I am so upset. I took my daughter's 7 month old Pom for his 1st big boy cut to what research told me was Plano's second best groomer. (Plano's #1 evidently isn't taking new customers) I digress. When we dropped him off I should have walked away when they showed me the carpet choices of hair length and asked which one we wanted, but I pointed to Pomeranian on THEIR business card and said "I want him to look like this". The very nice girl at the counter asked went to the groomer and then came back and said pointed out the hair samples and said they would use the longest setting for his body but make sure his head was longer and more teddy bear shaped. At this point I flat out stated "I do NOT want him to look like a teddy bear. He is a long hair Pom." She said ok we will just leave it longer and fuller around the face. Once more before I left I made sure to say I wanted him to look like the one on the card and we definitely didn't want a teddy bear cut. When we picked him up he was scared to death and shivering. Now this could definitely be because he is spoiled rotten and a drama kind and we never leave him alone. But the groomer was like "He's kennel shy and doesn't want to come out." Ummmm.....maybe he was scared because you gauged his ear!!!! Anyway, I'm not trying to get a meal for free so I paid my bill and a little tip. Because let's be honest, it's hair and it grows back. But I wanted to write this review because I don't think you should be putting a picture of something you aren't capable of doing on your business card! The front desk girl was really sweet at the beginning and end of the transaction. The grooming stations were visible to customers. But honestly, we will not be taking our baby back.

On January 14th, 2020 I took my two huskies to Classy Cuts for grooming services. They have been there in the past, with no problems. I dropped off my dogs off at 2:00pm. I indicated I wanted "a trim" to the receptionist at the time, as I've done in previous visits. At 5:00pm, my mother picked up my dogs. My two beautiful huskies had been shaved completely, except their heads and tails. My mother was appalled and flabbergasted. Once I saw my dogs, I was equally as dissapointed. Double coat dogs are not supposed to be shaven due to their increased vulnerability to temperature, sun and insects. On January 15th, I contacted Classy Cuts to voice my displeasure on the services received. I indicated wanting a full refund. After some waiting, I was informed by Cesar, a manager, that they would refund half of what I paid and provide a free appointment next time. I indicated I would like a full refund due to the ongoing negative byproducts of the dogs being shaven. The manager indicated that the receptionist reported she had informed me of the risks in shaving my dogs, completely dismissing my recolection of events. He went on to indicate that the receptionist also reported having explained everything to me and that I had asked her to have the dogs shaved. They provided no documentation of me asking my dogs to be shaved other than the narrative provided by the employee. On January 17th, after ongoing communications, my brother went to pick up a check for half of the amount paid on January 14th. When he arrived he was presented with two copies of a word document which stipulated that I would be reimbursed for half of the amount, that both my dogs would never receive any services, and that I would not speak about anything that happened. My brother felt extremely akward and nervous about signing since he was there for financial reimbursement purposes. He asked if he would be reimbursed if he did not sign. The manager indicated he would not receive reimbursement if he did not sign. My brother left without signing the document or receiving reimbursement. This whole ordeal has been very taxing. My dogs are shaved and have been negatively impacted by Classy Cuts' negligent behavior. It has been very dissapointing how the situation was handled by the merchant. My concerns were continously dismissed and negated. Instead of fostering understanding and cultivating their customer base, Classy Cuts chose to denigrate and dismiss my dogs and I, after their own negligence caused the issue. I would not recommend Classy Cuts going forward. Not because of their grooming services, although those have deeply hurt me and my doggy family. I choose not to recommend Classy Cuts because of their dismissive and negligent customer service. Which not only failed to acknowledge their mistake but successfully made me feel alienated, dismissed, and generally unsatisfied. Pictures of my dogs say more than any review could ever denote.

    Fluffy Max - thanks!

I picked him up and he had been de-shedded, nails AND his paws were trimmed!!! Some customers might be happy about getting a service they didn't pay for. If the de-shedding, nail and paw trim was what my dog needed AND it was a job well done, I might feel differently. But that is NOT the case! De-shedding issue: My Golden does NOT have the long, flowing "typical" Golden fur. His is fur is fine and short, it just doesn't grow much and does NOT to be de-shedded!! It finally had just gotten long enough this past year that it layed down. Now, it's sticking up every where, gets tiny tangles, is a shaggy mess! Nail trim and Trimmed paw issue: When I say, they trimmed his paws, you can see where they just snipped the "grinch fur" sticking up on the top of his paws, not that they did a nice trim job and blended the fur etc. Some Golden owners might not like the "grinch feet" but I am not one of them! The nails didn't even need a trim, now they have jagged edges!! The paw trim was not a job well done and was NOT a service I asked for!! My biggest issue though, is getting a service I DID NOT ask for or want!! WHY were grooming tools even near my dog when I ONLY ordered a basic bath?? I have sent an email asking a manager or owner to call me to discuss this. I have also called multiple times asking to speak to someone in charge or call me and nothing!! It's been a week now, No response to my email and no call back. So this is my first negative review EVER! So at this point, all I can say is, DO NOT GO HERE if you want any level of professional customer service or if you want any service that is what you asked for and looks good!

Their website is super easy to navigate and it lists all of their services and information. Since Morgan was only a few Months old we booked the Bath and Tidy service which includes a bath with premium shampoo and conditioner, a brush out, nail trim, anal gland expression and ear cleaning. When Morgan was finished she looked so pretty and clean and she was also happy! We can't say enough good things about the staff there also and they are great about sending reminders about upcoming Appointments and they also send a text message to let us know when Morgan was ready for pick up. I spoke with an associate over the phone at Lakeside Pet, completed the online forms, and submitted all the required paperwork. We normally take our dog to another grooming business, but our regular groomers have been unavailable for quite some time due to being down a technician. So, we decided to look elsewhere for a personal groomer--one we considered making the new grooming home for our fur baby. I booked a full grooming appointment with Lakeside Pet on Wednesday, 6/24/26, for the following day, 6/25/26, at 1:00 p.m. I took our dog in for his scheduled appointment and explained his temperament. He makes friends wherever he goes, loves treats, and has never bitten anyone. I also explained that we wanted a low teddy bear cut because of the extreme Texas heat. We agreed on the length, and I left our baby for his 1:00 p.m. appointment. At 2:01 p.m., I received a text from his groomer, Karla, stating: "Hi this is Karla, Creed's groomer. After a closer assessment of his face and ears. I did see that he has quite a lot of matting in his ears and muzzle. I will need to shave both places to get the matting off. He will have a clean face like a poodle because of the matting in his muzzle. Please let me know if you have and questions or concerns." My response: "Hey, Karla. I'm not surprised. He had a cone on for the last couple of weeks and our groomer's been booked for a while too. Do what's necessary. Thanks!" At 2:10 p.m., I received another text from Karla: "I did attempt to work on Creed but he was fighting the grooming process too much and I had to stop the groom for his safety. I would recommend talking to his vet about a light sedative like trazadone for grooming. If he is on a sedative we could try again with him as an express appointment. I was only able to shave some of his face and then had to make the call to stop the groom for his safety. You can pick him up now. There will be no charge today." When I arrived, I found our baby with half of his face shaved, uneven pieces of hair dangling from the other side, and no bath. I can only assume Karla didn't begin grooming him until 2:01 p.m.--an hour after I dropped him off--and just nine minutes later I was told to come pick him up. When I asked what happened, Karla stated, "he kept moving his head too much." What dog doesn't move? I even asked if he had growled or tried to bite her. "No, he just kept moving his face away." I offered to continue the appointment by giving him a CBD chew we had purchased from the pet store. We often use them to help calm our fur baby during bad storms. She declined and instead suggested that we get a prescription for trazodone from our veterinarian. I was genuinely puzzled. We've taken him to the same veterinary office for baths on numerous occasions and have never once been told he needed trazodone for grooming. My impression was that a dog who moved during grooming simply wasn't within her comfort zone. It seemed she expected him to remain completely still. Our dog was in a new environment with a new groomer. It's reasonable to expect that he would be a little apprehensive. I also believe more effort should have been made to work with him rather than ending the appointment after only nine minutes. She offered us a follow-up "express appointment with trazadone," rather than the full groom I had originally booked. I was left with the impression that she wasn't interested in spending any additional time helping our baby look his best. Needless to say, we won't be returning, and we won't be recommending Lakeside Pet to others.

She used harsh chemicals on him and left them on too long, which burned and irritated his skin. On top of that, she aggressively scratched him with deshedding tools, leaving him raw and in pain. Within 24 hours, my sweet happy and energetic dog became lethargic and very unwell, barely able to move and not eating or drinking. We had to rush him to the emergency vet, where we were told that his rash and sickness were caused by contaminated grooming tools and/or the harsh deshedding products that were left on him. I asked all the questions and double checked that there was nothing else that could have caused this and he doubled down on the groomer causing this harm. Hearing this from a medical professional broke my heart -- my dog suffered because of carelessness and disregard. No pet owner and more importantly no pet should ever have to go through what we did. I entrusted Helen with the health and safety of my dog, and instead, he was harmed and traumatized. Please think twice before allowing Helen to touch your dog. Our pets deserve gentle, safe, and compassionate care -- not to be put at risk.
