met in person. Jill came over to meet Lucky, and the two instantly bonded. Lucky jumped onto her lap and started chewing on her hair, then laid down to rumble on her lap. Jill explained how her services work and asked us what Lucky liked to do, where her toys were, where the litter boxes are, where her food and water are, and the cleaning supplies. Jill explained her pricing system (fair) and that she sends updates daily, along with photos, she cleans the litter box, and she would change Lucky's water (Lucky has an automatic dispenser). We signed the paperwork and Jill left. When the day came, Jill sent the most amazing picture of Lucky. As much as I love my cat, in ten years, I've never been able to get a clear, nonblurry photo of her and Jill was able to get it day one. Jill's easy to communicate with (text then email). She's easy to schedule. And she's easy to pay (we use Chase QuickPay). Try to schedule her as soon as you know when you're going because she does charge a little more per day if it's "last minute" (within a week), again, very fair. Overall, my wife and I overwhelmingly recommend her. Since hiring her service for our wedding, we've scheduled Jill for 3 other trips and we will continue to do so in the future!

Odds are if you're on Yelp looking for reviews of pet sitters, you'd probably like how Lori handles client communication. Before I went out of town, I googled "Pet sitting Richardson" and she came up. I contacted her through her e-mail on the site and got a response the next morning. I submitted a few forms online (pet names, meds, vet, etc.), sent her my address, and she shows up. My point is that we didn't play phone tag for days. If you're trying to leave town, spending all day on the phone doesn't work, but Lori is great about arranging everything online. Oh yeah, this is supposed to be about her pet sitting. Before I leave she comes over and introduces herself . . . to my cats. I thought that was funny. She hangs out for a few minutes, figures out where everything is, learns a little bit about each cat, takes a key and agrees to come by when I'm gone. That's pretty much all there is to it. While I'm gone she e-mails me updates about each visit. Pet sitting for cats is rather straight-forward: "Cleaned litter box. Filled bowl. Petted them when they walked by. Then they slept again." But I think updates would be relevant for someone with elderly pets who needed meds, or for pets who needed keep vet appointments. I can see where daily updates on a high-maintenance dog would be important. FWIW, she has a huge SUV, so if she had to take you 200lb Mastif to the vet, she could. When I got back, cats were still alive, had full food bowls and clean litter. So, she covered all three elements of cat sitting. She left the key under the mat (which I suggested) and a few days later she e-mailed me a reasonable bill with the price she quoted. I now know all I need to do is e-mail her the dates I'm gone and ask her to come by Day 1, 2, 3, etc and my cats will be taken care of as well as if I were at home.

My family has been bringing our dogs to Pet Paradise Premier in Plano for nearly 10 years. Over that time they've cared for three of our dogs: Lily, our brindle sweetheart; Nova, my brilliant Catahoula rescue; and now Blondie, our playful pit-husky mix. Blondie currently attends daycare two or three days a week and boards there when we travel. Overall we've had many good experiences. The dogs get exercise, socialization, and the staff clearly knows them well. But the real reason we remain loyal clients is Wendy Hudgins. Over the years there have been a couple situations where things didn't go exactly as expected. Those moments are when you find out what a business is really made of. Wendy has repeatedly stepped in with professionalism, calm leadership, and genuine care. She takes ownership, communicates openly, and clearly cares about the animals and the families who trust them to Pet Paradise. There were times she even proactively called to let us know about something happening so we were never left wondering. That kind of accountability and transparency matters. To be very honest: if Wendy wasn't part of the team, we probably would have moved on. She is an incredible asset to Pet Paradise and exactly the kind of person you hope is looking after your dog.
