It's been 6 or so years since we first arranged a stay for our puppies at Rover Resort in Mckinney. We have 2 Yorkies and we always use a resort for their stay while we are on vacation. Other places, don't have the attention, facilities, and in many ways, personalized attention we receive at the Rover Resort. We leave them with the peace of mind that they will be treated as guests at the resort and not just as another boarding place. The staff is amazing, they are customer oriented, respectful with their guests and owners and overall, you can see and feel their goodwill and commitment to ensure our pets have the best experience. Our puppies are now much older, and they are treated with love and care. As long as we are allowed to enjoy our puppies, we will have them stay at Rover Resort. This way, we can enjoy our vacation with peace of mind. They really are the best of the best. read more

We absolutely love Rover Resort. It's truly eased so much anxiety I have leaving my animals when we travel. I love that they treat every dog individually and actually asses their behavior. We have one dog who doesn't do well with big dogs or even dogs her size accept her brothers. She isn't just dumped in a pen all day. She has individual play time and I can purchase more times if I want. I love that they have their own patio. My dogs always come home happy and not frantic like they did at other boarding places or even someone I hired privately to watch them. I also appreciate the fact that when issues do happen (bc dogs can get sick or hurt) they handle it. They have a vet they can take the pups to go see. We will be forever customers. We travel several weeks out of the year and there's nobody not even family I trust to watch my animal babies more than Rover Resort! read more

I've been bringing my Boxer to Rover Resort since he was about 9 months old and it was the best decision I could've made. Because of his time at daycare here he is very dog friendly and calm around other animals. If it is a 1 day of daycare of a few overnights he is over joyed to come play! He is 2 years old now and always full of energy, but whenever he has spent the day at Rover he comes home happy and exhausted - even into the next day. This is an absolutely fantastic place that you can trust to care for your dogs. We are new to the area and did our research to find the best place for boarding. We couldn't be happier after several stays, and we are very picky. We have a Labrador & Malitpoo who room together and they are very well cared for. Rover Resort has excellent protocols and systems and are organized. I really appreciate their reservation system because you know immediately if there's space without having to call, and it allows for personalization of care for your pet. It is fairly priced for the excellent quality. Every person we've met has been kind, appear well trained, and handled drop off and pick up very efficiently. I used the website to make a reservation. Like some of the other reviews here, it appears that the new ownership has caused a major disconnect. I left my name, phone, and email with the agent. stressed that we were very concerned about getting a reservation in 2.5 months (over Thanksgiving). I also asked for them to be sure someone would contact me either way so I could make other arrangements. Thank goodness I didn't just wait for them to call or email. I called them back after waiting 3 days and was informed that the are so sorry, they're already booked. 1. Contact your customers when you say you will. 2. To whom did I give my info??? I was informed that the agents are offsite...great! 3. When you service level drops, you lose customers. You should read your other reviews. We travel extensively and are very fortunate that the money is not an issue for us when it comes to taking care of our pets. I guess I'm thankful in an odd way. I'll find another boarder that treats their clients well. If you don't take care of the humans that pay you, then I am concerned that you don't take care of our pets. read more

I have been bringing my dogs to ROVER for many years and have always had good luck. Our recent boarding experience was a disaster. Upon pick up my little dog had a missing collar and they couldn't find my big dog's bed or my little dog's medication. They couldn't tell me if either dog had any issues or received meds. I paid for the pet insurance to be safe because our dogs are part of the family. Once we returned home the dogs were terribly thristy. They kept me up all night with this and it took over a day for this to subsize. My large dog has a rash on his boy parts and a staph infection in his ear. My vet says he thinks the rash came from laying on wet concrete. I spent $211 in vet bills due to this..the insurance is a joke. Since the ownership change, the quality of care is subpar. We will not return. Proceed with caution. read more

Have used Rover Resort for past 10 years but when owner sold business to corp. quality began to deteriorate. In past 6 months a daycare trip was cut short when they dropped our reservation, then we left our beloved animal for two weeks and within 24 hrs. Had $900 vet bill. Dehydration etc. This week they announced they had a ax unit go down and would have to cancel reservations of people leaving town. Maintenance seems to be an issue and no attention to details by management. They have had dead plants in planters on either side of front entrance for a year and no one will remove them. Initially everything was great... they were friendly and it seemed like the best place for our dog. Unfortunately after one of our holidays we returned to see our dog limping and unable to put any pressure on her back leg. The staff were very unhelpful telling us that nothing was wrong and that she just needed to run the injury off (which was the worst advice). We asked why they did not contact us or take our dog to the vet and they did not have an answer. After we got back home and we went to the vet there was no follow up call from the owner. In fact they called our vet behind our backs to see how bad the injury was (and they still did not contact us). It's taken a while for me to come back and write this comment but it's important for everyone to know that they don't have the best staff who take care of your pet and if something goes wrong they really don't care. Please don't go by first impressions... there are plenty if better places out there. read more

Took our Pug mix to Rover Resort for grooming and will definitely be using their services again. She came back clean and nails trimmed at a very reasonable price. Best of all, she usually comes back from a groomer shaking and panting, but at Rover Resort she was quite happy coming out and on the way home which makes me believe they treated her quite well. This day care takes care to not allow too many dogs. Dogs are let out for play 6 at a time with a human supervisor. Tremendous service. Pets treated like family. Baths and nails stellar. This place is fabulous! I don't travel much, and as a result, my 7-year old pit mix, Luke, had never boarded before. I was not looking forward to it at ALL. I showed up there one day randomly to check out the facility. I deliberately didn't call first cause I wanted to see everyday behavior instead of "someone's coming" behavior. lol This place is so cute! It's like a farm. Great drive-up appeal with hay bales and goats and donkeys in the front fenced area. This was way out in McKinney (I'm in Garland). I felt like I was getting close to Oklahoma. ;) Anyway, the ladies were very friendly and one gave me a tour, explained what they offered, rates, etc. She put me completely at ease, and the facility was clean and organized. The options I chose for Luke included - a private climate-controlled room with a doggie door leading to a private (chain link fenced) concrete covered patio outside. He could go in/out at will, 24/7, be safe from the elements, and see other dogs as well as a wooded view, but the dogs had no access to each other. She told me he'd be let out into the yard/grass area at least 7 times a day. She also said there was a person who lived in the facility so they were never alone there who also let them out for midnight pee times. If I wanted him to have group play with other dogs, he could, but I chose not to because Luke can be quite bossy. They offer additional one-on-one time (this may have been $5 for 30 minutes?) with one of the girls. This could be yard play or TLC. I opted for the TLC as Luke is very lovey and used to being with me all the time at home. I wanted him to get cuddles and not feel abandoned while I was away. I brought his own food (you can use theirs for a fee), and his special bed and bone from home. He was also given a complimentary bath, I think if you stay over 3 nights a bath is included. They knew approximately when I'd pick him up, and they had his things gathered when I got there. The best thing was I know he loved it because when they brought him out, he went to me, then ran to one of the girls, the other girl, to me, repeat. lol So I know he liked them, and they talked to him and petted him like they were now old friends! He got a fried duck foot treat (ew!) for the ride home, and we were off! He has been perfect since! Vet records were required in advance of drop off, which I found comforting. Also, when picked up - he was in perfect condition! I've heard tales of people boarding animals and when they pick them up they have mange or fleas or something wrong with them. No problems here! Next time I have to board, this will be the place! It really helps to know there is someone I can trust to care for my animals and keep them safe in my absence. read more

We leave our lab here when we go out of town and he's happily exhausted when he gets home. Love the option for indoor/outdoor suites and the natural setting vs other boarders who are in strip malls or high traffic areas. Staff is welcoming and responsive to emails. I gave a 4 star rating because some work needs to be done on the app. I ordered add-ons (brain games, snuggle time, PB Kong) but he did not receive those during his most recent stay (last week). We should have confirmed at check in because the same thing happened last time (6/2022) but apparently the app reservation did not sync with the facility software. We relocated to Texas from Las Vegas and needed a safe, fun, place for our dogs to stay while our house was being finished. Our close date changed a few times and Andrea was so understanding and helpful so that the dogs could stay longer than expected. They took great care of our 3 year old golden retriever making sure he got play time with other young, active dogs. They also watched over our 15 year old chihuahua mix who over did it and needed a day of quiet time and cuddles which they offered without hesitation. I appreciated their communication during our dog's stay and their flexibility with our changing pick up dates. I highly recommend sending your dogs to have great time at Rover Resort. read more

Our absolute favorite place to board our pibble Buddy! He loves to see Kathy and the gang and I know he is given lots of love and attention when he's with them! Buddy doesn't always place nice with other pups so he is given extra special 1:1 time throughout the day. The RR team will play with him outside and even just cuddle him in his room! Love this place! Not only are they spacious with lots of land for the critters to roam freely upon, but they're spacious inside as well. The "guest rooms" are clean and roomy for my pupz who love to spread out. But the best part is the staff. Cathy and her team truly love animals as you'll see when you drive up to the place and pass donkeys and goats in the front. They know each pet's quirks, and absolutely go out of their way to make sure your pet's experience is great. DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE! You'll be over charged and your pet will pay the consequences for their staff not paying attention. After my Vet highly suggested this resort, and even the resort discussing medical care of my pet with the vet, I was comforted to have left my dog in "good care". Upon picking-up my pup, I realized that she had lost 8lbs and ingested some sort of yellow plastic toy. Rover Resort did not take any responsibility for the loss of weight nor ingestion when I called for more information about her care. I'm left with no answers except "You should have paid an additional TLC fee" in order for them to watch my dog. I paid for a visit, Xrays, new lab tests, and new meds in order to undo whatever Rover Resort did to my pet! read more

I originally heard about Rover Resort by way of recommendation from our trainer at What A Great Dog! in Prosper. I actually already had a spot I loved for day care & boarding...but thought it wouldn't hurt to have more than one option. Fortunately, this place is just a short drive from our home in the Northern edge of Frisco. I imagine it would be quite a drive from Dallas...but it would definitely be worth it. First things first, when I drive to RR - I find as I'm approaching I feel lighter & like I'm breathing easier. Perhaps, I'm maybe a bit of a "country gal". I grew up in one of those "bedroom communities" South of Austin...that community is way more developed now that when I grew up. Nevertheless (really a word?), I do feel a little like I'm leaving the cares of the city far far behind. RR is a FABULOUS facility. You literally feel like you're taking your canine friend out to spend some quality time with your family at their ranch in the country. The kennels are clean and roomy, and they all have a dog door with a private patio/outside area. There are several big grass play yards!! Trust, "Resort" is very appropriate in the name...it's like a heavenly dog spa. Cathy, one of the owners, was supremely friendly and helpful...when I called for info, when I stopped by for a visit, when I brought my dog the first time, when I picked up my dog...well every time I've seen her. When she gave me my first tour, I met her Great Pyrenees, Buddy and loved that she said "honestly, we just want to make them happy" when talking about all the various dogs and their routines through the day. My pup has only been for Day Care so far - which is a steal at $17 (and they give you a frequent user punch card...you pretty much earn a day after ten). Based on our experience so far, I'm pretty certain we will board her here if we have to leave town. read more

Absolutely cannot say enough good things about rover resort. I boarded my dogs there for the first time, for a long weekend. I was impressed as soon as I walked in. The lobby was clean...SO clean. I appreciated the way they made sure to only have one doggie family in the lobby at a time ...to avoid any of those potential conflicts. I was a little anxious to leave my kids for the first time there but as my dogs went to the back and I was finishing up, other customers were coming in, and as I struck up conversation I heard nothing but high praise. I came home to 2 clean, happy, peaceful and tired dogs! They, and the blankets I brought, smelled great, as they bathed them and did their laundry. These are great people that love the animals and it shows. Fantastic place where I can comfortable leaving my pups. So happy to have found this place!! read more

I am obsessed with this place!! If you're looking for an amazing place to board your pets when you're traveling, or for a day care solution if you work long hours, look no further. Kathy treats my dog as her own. Whenever I call to schedule boarding, she asks about my dog by name, even when we haven't been in in a while. The facility is clean and beautiful- the boarding rooms are large and each indoor room has a doggy door so your pet can access a small patio for fresh air. The grounds are fenced and open, and your pet will have acres to run and play! Kathy is known to take pictures of your pets playing, and you can see what a blast they've had while you're gone. I NEVER worry about my dog when she's at Rover Resort. My favorite feature of their service is that if your dog has stayed 3 nights with them, Rover Resort will give your pup a free bath so they smell nice and fresh when you arrive to pick them up. If I could change one thing about their service, it would be Sunday pickup- currently, they are not open on Sundays so if you return from a weekend trip on Sunday, you have to wait until Monday to pick up your pet. But, I definitely would not let that stop me from using Rover Resort- I love them too much! read more
